Valentines Day comes early...

My dear hubby has to work on Valentine's Day, so he treated me to V-day today. He took me to lunch and then ...he treated me to all these wonderfully glorious hand dyed fabrics :)(he got these at too good a price to pass up) There are 30 pieces in all-they are fat quarters up to half yard pieces in 28ct to 40ct.....Oh, I am in fabric heaven and have been fondling them since I received them this afternoon :)
Aren't they just yummy???

I mailed out today to everyone that was expecting a package from me :) Enjoy :)
And YES, vehicle is no longer sick :) :) :) :) HOWEVER, potholes still appearing everywhere-some of them look like sinkholes!!!

Thank you all so much for your visits and your wonderfully kind email :) I have tried to answer email but still have a few to get to :) WOW!! I can't thank you enough for writing and I WILL reply to you before tonight is over :) You are some of the kindest and bestest friends and readers anyone can have :) Thank you :)

Super Bowl Giveaway Winner.......

The winner of Quaker Diamonds is Catherine! Catherine please send me your mailing information

Thank you all for taking a chance and adding your name :) I am sorry I couldn't send to everyone :) It took my forever to cut out all the comments for drawing :)

I will mail out to you later this week, Catherine! I had hoped to go to the PO tomorrow to mail several packages to friends-HOWEVER this afternoon while we were running a few errands something "broke" on my vehicle (on Friday-we hit one of the thousands of potholes that the weather has caused in our roads over the past few weeks-I mean they are literally just appearing everywhere-you can go somewhere and there not be a pothole but when you come back the same route there may be several-on Friday hubby hit one when we were going to lunch and it must have caused some damage then and we didn't know it until it BROKE today...UGH!!!!!!!) and until it is repaired I will not be able to go to the PO :( I do not know how long the repair will take-so until I get my vehicle back...friends that are expecting packages from me this week...will have to be patient and wait a bit longer :) :)

Have a MOST lovely week dear friends :) Thanks for stopping by :) Please come again :)

A Change of plans...**EDITED**

finishing plans that is :) I did the finishing on Wonderland today and decided that I would finish it as an ornament and send it to live with Faye as she loved the design so much :) I hope you will enjoy it, Faye :)

Design: Wonderland
Designer: the Trilogy
Fabric: 30ct. Grey Clay Northern Cross Linen
Fibers: WDW
Designs Size: 4.7 x 4.7
Start Date: 1-30-2010
Finish Date: 2-2-2010

Thanks for your feedback on the red/white fabric for Folk Art Bunny :) I do appreciate your time :)

As a side note: I "hear from a little birdie" there is some nastiness going on in blogland-what sounds like a little GREEN EYED MONSTER to me-as far as my blog goes... let me say that if any of you have a problem with me, my blog, my post...DON'T visit :) Simple as that :) I do not like people that start things up-spread falsehoods, take advantage of or gossip- and shame on those that do!!!that's ALL I will say on the subject :)
**EDITED** Please know I was not the "victim" of nastiness....I have only heard about it and think that some people are just miserable people-so they need to make others miserable, in order to feel better about themselves-I was just speaking out against it and letting it be known I do NOT play those little head games**

And with that.....Thank you friends and readers for stopping by :) I appreciate your visit so very much :)
Have a most lovely weekend :)

Celebrations...and other stuff :)

My best friends dad finally got to come home yesterday after 37 long days in the hospital :) YAY!! Thank you all so much for your prayers for him-they worked :) So I took my best friend out to celebrate today :) We had a lovely time and also a little shopping :)

First I would like to say thank you for all your suggestions on the finishing for Folk Art Bunny. You have given a lot of great suggestions and I appreciate each one that took time to leave a comment about it :) I have NOT made a decision yet-when I do I will let you know and announce who I will be stitching a little something special for :) HOWEVER, I did pick up this fabric that I think I will be using in whatever finish I go with :)What do you think?? Thanks, Terri for the fabric suggestion -I think it will work perfectly :):):)

I also found this lovely heart box. I just love it :)

And I could not resist these Easter goodies for 50% off :) I am looking forward to putting out all my Easter displays after V-day :) TOOOO Adorable :)

2 more days to sign up for the Pin pillow exchange-we have a huge group of stitchers :) If you would like to join us-PLEASE review all guidelines and send the needed info to me by Friday :)

She can drive some now-but she still hasn't been out much :) I found a couple of items...I just LOVE this doily-isn't is so lovely?

And this display rack will soon hold some of my cross stitched treasures :) I only paid 5.00 for it!! WOW!! I am excited about it!!!

And this Griswold Skillet...a real treasure :) I don't make cornbread in anything else :) This one is in REALLY good shape-just needs a little cleaning and to be seasoned :)

Can you have "cabin Fever" after 2 days???

I feel like it has been a week or more since I left the house due to the weather...LOL! It was only 2 days-but nonetheless it felt LONGER :) So, I got dressed and took off this morning :) Went to lunch and for a little shopping :) Look at these YUMMY finishing fabrics :) I actually wanted some more of the heart fabric that I used in my finish last week but alas, they were sold out-but I made up for it :)

And look at all this fiber that was marked WAY down. YAY!!!!

We expect more winter weather this week and again on the weekend....I think I will line up a few projects just in case :)

Wonderland...

I think this is appropriate for our weather this weekend. We had sleet/snow/freezing rain over the weekend and bitter temperatures. The SUN is out and the snow/ice is melting today but our temperatures are not moving much-we are in the teens for lows and yesterday did not get above the mid 20's for highs...BRRRRRRR!!! So this winter design is just about perfect for the weather :) :) :) I started this last night :) Don't be alarmed that I left no margin on my fabric..this is on purpose for the finishing I have in mind -no special finish in mind I just need the extra fabric for the finish-as this was a kit and I don't have any of this fabric :):) It's a FUN stitch :) Don't you love how the camera captured the fabric in totally different shades??? LOL!

To answer a question...for the pin pillow exchange...a pin pillow is STUFFED :) It can be any design/shape/size-YES it can be a biscornu or a mattress pincushion if that's your choice of finishing :) Or any other stuffed finish that works for a pin pillow :) Just make sure you finish it as a "stuffed" finish :)

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit :) I appreciate it so much and I do hope you will come again :)
Have a lovely week my friends :)

Valentines Exchange for Edgar

I had dear Edgar's name for the Valentines Exchange :) I wanted to stitch something he could use when V-day is over so I went with Quaker Swan Case (as I know how much he adores Quaker designs) and finished it as a "heart shaped" needlebook. I LOVE the chocolate(representing V-day candy!!) and blue paisley I chose to finish it with-I MUST make something for myself with this fabric :) As always my friend-it was MY pleasure to stitch for you :)

Quaker Swan Case
Designer: Fancy Work
Fabric: 32ct. Blue Spruce
Fibers: GAST

I packed everything up in this wonderful V-day box that Edgar can use for whatever he likes :)

I sent along a few goodies that I hope he will enjoy :)

Thank you all so very much for your visits :) I appreciate them much more than you can know :) You're all so kind and supportive-you make my day!! Please come again :)

I've been stitchin' Wabbits... :)

