Gingerbread gifties...

LOOKIE what the mailman brought me from Tricia (aka Pat, whom I have known for many years and love to pieces :)!!!!!) I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY (enough really's?????)wish Tricia would start a blog. I have begged for a couple of years now, but alas she has not been bitten by the blogging bug :) I can see a bigger tree next year for my gingerbread collection :) YAY!!
Tracy asked me how many trees I put up in my home for Christmas.....USUALLY I put up 4 large trees 7.5 foot trees(Angel Tree (all angels are handmade by my dear mother), snowman tree, nutcracker tree and my handmade ornaments tree)and an array of smaller trees that I scatter throughout the house-but this year I am only putting up one large tree-I still have my smaller trees throughout but just the one large tree this year :) I decided that I needed to minamalize this year due to health issues with family members that may need much care in the next couple of months and I don't really see my hubby taking down all my decorations if I am unavailable to do so :) Actually, he WOULD take them down because he is such a sweetheart.....-I am just afraid of how he may pack them away...LOL!!
Anyway-here are the darling ornies I received from Tricia :)
This gingerbread house...

And this little fellow...

And this one :) TOO CUTE!!!

Someone (sorry-I had so many email I don't recall who asked what at the moment) asked me about what type lighting I use to stitch. I use a daylight floor lamp in my main stitching chair...I LOVE it and I couldn't do without it. I also have a daylight table lamp and an Ott travel light...all which are VERY good lighting for stitching.
Someone else asked about my scroll rods and stands...I have 2 floor stands-one Gazelle and one American Dream-both which are wonderful-however the American Dream floorstand is HUGE!!! I was unaware it was so large when I ordered it. I also have 2 lapstands-one EZ stitch system, which I LOVE and an Elan lapstand. I just use the EZ scroll rods AND q-snaps with all my stands. Pics of my stands can be found in previous posts :)
Another Question was about dust and how I dust all my displays....I dust them the same way I do other displays in my home-I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the swiffer dusting systems :) Works GREAT!!
And finally, someone wanted to know if I let people handle my smalls displays...ABSOLUTELY!!!!!-pick them up-look at them, fondle them, enjoy them :)

Thank you so much for your visits and email (I have quite a few email from last post to reply to-I am on my way out with my best friend again today and have not had time to answer yet-I will *try* to do that when I get home this afternoon)I appreciate them and YOU so very much :) And thank YOU again, Tricia!! LOVE them!!

Have a most wonderful day wherever you are and remember to hug a friend!! They are priceless :)

I just have to say............I am BLESSED :)

There may be bloggers/stitcher's out there and in the real world that have a lot more friends than I do....but I have the BEST most caring friends in the blogging world and real world! I just can't say how blessed I feel by some of you...THANK you so much for the kindness and love you all have shown me-I have received some of the sweetest most thoughtful email the last few weeks....it's VERY humbling :) I had more than one email that started out..."Hi Becky, I hate to bother you"...WHAT??? Bother me?? NEVER!!! I love hearing from you all-it's NEVER a bother :) Please feel free to contact me if you like :) I have so enjoyed hearing from old friends and new friends alike :) I love you all :)

This is for those that have emailed and commented about how I display my collection of stitching...here are a few pics of some of my displays :) They change often :)I'm a "tweeker" too :) PLUS I keep adding smalls to them through my own stitching as well as gifts/exchanges :) :) :)

I have a thing for old sewing kits/baskets and I found this blue lined one at an antique shop earlier this year!! :)

And while I am here...here is how I displayed my gingerbread rolling pin-I decided to display it underneath the cabinet... LOVE IT!!

AND my nutcracker collection for Kathy...Kathy-this is last years pic and one from 2006- (plus I have had 3 more years of collectiing nutcrackers that are not pictured :) )my den is totally different now with differnt furniture as well as no entertainment center as hubby got a 42 inch TV for Father's Day this year :) :) so the room is set up differently now with less furniture :) We have a family room too-but this is where hubby and I spend most of our time :)

Linda asked if I have a big house to hold all my treasures......well yes, it's 2050 square feet...but some how that is still not enough...ROFL!

Still stitching away...still can't share :)

As always dear friends and readers...Thank you for taking time from your day to visit with me :) I TREASURE you all :) Please come again!

BIG hugs and much love from SC :)

Stash taking over???? **Edited to answer Sharon** EDITED again for questions**

I had a couple of comments as to if I were running out of room for stash or if it were taking over my home...the answer is NO :) I am very fortunate to have a stitching room all to myself and when my DD moves out I can expand my stitching room to twice the size!! :) Though it is much smaller than I would like-I love it just the same and spend much time in it :) I have cross stitch displayed all over my home. I have smalls displayed throughout my home and over 60 framed pieces on my walls. The items that are not displayed throughout my home for whatever reason be it not the season/holiday for them (I DO display most all of my stitching, exchanges and gifts throughout my home at some point during the year) are also in my stitching room. This is also where I do all my finishing. I have two 5 shelf units (not showing them as they are in desperate need of organizing-though you can see one peeking out here in this photo)that hold all my finishing supplies.