This was today's project :) Rabbit Roundabout :) It was a fun stitch :) I have had this kit forever and thought it was time to get it stitched up :) I finished it off into an ornament or doorknob hanger :) The bow is showing up VERY green here in the pic-but in real life it is more turquoise :)

Design: Rabbit Roundabout
Designer: Heart in Hand
Fabric: 32ct. Summer Khaki (I used what came with the kit)
Fibers: WDW
Start Date: 1-27-2010
Finish Date: 1-27-2010

As I sat stitching today-I reflected on a couple of months back when I was so miserable because of pain and not being able to enjoy the hobby I am most passionate about. I was so down/sad in November and December when my pain was flaring daily and I just could not stitch-I would try and just could not do it-especially in December. BUT I had to stop and give thanks today...thanks to my hubby for reading somewhere(in all the many things he reads) that Vitamin D could help with joint/bone aches...because of him I brought that up to my new doctor-who suggested I try Vitamin D daily along with some exercises and see what happens...well 3 weeks later, I have been absolutely PAIN free for over 2 weeks now. I suffered moderate pain daily throughout my arms/hands and legs/feet for more than 2 years- I can't believe how wonderful it feels to be able to do the things I love and not suffer from joint pain/muscle discomfort...it's MY miracle and I know I owe most of it to the Good Lord for answering my and my families prayers that I could find a solution and not suffer any longer :) PRAYER is most powerful :) I ALSO believe that the Lord helps those that help themselves, so I am doing what I am suppose to daily to keep this GOOD thing going :) I feel as if I have been given the "Gift of Stitching" again in my life and I tell you what...I don't plan to waste it :) I have never enjoyed anything as much as I have enjoyed the last couple of weeks with my stitching :) I hope YOU find the Blessings in your life and your stitching :)

Thank you all so much for your visits and your sweet emails and comments :) You just make my day and I love you all :)

Hearts for Tuesday :)

I stitched and finished this CUTIE today :) This design is another one I enjoy stitching and have stitched it several times for exchanges :) I finished it off into an adorable pin pillow. DMC 115....

I finished this up tonight...it turned out great -I really like the way the red worked with the other colors:) I hope whoever this goes to will enjoy it :) I *HOPE* to do the finishing on it this weekend :) FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!! :) I'll share a pic again once it's all in finished form :)

Designer: Cmon monde
Fabric: 32ct. Antique White
Fibers: DMC 115 & DMC
Start Date: 1-24-2010
Finish Date:1-25-2010

I am SO GLAD I purchased so much DMC 115 :) I just love working with this fiber and the way it looks in a design. Every time I have been into Michael's or Hobby Lobby for the past couple of years and they have it on sale I buy several skeins :) It is one of my MOST favorite fibers-it looks GREAT AND you get 8.7 yds for a very reasonable price (especially if it is on sale)!!!!

Thank you friends for stopping by for a visit and for all your sweet comments and emails :) You make me SMILE and I truly appreciate each of you :)

This is the second design I have chosen to stitch/finish to give away on my birthday to one of my regulars :) I'm not going to finish it as I did the one I stitched for myself (I have a different finish in mind) and I am also using a different color palette :) I LOVE stitching this design. For me to stitch something more than once I have to enjoy the design and this is one of those designs :)

Be of Good Cheer **EDITED FOR ANSWERS**

"Be of Good Cheer"...isn't that a nice saying?? I always try to Be Of Good Cheer :) Sometimes I fail-but for the most part I find I am of Good Cheer :)
I started this for SAT last night with Let's Stitch and finished it up today-I finished it into a tin-with a magnetic strip in the lid for holding needles and a lined bottom :) This is going to go out to one of my readers on my b-day :) I have so much to be grateful for and I am so blessed by such lovely friends VIA the blogging/stitching community-This year I am adopting something I hope will continue for the remainder of my birthdays :) I am GIVING for my B-day and this will be one of the gifts I send out to one of my regular readers/commenter's :) (THIS IS NOT A GIVEAWAY/CONTEST-this is just something I will be sending out to one of my regulars:))I hope to have a few other items to send out by my B-day :)

Design: Be of Good Cheer
Designer: Shepherd's Bush
Design Size: 3.56 x 2.93
Fabric: 32ct. Silkweaver Solo
Fibers: DMC
Date Started:1-22-10
Date Finished: 1-23-10

**EDITED**I purchase my tins in a variety of places-some (this one) is a gift card holder purchased from Hobby Lobby. Some SWEET ladies at church save their Altoid tins for me and many people send me all their Christmas tins :) I have finished many different sized and shaped tins-they all work wonderful for our needlework :) I have tins running over :) :) :)

Myra
-the pretties in the box is part of my Liberty Hill collection-those happen to be hand-painted thread winders :) LOVE THEM!!!

Susan-To keep your trim looking neat, the trick is to butt it up end to end-DO NOT overlap it as it makes it bulky. When I use braided cording I have a trick for that too-I find a floss color in the shade as close to the color of the trim I am using and I wrap it around the ends tightly and tie it off with my needle-I then cut the floss CLOSE to the trim and AGAIN, butt it end to end-DO NOT overlap :) It makes for a NEAT finish and no bulkiness and you do not have to use any type of fray check or messy stuff to keep it from fraying :)EDITED**

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit :) I can't tell you how VERY much your comments/emails and MOSTLY your friendships mean to me-I feel truly blessed by each of you :)

I am just so lucky :) I received this gorgeous cube today from Myra- for the V-day exchange :)it is PERFECTLY stitched and finished and I just love it! It will go right to my Valentines table :) She also made me a project pouch with "frogs" which she writes she hopes the frogs that may visit my home will enjoy frolicking with the frogs on my stitching pouch and stay away from my stitching :) LOL!! Me too, Myra :) I LOVE the pouch by the way :)Thank you for the needles, notepad and lollipop :) What a generous exchange :)
thank you dear Myra :) You're a sweetheart :)

I have had emails asking what my new start was....

Actually-I didn't start anything new (YET) I have spent what stitching time I have had working on Q&Q still :) The quilt blocks are a lot denser stitching and taking a lot longer than the other parts of this sampler-BUT, I am still loving it and enjoying it so much :) I have had so many email about this project..it's wonderful to see so much interest in this Sampler :)

Someone asked if I was going to stitch Quaker Diamonds when I finished Q&Q....hmmm...just might start it :) We'll see how I feel about it once I finish Q&Q :)

I had a few things I had on order at my LNS come in today :)

My mom is recovering nicely-she had the staples removed from her arm on Monday (that's from the surgery she had) and had a cast put on and has mobility in her arm/fingers now where as before she had none :) Thanks so much for your prayers for her-we ALL appreciate them so much :)
AND, your prayers for my vest friends dad have helped as well-he is OFF the ventilator and sitting up in bed..isn't that just wonderful news :) Thank you all so much for keeping them in your prayers :)

Sherry-YES, the weather is so beautiful-it makes me want to be outside :) Are you enjoying it:??? Looking for cooler and rain tomorrow though :)

Berit-Never really thought about it before, but YES-I would say that SOME of Rosewood Manor is "country" :)

Thanks for visiting :) I appreciate your comments and your sweet emails (Sadie, dear, can you resend your email???something happened and I can't reply to it and would REALLY love to reply to you-you're such a sweetie-thanks for emailing me)
Please come again :)

What did she decide to do????