All my charts are filed away in this 4 drawer file cabinet with folders and labeled :)(My dad's plant is closing and he got me an industrial 5 drawer file cabinet last week-with 250 file folders-it's HUGE-I guess I need to reorganize and move my charts over to it as this one is full and it will hold a great deal more)

These hold all my DMC -I can easly see when I need to replace a color. My specialty fibers and my kits are in the two 5 drawer chests underneath my DMC storage.

This is the table I work at when doing finishing. Hubby added some PCV pipe to the legs to bring it up high enough for my comfort. The cabinet underneath holds all my fabrics

This is one of my most FAVORITE places to be :) I love being in my stitching room-it is another simple thing that makes my heart happy :) :)

So, there you see....I do not have stash running amuck at my house :) It has it's own room!!!! LOL!!!

Sharon, I have my FAVORITE stitching chair and it's in the den so I can be with my family as well as watch TV :) This is a pic of it tonight...shhhh there is a giftie being stitched :)

EDITED FOR QUESTIONS :)
Questions from Terri-one of my readers :) After receiving pretty much the same questions from a couple of others-I thought I would post my answers to Terri here :)

Hi Becky,
I continue to be amazed at all that you stitch and actually get done (as opposed to me who ‘pretends’ to stitch but never quite finishes anything.) I think I have stitching ADHD combined with startitis, so I definitely need some help. I’ve had some questions while reading your blog and wondered if you’d be kind enough to help me so I can improve my HDs.

1) How much do you stitch each day/week?
It depends on if my hubby is off (he works 12 hour swing shifts and when he is off I try to spend as much time with him as possible-he has 14 days off a month-they are split into days-with a stretch of 7 days off in a row each month-what we call long off and we enjoy it SO much-BUT-again, my hubby is VERY supportive of my stitching-so that helps as well) and what I have planned for each day. Some times I only stitch an hour and other days I can stitch for the better part of a day. (SEE ANSWER #4 though to explain this better)
2) Do you rotate projects or are you a one-at-a-timer?
I used to rotate weekly-but as I grow older -I am 45, I find that I just go with the flow and work on whatever is calling to me. I used to be a stickler for "time" management in my WIP's and worked on them weekly-but I just feel that life should be ENJOYED with each thing you do (again, I think that came with my age) so now it's all about whatever I feel like working on -on each given day :)
3) Do you work outside the home?
I did for 25 years in the school system and I still managed to stitch "almost" as much :) I am a SAHW now and couldn't be happier with my choice!
4)Regardless of the answer to #3, how do you fit in housework and other necessities?
This is where I found things changed for me. (I used to be an internet junkie when I first got online-over 10 years ago and for the first 2 years I spent WAY too much time online so I had to READJUST my thinking and my priorities) NOW I NEVER get on the computer or stitch until everything I need to take care of in the house is done (I must admit-I am a bit of a neat freak and do not like for anything to be out of place and I actually ENJOY cleaning)-with the exception of laundry as I can stitch while it is washing/drying...but the first thing I do each day is take care of housework and errands. I just told Amy Friday that I spent two hours re-organizing my pantry. I do deep cleaning as well as everyday cleaning weekly-It all works out for me and I don't feel like I am missing anything...especially time with my family or my stitching. MY home is always clean and I STILL enjoy my stitching :)

Thank you all so VERY much for your comments and your sweeter than sweet emails :) You are all so very thoughtful and I treasure YOU :)
Please do come again :)
Love and hugs from SC :)

Another motif on Q&Q :)

I have been busily stitching away on a few Christmas gifts for a few special people so I have nothing to show here on my blog when I am "giftie stitching"...but I did put the gifts aside today because I was having Quaker and Quilts withdrawal!!! I just had to pull it out and stitch on it for a little while :) I stitched another quaker motif :) LOVE IT!!!! I just cannot say enough about how wonderful this project is!!! It's back to gift stitching :)

Design: Quakers and Quilts
Designer: Rosewood Manor
Design Size: 15 x 8

I got some stash today from Jan....I ordered all 3 of her Samplers and they are just gorgeous. Jan has been a friend for MANY years and I always known she was so talented. I am SO happy to see that talent bloom!!! I just love the samplers, Jan!!