It didn't take long to decide that I would INDEED stitch the quilt parts of Q&Q :) I just love this design and I have loved every minute I have stitched on it. The quilt part is going a lot slower than the other part of the sampler...but it is STILL a pleasure to work on :) I adore the Valdani fibers-they are such a joy to stitch with.

I am **thinking** (oops did you see/smell smoke??) I may be going through my stash tonight for a new start :) That's one of the best parts...going shopping in your own house :) !!!! :) :) :)

It has been such a beautiful day today in my part of SC...the sun was bright and the temperatures were up into the 60's and it just felt so Spring like :) Such a nice treat after better than a month of below average temperatures for us :)

Thanks so much for all your wonderful emails and your visits :) I appreciate them so VERY much :) Please come again :)
Have a most lovely week :)

And as I did last year I will request NO GIFTS PLEASE :) The gift of your friendships is what I cherish most :) You honestly can't know what your friendships mean to me :) Your friendships are PRICELESS to me- Some of you have been my Saving Grace so many times-I feel a kindred spirit with some of you that I have never felt with others :) I know we all gravitate towards certain people more than others-it's only natural-BUT isn't it nice to have an avenue (the stitching bloggers community) that we can all be a part of:) Just to know you are out there reading (and I know that from the countless email I receive each and every day-I cherish those emails and I meet so many wonderful people through them-people that have become so special to me-if you are ever thinking of emailing an author of a blog you read...don't be shy-just do it-I bet you will be so happy you did)my endless chatter about stitching and this and that and what makes me happy, what makes me sad, troubled times and good times....-to know you are praying for and thinking good thoughts for myself and my family-WELL...those things are worth more than anything else you could give me :) AND because of all of YOU that have touched my life in ways you are probably not even aware of................................

For my Birthday this year...I am having an "un" Birthday Giveaway. Instead of receiving a gift for myself-I want to give away a very special gift to one of my readers :) The gift I have chosen to give is a $100.00 Gift Certificate to the ONS of my choosing. Just think...you can purchase some of those MARKET goodies that will be available :) If you would like a chance to win please leave a comment on THIS POST ONLY and I will draw a winning name on my Birthday (February 18) and will have the Gift Certificate sent out to you that same day. All my readers all welcome to enter :) You can enter BOTH giveaways if you like. If your name is chosen for both-you will win both :)
Thanks for visiting my blog and for the joy you bring to me with each and every visit :)

Quakers & Quilts Update :)

I pulled out this beauty to work on today and managed to finish up the Quaker portion of the design. I have been considering taking out the bottom band and framing it without the quilt part...still undecided. It is shown that way on the cover model as a stitching/framing option and I REALLY like this portion of the design the best.

Design: Quakers and Quilts
Designer: Rosewood Manor
Design Size: 15 x 8
Fabric: 40 ct. Lakeside Linen Lintel
Fibers: Valdani Floss (I chose these as this is the fibers that are recommended and Carol is stitching her piece in and it looks absolutely gorgeous)I will be stitching 1 over 2 with the Valdani fibers
Start Date: 10-19-2009

I was taking inventory of my current WIP's.....oh how I wish they were finished by now....BUT, when you are not sure from day to day how often you are going to get to stitch due to fibro and other pain related issues-you kinda crave stitching on whatever calls out to you :) SOoooooo I guess that's what I'll keep doing :) (BTW-the doc has me on a vitamin supplement regimen and Vitamin D is a MUST for me, daily I don't want to jinx anything-but my pain has been at bay for several days in a row-I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it continues)

Folk Art Bunny finish and the flu

Hubby and I have the flu-I am feeling much better after a week of battling it-it hit me hardest on Wednesday and I felt really bad Wednesday through Friday-but today I am feeling much, much better...hubby on the other hand is not-he had to stay home from work last night and it's not looking like he will be able to go tonight either.

Mom is doing so much better...I felt bad that I couldn't cook for them this week being sick-and she felt bad that she couldn't cook for us as we were sick..LOL! She is not in as much pain and her fingers are back to normal size and most of the bruising is gone. She goes on Monday for the cast to be put on. Your continued prayers and good thoughts for her would be MUCH appreciated :)

I participated in last nights SAT on Let's Stitch and actually finished up Folk Art Bunny today. I left off the butterflies as I was not particularly fond of them :) I LOVE the way this one turned out and look forward to doing the finishing on it :)

BTW-I am having some difficulties getting my blog to show as updated in Google Reader-I have not changed any settings and do not have a clue as to why it's not wanting to show as updated :( **Problem Solved**

(yes, I am aware my camera date is off by two days-I have to adjust it often, but it doesn't stay on time/date correctly-it loses days-not sure why as I set it and save it to the right time/date-I think I need a new one!)

Thank you for your emails :)

I have had a great many email about my mom and how she is doing and her surgery....-it's so much easier for me to answer here as I am not online much right now-surgery was done last Wednesday (I will not go into detail on the MANY things that went wrong that day)-however the surgery was a success and she now has pins and a plate in her wrist. She goes back for a cast on the 18th of this month. She can't do much as it's her right arm and she is right handed. Her arm/elbow and fingers are still VERY swollen (but nothing like they were last week) and discolored with bruising. She is still in pain and still on medications-however she is improving daily. I took her to have the staples removed from her head on Friday and that went really well. I am NOT online much at all...just to check email on occasion-I am trying to help with mom and I have been cooking supper for them :) We also celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary this past Saturday and we were busy and had a LOVELY, LOVELY couple of days :)
I have been in some pain again with my arms and have not stitched much at all on my folk art bunny...but that's ok too :) I am just thankful I can help my mom :)

I would like to ask a prayer for my Best Friends Dad-he is in REALLY bad shape -they had to take almost all of his intestines out about 2 weeks ago (due to gangrene) and he remains in intensive care in a coma. My best friend has been through a GREAT deal in her life with surviving cancer 3 times and now is facing losing her dad. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I received an email asking if I were upset with a friend, as I had not been in touch much lately or commenting on their blog...NOT at all-I have had a great deal going on in my life lately and sometimes "luxuries" like emailing and blogging and Internet in general have to take a back seat. I am not one of those people that have to have constant contact with someone to know or call you friend-or get mad at friends when they can't be in constant contact...just not like that-if I like you I like you no matter how often we may "speak"-so don't feel slighted if I haven't been commenting or emailing with you-it's NOT intentional :) :) I am NOT upset with anyone in anyway-just laying low for a bit as my family is going through so much right now-it in NO way has to do with anything anyone in blogland has said or done :) Things will get back to normal (whatever that is...LOL) I am sure and I will have more time to "visit" :)

As always my friends...thank you so much for stopping by and a SINCERE thank you for all your emails -you are just the best!! I hope to be back to visiting and commenting and posting soon...I HAVE to take care of family first though-if you don't have family/faith-you don't have much else :) AND my family and my faith are MOST important in my life :) I know you all understand :)

hugs and love from SC (where it is still cold but warming up)

Folk Art Bunny and THANK YOU :) **EDITED FOR MOM UPDATE**

First let me thank you all for your comments and emails wishing my mom a speedy recovery. Dad has taken her this afternoon to the specialist about her wrist just to make sure it will heal properly and nothing more is needed besides the cast. I will take her Friday afternoon to have the staples removed from her head-she says they hurt quite a bit-BUT, she did sleep some last night-the first time since the accident. I have shared all your love/concerns and prayers with her and she was so overwhelmed :) Thank you so much-I have the BESTEST friends/readers :)
**EDITED-well, I just got the call from Dad that mom WILL have to have surgery on her wrist. She will need to have pins put in place in order for her wrist to be right again. They are doing it at 2 PM on Wednesday-please keep her in your prayers**

Now, onto some stitchy goodness...I have had a very good weekend with very little discomfort. You can BET I took the opportunity between painting the kitchen and other activities to do some stitching :) I started Folk Art Bunny and I am LOVING it. I have wanted to stitch this one since the magazine came out last year :) It's such a HAPPY, colorful, fun stitch :) Here is my progess so far. I hope to continue with it this week if all goes well :)

With the good comes the bad.......

My dear mother fell from a ladder this afternoon (bless her heart-she was trying to remove a birds nest from a heater inside her greenhouse) and broke her right wrist and cut her head-she has 8 staples in the back of her head. She has to see a specialist on Monday about her wrist. I feel so badly for her as she was just getting back to doing a few things she enjoyed after having shoulder surgery, which she has yet to fully recover from. They were amazed at the hospital that she didn't break her back or injure her neck. We are SO thankful it was no worse than it is.
I would be so appreciative if you all could say a prayer for her and keep her in your thoughts as she is in a great deal of pain this evening. It looks like she will have another long recovery road ahead.
With that going on I have not yet made a start on getting the kitchen ready to paint-I hope to get all the prep work done tonight to start painting tomorrow afternoon :)

Many hugs and much love and THANK you so much for your kind comments about my good news :)
I have received many email today...please allow me several days to reply :) Thanks so much :)
Love and hugs from SC,

I have some news...

First I want to thank you all for your emails-WOW, I feel so blessed by you all and can't thank you enough for your good wishes and kind words :) You are just so thoughtful :)
Now, on to my news....AFTER a long, frustrating process, I was able to go to another doctor this past week (insurance related issues and which doctors I could see prevented that previously) and I have been diagnosed with bone spurs in my shoulders and elbows and they are what is causing my pain. We are going to try a few things to try and avoid surgery (we'll see at a later date if I improve)-the GOOD news is that I can stitch IF I feel like it and am not uncomfortable doing so. The new doctor advised me not to stitch for long periods and maybe not everyday-but I can do what my body feels like doing on a given day. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy with this news as I have been so depressed from not being able to stitch or type :) I feel like it's Christmas again and I got the gift of stitching back in my life.
Sadly though, I will NOT be able to do exchanges for now (as they are on a time line and I may not be able to meet commitments if I am in pain or discomfort-so for now it's just stitching when I feel like I can do so :)
Regardless of my limitations, I am just SO happy to be able to stitch and visit with you all :)

I'll be in touch soon and HOPE that I get to stitch something to share with you all-last night I was in a GREAT deal of pain and thought, oh well...I guess I will not be able to stitch-but today I am feeling MUCH better...BUT, I have other plans in the works which involves FINALLY painting my kitchen :)

Thanks again for your kind emails of support and concern :)
Thanks for stopping by-please come again soon. (HOPING I will have something to share with you soon)

Christmas Gift between friends for Shay :)

I know Shay has opened her gift by now-so I can share it here without spoiling the surprise :) :) I had SWEET Shay's name for the Christmas Gifts Between Friends group :) Shay mentioned in her sign-up information that she wanted a Christmas design and she liked traditional type designs for Christmas :) I chose to stitch this VERY traditional design :) This is the second time I have stitched this design-once for myself (have yet to do the finishing on mine)and now for Shay. I adore everything about this design. It is one of my most favorite sayings and I LOVE any and all versions of A Christmas Carol :) I chose to finish this as a box for Shay-I went back and forth on how I wanted to finish it-but eventually decided on this finish and I am so glad I did-it made the perfect box topper :) I sent other goodies, but neglected to take a pic of them-Shay mentioned she like birdhouses...I found 2 cool birdhouse items while I was out treasure hunting from one of my favorite consignment shops-those were among the goodies I sent:) :) I ABSOLUTELY enjoyed stitching, finishing and shopping for this exchange :) It was so much fun!!! I hope you enjoy it dear Shay :)
I used faux fur for Santa's beard and hat :) LOVE IT!!!

Some of you will recall I found this chopping board on one of my many treasure hunts some time ago and had a "vision" for it-BUT, until now I had not found the perfect design....this is it!! I hope the recipient likes it as much as I do :) Hoping it is not too primitive for them...I don't think it is-I think they will like it :) I just LOVE it :)
I used a LOVELY scrumptious tea dyed fabric that Nina gifted me with and it worked so well with the colors and was a JOY to stitch on :)

Gingerbread gifties...

LOOKIE what the mailman brought me from Tricia (aka Pat, whom I have known for many years and love to pieces :)!!!!!) I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY (enough really's?????)wish Tricia would start a blog. I have begged for a couple of years now, but alas she has not been bitten by the blogging bug :) I can see a bigger tree next year for my gingerbread collection :) YAY!!
Tracy asked me how many trees I put up in my home for Christmas.....USUALLY I put up 4 large trees 7.5 foot trees(Angel Tree (all angels are handmade by my dear mother), snowman tree, nutcracker tree and my handmade ornaments tree)and an array of smaller trees that I scatter throughout the house-but this year I am only putting up one large tree-I still have my smaller trees throughout but just the one large tree this year :) I decided that I needed to minamalize this year due to health issues with family members that may need much care in the next couple of months and I don't really see my hubby taking down all my decorations if I am unavailable to do so :) Actually, he WOULD take them down because he is such a sweetheart.....-I am just afraid of how he may pack them away...LOL!!
Anyway-here are the darling ornies I received from Tricia :)
This gingerbread house...

And this little fellow...

And this one :) TOO CUTE!!!

Someone (sorry-I had so many email I don't recall who asked what at the moment) asked me about what type lighting I use to stitch. I use a daylight floor lamp in my main stitching chair...I LOVE it and I couldn't do without it. I also have a daylight table lamp and an Ott travel light...all which are VERY good lighting for stitching.
Someone else asked about my scroll rods and stands...I have 2 floor stands-one Gazelle and one American Dream-both which are wonderful-however the American Dream floorstand is HUGE!!! I was unaware it was so large when I ordered it. I also have 2 lapstands-one EZ stitch system, which I LOVE and an Elan lapstand. I just use the EZ scroll rods AND q-snaps with all my stands. Pics of my stands can be found in previous posts :)
Another Question was about dust and how I dust all my displays....I dust them the same way I do other displays in my home-I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the swiffer dusting systems :) Works GREAT!!
And finally, someone wanted to know if I let people handle my smalls displays...ABSOLUTELY!!!!!-pick them up-look at them, fondle them, enjoy them :)

Thank you so much for your visits and email (I have quite a few email from last post to reply to-I am on my way out with my best friend again today and have not had time to answer yet-I will *try* to do that when I get home this afternoon)I appreciate them and YOU so very much :) And thank YOU again, Tricia!! LOVE them!!

Have a most wonderful day wherever you are and remember to hug a friend!! They are priceless :)

I just have to say............I am BLESSED :)

There may be bloggers/stitcher's out there and in the real world that have a lot more friends than I do....but I have the BEST most caring friends in the blogging world and real world! I just can't say how blessed I feel by some of you...THANK you so much for the kindness and love you all have shown me-I have received some of the sweetest most thoughtful email the last few weeks....it's VERY humbling :) I had more than one email that started out..."Hi Becky, I hate to bother you"...WHAT??? Bother me?? NEVER!!! I love hearing from you all-it's NEVER a bother :) Please feel free to contact me if you like :) I have so enjoyed hearing from old friends and new friends alike :) I love you all :)

This is for those that have emailed and commented about how I display my collection of stitching...here are a few pics of some of my displays :) They change often :)I'm a "tweeker" too :) PLUS I keep adding smalls to them through my own stitching as well as gifts/exchanges :) :) :)

I have a thing for old sewing kits/baskets and I found this blue lined one at an antique shop earlier this year!! :)

And while I am here...here is how I displayed my gingerbread rolling pin-I decided to display it underneath the cabinet... LOVE IT!!

AND my nutcracker collection for Kathy...Kathy-this is last years pic and one from 2006- (plus I have had 3 more years of collectiing nutcrackers that are not pictured :) )my den is totally different now with differnt furniture as well as no entertainment center as hubby got a 42 inch TV for Father's Day this year :) :) so the room is set up differently now with less furniture :) We have a family room too-but this is where hubby and I spend most of our time :)

Linda asked if I have a big house to hold all my treasures......well yes, it's 2050 square feet...but some how that is still not enough...ROFL!

Still stitching away...still can't share :)

As always dear friends and readers...Thank you for taking time from your day to visit with me :) I TREASURE you all :) Please come again!

BIG hugs and much love from SC :)

Stash taking over???? **Edited to answer Sharon** EDITED again for questions**

I had a couple of comments as to if I were running out of room for stash or if it were taking over my home...the answer is NO :) I am very fortunate to have a stitching room all to myself and when my DD moves out I can expand my stitching room to twice the size!! :) Though it is much smaller than I would like-I love it just the same and spend much time in it :) I have cross stitch displayed all over my home. I have smalls displayed throughout my home and over 60 framed pieces on my walls. The items that are not displayed throughout my home for whatever reason be it not the season/holiday for them (I DO display most all of my stitching, exchanges and gifts throughout my home at some point during the year) are also in my stitching room. This is also where I do all my finishing. I have two 5 shelf units (not showing them as they are in desperate need of organizing-though you can see one peeking out here in this photo)that hold all my finishing supplies.

All my charts are filed away in this 4 drawer file cabinet with folders and labeled :)(My dad's plant is closing and he got me an industrial 5 drawer file cabinet last week-with 250 file folders-it's HUGE-I guess I need to reorganize and move my charts over to it as this one is full and it will hold a great deal more)

These hold all my DMC -I can easly see when I need to replace a color. My specialty fibers and my kits are in the two 5 drawer chests underneath my DMC storage.

This is the table I work at when doing finishing. Hubby added some PCV pipe to the legs to bring it up high enough for my comfort. The cabinet underneath holds all my fabrics

This is one of my most FAVORITE places to be :) I love being in my stitching room-it is another simple thing that makes my heart happy :) :)

So, there you see....I do not have stash running amuck at my house :) It has it's own room!!!! LOL!!!

Sharon, I have my FAVORITE stitching chair and it's in the den so I can be with my family as well as watch TV :) This is a pic of it tonight...shhhh there is a giftie being stitched :)

EDITED FOR QUESTIONS :)
Questions from Terri-one of my readers :) After receiving pretty much the same questions from a couple of others-I thought I would post my answers to Terri here :)

Hi Becky,
I continue to be amazed at all that you stitch and actually get done (as opposed to me who ‘pretends’ to stitch but never quite finishes anything.) I think I have stitching ADHD combined with startitis, so I definitely need some help. I’ve had some questions while reading your blog and wondered if you’d be kind enough to help me so I can improve my HDs.

1) How much do you stitch each day/week?
It depends on if my hubby is off (he works 12 hour swing shifts and when he is off I try to spend as much time with him as possible-he has 14 days off a month-they are split into days-with a stretch of 7 days off in a row each month-what we call long off and we enjoy it SO much-BUT-again, my hubby is VERY supportive of my stitching-so that helps as well) and what I have planned for each day. Some times I only stitch an hour and other days I can stitch for the better part of a day. (SEE ANSWER #4 though to explain this better)
2) Do you rotate projects or are you a one-at-a-timer?
I used to rotate weekly-but as I grow older -I am 45, I find that I just go with the flow and work on whatever is calling to me. I used to be a stickler for "time" management in my WIP's and worked on them weekly-but I just feel that life should be ENJOYED with each thing you do (again, I think that came with my age) so now it's all about whatever I feel like working on -on each given day :)
3) Do you work outside the home?
I did for 25 years in the school system and I still managed to stitch "almost" as much :) I am a SAHW now and couldn't be happier with my choice!
4)Regardless of the answer to #3, how do you fit in housework and other necessities?
This is where I found things changed for me. (I used to be an internet junkie when I first got online-over 10 years ago and for the first 2 years I spent WAY too much time online so I had to READJUST my thinking and my priorities) NOW I NEVER get on the computer or stitch until everything I need to take care of in the house is done (I must admit-I am a bit of a neat freak and do not like for anything to be out of place and I actually ENJOY cleaning)-with the exception of laundry as I can stitch while it is washing/drying...but the first thing I do each day is take care of housework and errands. I just told Amy Friday that I spent two hours re-organizing my pantry. I do deep cleaning as well as everyday cleaning weekly-It all works out for me and I don't feel like I am missing anything...especially time with my family or my stitching. MY home is always clean and I STILL enjoy my stitching :)

Thank you all so VERY much for your comments and your sweeter than sweet emails :) You are all so very thoughtful and I treasure YOU :)
Please do come again :)
Love and hugs from SC :)

Another motif on Q&Q :)

I have been busily stitching away on a few Christmas gifts for a few special people so I have nothing to show here on my blog when I am "giftie stitching"...but I did put the gifts aside today because I was having Quaker and Quilts withdrawal!!! I just had to pull it out and stitch on it for a little while :) I stitched another quaker motif :) LOVE IT!!!! I just cannot say enough about how wonderful this project is!!! It's back to gift stitching :)

Design: Quakers and Quilts
Designer: Rosewood Manor

This is for all those sweethearts that sent me Gingerbread men items last year :)

I had several readers send gingerbread men related items last year (thank you sweet readers...you know who you are) as they knew I wanted to do my kitchen in Gingerbread men this year...alas, I don't have enough for the tree I wanted to use in the kitchen this year-BUT, I did decorate a small one with the items I received :) I am "still" working on the kitchen-but will probably have a BETTER collection of gingerbread items next year :)
I used some of my gingerbread men cookie cutters and tied red/white gingham ribbon through them to hang them-I also painted some unfinished rolling pins and added the gingham ribbon to those as well :)

Thanks for stopping by :) I appreciate your visits...Please come again :)

BTW-not going to get into what caused my BOOBOO-let's just say there was some unexpected excitement in our storage building that involved a trapped animal-and my finger is a result of hubby's "plan" to get the animal out of the building!!! :) :)
NUFF SAID????

I got a BOOBOO :( :( :( :( **EDITED FOR FLOWERS**

Look what I did to my right thumb this afternoon :( It's most difficult to type and I can't stitch at the moment-it's still throbbing as I was a BIG baby and would not let hubby (who is EMT certified) burst it. He went to a meeting and said when he gets home he WILL be taking care of it...I freak on stuff like this and it's made me nauseous looking at it and thinking about him opening it up to relieve the blood that's built up...EEK!!!!! I NEED some good thoughts...ROFL!! if you can spare a few !! LOL! You may even want to send flowers.... All kidding aside-it REALLY is very sore-and I REALLY am not looking forward to him working on it-BUT-I can't stitch right now and we all know that has TO BE rectified!!
If you live close enough to me....you may hear me screaming when he "takes" care of it!! I have a LOW (that probably should say NO) tolerance for pain!!!

LOOK what I got from Kathy A...ROFL!! Thank you so much, Kathy-they helped more than you will know!!! hehe!! I just LOVE my online friends :)

Thanks for stopping by :) I appreciate your visits :) Please come again :)

Scissors collection for Nina :) **edited for a pic of the antique scissors**

Nina asked last month if I would share my collection of scissors...it is not near the collection that others have-but I DO love my scissors and I add to them every chance I get. I am excited as I am going to be receiving a NEW "old" pair this month as DD's boyfriend is bringing them to me when he comes for a visit later this month :) My mom is crocheting me something to go under my scissors (and I have a backing fabric that goes under the crochet item she is working on-but with her shoulder continuing to bother her-she hasn't had a chance to finish it yet :) :) This is a glass enclosed display :) I have a few pair that are not shown-as they are with kits that I have not stitched yet-nor did I take the scissors from any of my scissors pockets and or keepers :)Or the pair of ginghers I am using currently :)
My favorite pair of scissors are the Ginghers in the bottom left corner-they are the SHARPEST moist pointiest(is that a word...) that I have-they were more than I wanted to spend on scissors-but I got them at a 40% discount when I worked for my LNS. They are AWESOME and I couldn't imagine not having them for some of the over one boo-boos that are made!!

These are the antique scissors that a lot of you have commented on (top left in display case)-we were fortunate and found these on one of our many "treasure" hunts...they need to be cleaned up-we have a jeweler friend that can do that for me.

Look at all these glorious goodies he bought me today :) I honestly can't say enough about all these wonderful Praiseworthy Stitches charts...the models for each of them are stitched and on display at my LNS and they are all just so gorgeous! The cover models do nothing for these...but the stitched models are to die for. I can honestly say I would NOT have purchased the charts if I had not seen the stitched models...NOW, I can't wait to start on some of them...I can see my WIP's will grow drastically in the next few weeks (after I get some gifties stitched for friends) AND 3 pair of GORGEOUS scissors...need I say more???

For all you Quilt lovers out there....

I have been working (having FUN is more like it) in my craft room for the past couple of weeks. I am doing some cleaning and getting rid of things before the holiday decorating begins and before we have DD's boyfriend come in for a 2 week visit in November. The holidays always spur me to clean up and get rid of- as does having company :) So, you can benefit from my "decluttering" :)
This draw is for 11 Quilting Books/Magazines :) They are all in wonderful condition :) They have GREAT patterns in them as well as great instructions and very useful techniques!
Pic is clickable for larger views :)

If you would like a chance to have your name drawn, please leave a comment on this post only and I will draw a name (hmmm, let's spread this one out a bit so I don't have so much to mail at once, with all the giveaways and exchanges I have going on) on Thanksgiving Day :)

Back to my organization...you never know what else I will find I don't need-I would rather offer it here to you all than throw things away :) Hope that's OK with you guys :)

Thank you again for your many visits, comments, emails and friendships-you are all so sweet and I enjoy hearing from you :) Please do come again :)

Iris in October (almost November)?? And hand-made buttons and pin heads :)

YES, I have had Iris blooming for the past month and I cut these just this morning for our table :) I ADORE Iris and have been quite surprised to have them blooming this late in the year :) Aren't they just gorgeous??

Here are a few of my recent button/pin head creations. I plan to make quite a few more-different styles/designs. You know I have to have some beehives in there are well :)
So far I have made...Red birds, red and yellow flowers, yellow roses, stars, hearts, pumpkins. I really enjoy making them. If you haven't tried polymer clays, you really should give it a try. I used to make dough art-salt dough ornaments to sell-one year alone I sold over $800.00 in salt dough ornaments-it allowed me to buy my hubby that special rifle he wanted for Christmas that year. Polymer clay is SO much easier to use :)

Having fun with fabrics !!! AND A GIVEAWAY!

I have had a couple of request to share my fabrics that I dyed last weekend :) and I honestly keep forgetting-my apologies. (also, I have had a request to share my scissors, but have yet to do that either...soon, Nina-I promise) So, here ya go :) I enjoy dyeing fabrics and it really helps when you need something for a special project and really do not have it on hand and are not going to be dropping by your LNS anytime soon. I bought 1/2 yd of 36ct and 1/2 yd of 40ct that I have yet to dye...I hope to do that soon-these are all 28/32cts with the exception of 1 or 2 :) AND, I have the BEST time coming up with names for them so I can label them before putting them away :) LOL!
PICS ARE CLICKABLE!

I am having another giveaway for this stitched piece. If you would like to throw your name in the draw for it-please leave a comment on this post only and tell me what finish would work best for this piece and I will draw a name for it next week. AND I will do the finishing choice of the name chosen.

My stitching was stopped in it's tracks...

I had a fibro flare up for 2 days and I was not able to stitch on Quakers and Quilts...but the pain is under control now and I hope to get back to Q&Q as I have missed stitching on it :)

I was able to do the finshing on a Christmas Ornament today though that I am offering as a little incentive for the Let's Stitch group :) I just love everything about this design. Isn't it just too adorable??? I have had it stitched for a bit and it was waiting for the perfect finishing. This is my second time stitching this particular design as I stitched it for myself a few years back and finished it into a cube.

Quaker Motif :) **EDITED TO ANSWER JOY**

I am REALLY trying to "influence" some of you that are wanting to start this :) Look at the BEAUTIFUL colors in this BEAUTIFUL Quaker motif :) I am honestly just loving this piece so much :) Actually I am thankful for this piece as it makes me happy :) Every morning after I have read my daily Bible reading-I put a scripture on the dry erase board on our fridge so that my family and I will be reminded throughout the day-who is in charge and why we are so blessed....today I added along with the scripture that I was blessed by this Happy piece and believe it or not, my family GETS that about me :) -I learned a long time ago to look for joy in small things :):)

Oh...I knew I would LOVE it.....

What a FUN stitch this one is :) I just adore everything about it. I love the design, the fabric and the fibers are an ABSOLUTE joy to work with-I would definitely recommend them-however, remember I am using one thread over 2 and I LOVE it-not sure how I would like the 3 ply (I am not fond of 28ct fabric that the design calls for and I have never liked stitching with anything more than 2 ply :)). This is my progress from last night- I could hardly put it down long enough to take a pic of my progress....if you are thinking of starting this one, you will not be disappointed :) I haven't gotten to stitch today as we have been gone all day-but I do plan to put more stitches in tonight :)
The colors are amazing in this one. I love the earth-tone rich colors and this one lends itself to them beautifully! Karen did an amazing job designing this one!
I am stitching it by page and this is page 1-I still have the Quaker motif to finish up and the band under it before moving on to page 2 :)

Ready to go....

I "tried" to resist, but to no avail... I am going to start Rosewood Manor's Quakers and Quilts. I have everything ready to start it tonight :) I decided to go with 40ct. Lakeside Linen Lintel. I am excited to sit down and put the first stitches in tonight as I have drooled over this one for so long :)

Design: Quakers and Quilts
Designer: Rosewood Manor
Design Size: 15 x 8
Fabric: 40 ct. Lakeside Linen Lintel
Fibers: Valdani Floss (I chose these as this is the fibers that are recommended and Carol is stitching her piece in and it looks absolutely gorgeous)I will be stitching 1 over 2 with the Valdani fibers
Start Date: 10-19-2009

I have had quite a few comments about others getting ready to start this piece. Feel free to join me-I would love to have you stitching along with me-I am not going to be "formal" in stitching (I don't do well with "formal" SAL's )-I may stitch on it until it is finished, I may stitch on it only when it calls to me (CALLING VERY LOUDLY RIGHT NOW)-it depends on how it goes once I get started-you know sometimes you build yourself up for a project only to find you don't enjoy it that much once you get started...I don't think this will be one of those times as this piece is really gorgeous and I am LOVING the way Carol's is stitching up :) SO, feel free to let me know if you are stitching it and we'll correspond with each other :)

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers for my grandmother (no news yet-it's hurry up and wait-as it usually is where doctors are concerned) and my family-your comments and email are so comforting to me :) It's hard to explain-but I know there are those of you out there that totally understand what I mean :)

Thanks for stopping by :) Your visits are very appreciated :) Please do come again :)

Saturday Treasures....

I haven't been to the consignment/antique shops in quite some time...I decided today was a perfect day for it. It's COLD and rainy here in my neck of the woods...so I took off for a bit and found a couple of "treasures". I rescued another cross stitch piece-it's a LOVELY Alphabet Sampler. It's not necessarily my colors, but I have a weakness for any cross stitch I find, looking for a new home-it's hard for me to leave them in shops, after someone put such work/talent into them-so this treasure has a NEW home with me :) Isn't is quite lovely and there is a lot of time/love that went into this piece.
Pics are clickable for larger views.

And look at these beauties...oh, I have a weakness for boxes/baskets and the like-so these babies had to come home with me too :) They are in perfect shape!

Still no news on my grandmother as of yet today-she had to see a specialist out of town-my mom has not called to let me know anything yet-but THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your wishes for her-please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers :) They mean a GREAT deal to me and speak volumes :)

I am off to dye some fabrics and make a few buttons and pin heads :) Have a BEAUTIFUL day and enjoy your friends and family-they are PRICELESS!!

Love and hugs from SC :)

Yummy Stash :)

I forgot to take a picture of the stash I got last week (mostly Market goodies-which were ALL wonderful -I have put it all away-so no pic of it:))-but a special friend is interested in what I purchased today...so here you go, Julianne -today's stash haul :):)
I have been hand dyeing my own fabrics lately, so I got a 1/2 yard cut of 40ct and 36ct that I plan to turn into some wonderfully delicious colors over the weekend :)
I have DROOLED over Rosewood Manors Quakers and Quilts with each visit to my LNS as Carol is stitching it now and has the WIP at the shop...it's just absolutely gorgeous so I HAD to purchase it after months of drooooooooooooling :) :) :)
Pics are clickable :)

AND, new scissors-I think everyone knows how much I LOVE scissors :)I just love these!!

I stitched on Herb Window Garden tonight along with the Let's Stitch group-my goal was to get the white stitched in the window frames...I did meet that goal and now am down to b/s only. I won't bore you with a pic tonight :) BUT I can't thank you all enough that have left a comment about Herb Window Garden :)

Good luck, hugs, love, faith and strength to my Grandmother as she under goes testing and consultation tomorrow morning. I love you bunches I know you are scared-remember who is in control :) I am praying for you!!!

Have a most lovely weekend friends-thanks for stopping by-your visits/comments and emails are so very appreciated :)

Hopefully last update before a finish :)

I can only imagine how sick you must be of seeing this one....I am down to just a little cross stitch left (the white inside the grey window outlines)and then it's on to the backstitching. There is a great deal of b/s though :)
I have decided to put this away until Friday night and stitch on it during the Let's Stitch SAT :)
Thank you for your comments/support while I have been plugging away at this long standing WIP :) It's good to be so close to a finish :)

Herb Window Garden and personal Halloween exchange :)

I was invited to take part in a personal Halloween exchange with one of my favorite friends, Paula C :) She is such a sweetheart-she and I exchanged Halloween gifties last year as well as she accepted my invitation to a personal Halloween exchange :) I was excited to exchange with her. We exchanged Halloween ornaments and she just SPOILED me so much-I can't thank you enough, Paula :) I just love everything (and hubby thanks you for your thoughtfulness in sending him a goodie bag of his favorite treat)and can't thank you enough for your generosity.

I can't share what I sent Paula, as I forgot to take a pic. I will have to wait until Paula can share a pic with me :)

Herb Window Garden is receiving all my stitching attention these days as I would REALLY love to finish it soon. I LOVED this piece when I started it back in 2005-but soon fell out of love with it because it is stitched on 28 count and I SO prefer 32 count or higher. After pulling all my WIP's out though I decided that I wanted to get this one done as I STILL love the design (even though I am not thrilled with the fabric)-and it will look wonderful in my kitchen. I still have the border (herb names in border) a corner motif, the lace under the last row of herbs and ALL the backstitching yet to stitch on this piece.
I will be offering this chart (calls for DMC) as a giveaway when I am finished with it. If you would like your name added to the giveaway please let me know and I will draw a name from those interested :) I just cannot get a good pic of this no matter what I try-please excuse the wrinkles as well-stitching in hand and I didn't press it before the pic :)

I have so many new Market designs calling to me (Noella's Christmas Berry Kit-by Just Nan is REALLY screaming at me-though it wouldn't take long at all to stitch I am going to wait) and can't wait to choose something-but for now I am going to stay with Herb Window Garden and see if I can get it finished in the next few weeks.

Thank you all so very much for stopping by-I appreciate your visits so much! Please do come again :)

Herb Window Garden update...

Hello friends :) Thank you all so much for your get well comments and emails. I am still not feeling like myself and have had a "sluggish" week. I hope this new week proves to be better :) I have to report for Jury Duty tomorrow (this is my 6th time being pulled for Jury Duty)-not feeling well on top of Jury Duty isn't going to be much fun.

I have made some progress on Herb Window Garden. I have been "craving" a new start, but honestly have not felt like going through my stash to pick one-so I continued with my WIP's :)
I have one more Herb to stitch on this-then it will be finishing the border, names of the herbs and the windows dividing each herb and of course ALL the backstitching. I will probably work on something else for awhile now-maybe even find the energy to start that new project!!

Some WIP stitching, Tuesday SAL and a gift :)

I haven't been feeling very well...they think I may have another cyst forming-like the one that put me in the hospital last year :( I have been in moderate pain for more than a week now and just feeling REALLY lousy. I feel some better today and thought I would take this opportunity to post to my blog :)
I haven't felt like doing much other than some stitching. I finished the stitching for my personal Halloween ornament exchange with Paula and I stitched my ornament for the ornament swap-it's not due out until November 1, but my grandmother is having heart surgery next month and I am unsure how things will play out as far as my stitching goes so I have tried to get all my exchanges stitched. I can't share them until I mail them out and they are received, but I do have some WIP's I can share :)
Herb Window Garden-I have been working on the 3rd to the last herb :)

Spooky Witch Hat

ADORABLE and SUCH fun (ok, other than the allergy I had to the fabric :) )-I just loved everything about this and the finishing was just as fun as the stitching :) What a great addition to my Halloween decorations!
I changed just a couple of things...I didn't care for the pink garland on the ghosts, so I left it off and I changed the pink garland joining the spiders to black.

It's a Giveaway :)

I wasn't going to do any more giveaways because of a comment someone made about some of the giveaways going on (I am not trying to outdo the next person with visitor numbers, and most of the stitchers I know that offer giveaways are not trying to prove anything either!!!-I am just happy to have my regular visitors and share with them all-however few or many they may be)...-but let's face it, God blessed me with a "giving spirit" AND I adore giving and it makes me so HAPPY --so to all my loyal readers and all the new friends I have made over the summer and all my old friends (loves you all)I am having a giveaway. Here's what you have a chance to win :)
The Design is Winter by Elizabeth's Designs. It is a gorgeous design. It is finished off as a very simple stitching book. It has a pocket on each of the inside flaps. One pocket is trimmed with lace. The opposite side has no lace on the pocket-but some lace added to the top. It easily holds the small charts in the pockets. If you don't want to use it as a book-it can be easily displayed as a stand up by opening it slightly .

Yummy Stash :)

OOOH, too much of a good thing??? Only if deciding what to stitch first is an issue :) :) :) LOL!! I had to run some errands today (my dd is flying out to Ca. for a week next week and I am running around trying to do things for her) and could not resist, stopping by my LNS-to pick up my order :)actually the truck kinda went there on it's own ;)like it was on auto pilot!!!!
I got so many wonderful new goodies I don't know where to start :) Though that JN Witch Hat is TOO adorable :)
Pic is clickable

No stitching for me for the past two days -again, on the go constantly getting things ready for DD and hubby has been off work for a few days-he wanted me to play frisbee golf on the Wii last night-I love that game-it's addictive and we played from 8:30pm until 1:15am :) HE goes back to work tomorrow and I am hoping to start a new project from my LNS trip tonight :)

St. Peter's Fair :)

Today Julianne and I started our SB SAL :) I am stitching St. Peter's Fair. This was a hand me down chart from a friend-so I am converting it to DMC and stitching it on 40ct. fabric (as I did Bee Keeper's Cottage last year) :)
I had a very late start as I had an incident with my eye this morning which prohibited my vision for the better part of the day-but I love the part I have stitched and look forward to next Tuesday :)

I would also like to thank Julianne for the generous and thoughtful gift she sent to me last week. I received SB's Thankful Heart kit! WOW, it's gorgeous and I love it so much and look forward to stitching it someday. Thank you again my sweet friend :)

I am not familiar with the designer of the ornament I received as it was not included in the information :) Maybe Roberta will be kind enough to share with us :)

Thank you all so much for stopping by :) I appreciate your visits, comments and emails :) Please do come again :)

Spook-A-Boo -Stithcing complete :)

I just love this one and had the best time stitching it :) I had to "improvise" as there was TOO much blank space near the center, so I added the bats-I think they work well and when I add the button I have picked out to the center it-it will look great!!
I plan to do the finishing this evening....so I will probably be back later tonight with the actual Biscornu :)
Isn't it such a FUN design???

Can you see the two spiderwebs?? They are stitched in blending filament and do not show up well in the pic-but when the light hits them-they look AWESOME!! :)

Sharon, I usually do not stitch a bottom on a biscornu as I display them in a basket and only the top shows. I will stitch the bottom however if it is different than the top-otherwise I just stitch the top side :)-however I may stitch something in the 4 corners of the bottom..haven't decided yet :)

Nina, this will be my 20th Biscornu. I have received 8 as gifts and/or exchanges and the others I have stitched for myself :)

Thank you all so very much for your continued visits. I appreciate them so much and hope you will come again :)

Be back later with the biscornu :)

My latest finishes :) (picture heavy)

I have had numerous email about returning to blogging and if anything is wrong or has happened...I just got so burnt out on trying to keep up with all the blogs I read. I feel so bad when I am posting but not reading/commenting so I needed a break from blogging :) I am TRULY OK-nothing is wrong as far as the blogging community goes-just one of those things that happens at times when some of us need a break to regroup and recharge our batteries :) I honestly can't thank you enough for caring though :)

Anyway, here are my latest finishes :) I have received some really kind email about them and YES, I have had a great deal of fun stitching and finishing these biscornu :) I am addicted to them right now :)

I was a nervous wreck, but there was no need for that as it went perfectly and was truly a great deal of FUN and I have been asked to teach another finishing class next month!

4 WIP updates...and lovely, lovely ornaments!!!

We have been so busy around here with vacations and family visiting for birthday celebrations and the 4th holiday that I haven't had a great many opportunities to stitch-however, I wouldn't change a minute of the past few weeks-it's been great. OK...I take part of that back-I would change the fact that I am not feeling very well after the holiday as I got waaaaaaaaay too much sun and just overdid it a bit and it caught up with me and I am not feeling very well at all for the past several days-I hurt my right shoulder last week and it has really bothered me something terrible every day :( other than that, I wouldn't change a thing, we had a blast!

Here are my updates of the WIP's I was working on before and after the holiday. I made some GREAT progress on a couple of them :)

3 WIP's on the go :) **EDITED To answer questions**

We had a very busy weekend last weekend with our son's 26th B-day and my mom and dad's anniversary and of course Father's day for My dad, hubby and FIL :) I didn't get to stitch at all as the weekend was full of celebrations (our cup runneth over with family :) PRICELESS!!)- and I really missed putting needle to fabric :)so, in place of actually stitching, I was doing inventory in my mind as to what projects I had on the go and how I could stitch on them daily-get them finished and add a few more projects to the works :) :) I only have 6 WIP's and no UFO's. I decided that I would put a WIP in each of my 3 stitching areas and stitch when I feel like it on whatever project is on the frame at the time :) I have dust covers for them all-so if something is not getting my attention for a few days it