This is for all those sweethearts that sent me Gingerbread men items last year :)

I had several readers send gingerbread men related items last year (thank you sweet readers...you know who you are) as they knew I wanted to do my kitchen in Gingerbread men this year...alas, I don't have enough for the tree I wanted to use in the kitchen this year-BUT, I did decorate a small one with the items I received :) I am "still" working on the kitchen-but will probably have a BETTER collection of gingerbread items next year :)
I used some of my gingerbread men cookie cutters and tied red/white gingham ribbon through them to hang them-I also painted some unfinished rolling pins and added the gingham ribbon to those as well :)

Thanks for stopping by :) I appreciate your visits...Please come again :)

BTW-not going to get into what caused my BOOBOO-let's just say there was some unexpected excitement in our storage building that involved a trapped animal-and my finger is a result of hubby's "plan" to get the animal out of the building!!! :) :)
NUFF SAID????

I got a BOOBOO :( :( :( :( **EDITED FOR FLOWERS**

Look what I did to my right thumb this afternoon :( It's most difficult to type and I can't stitch at the moment-it's still throbbing as I was a BIG baby and would not let hubby (who is EMT certified) burst it. He went to a meeting and said when he gets home he WILL be taking care of it...I freak on stuff like this and it's made me nauseous looking at it and thinking about him opening it up to relieve the blood that's built up...EEK!!!!! I NEED some good thoughts...ROFL!! if you can spare a few !! LOL! You may even want to send flowers.... All kidding aside-it REALLY is very sore-and I REALLY am not looking forward to him working on it-BUT-I can't stitch right now and we all know that has TO BE rectified!!
If you live close enough to me....you may hear me screaming when he "takes" care of it!! I have a LOW (that probably should say NO) tolerance for pain!!!

LOOK what I got from Kathy A...ROFL!! Thank you so much, Kathy-they helped more than you will know!!! hehe!! I just LOVE my online friends :)

Thanks for stopping by :) I appreciate your visits :) Please come again :)

Scissors collection for Nina :) **edited for a pic of the antique scissors**

Nina asked last month if I would share my collection of scissors...it is not near the collection that others have-but I DO love my scissors and I add to them every chance I get. I am excited as I am going to be receiving a NEW "old" pair this month as DD's boyfriend is bringing them to me when he comes for a visit later this month :) My mom is crocheting me something to go under my scissors (and I have a backing fabric that goes under the crochet item she is working on-but with her shoulder continuing to bother her-she hasn't had a chance to finish it yet :) :) This is a glass enclosed display :) I have a few pair that are not shown-as they are with kits that I have not stitched yet-nor did I take the scissors from any of my scissors pockets and or keepers :)Or the pair of ginghers I am using currently :)
My favorite pair of scissors are the Ginghers in the bottom left corner-they are the SHARPEST moist pointiest(is that a word...) that I have-they were more than I wanted to spend on scissors-but I got them at a 40% discount when I worked for my LNS. They are AWESOME and I couldn't imagine not having them for some of the over one boo-boos that are made!!

These are the antique scissors that a lot of you have commented on (top left in display case)-we were fortunate and found these on one of our many "treasure" hunts...they need to be cleaned up-we have a jeweler friend that can do that for me.

The cover models do nothing for these...but the stitched models are to die for. I can honestly say I would NOT have purchased the charts if I had not seen the stitched models...NOW, I can't wait to start on some of them...I can see my WIP's will grow drastically in the next few weeks (after I get some gifties stitched for friends) AND 3 pair of GORGEOUS scissors...need I say more???

For all you Quilt lovers out there....

I have been working (having FUN is more like it) in my craft room for the past couple of weeks. I am doing some cleaning and getting rid of things before the holiday decorating begins and before we have DD's boyfriend come in for a 2 week visit in November. The holidays always spur me to clean up and get rid of- as does having company :) So, you can benefit from my "decluttering" :)
This draw is for 11 Quilting Books/Magazines :) They are all in wonderful condition :) They have GREAT patterns in them as well as great instructions and very useful techniques!
Pic is clickable for larger views :)

If you would like a chance to have your name drawn, please leave a comment on this post only and I will draw a name (hmmm, let's spread this one out a bit so I don't have so much to mail at once, with all the giveaways and exchanges I have going on) on Thanksgiving Day :)

Back to my organization...you never know what else I will find I don't need-I would rather offer it here to you all than throw things away :) Hope that's OK with you guys :)

Thank you again for your many visits, comments, emails and friendships-you are all so sweet and I enjoy hearing from you :) Please do come again :)

Iris in October (almost November)?? And hand-made buttons and pin heads :)

YES, I have had Iris blooming for the past month and I cut these just this morning for our table :) I ADORE Iris and have been quite surprised to have them blooming this late in the year :) Aren't they just gorgeous??

Here are a few of my recent button/pin head creations. I plan to make quite a few more-different styles/designs. You know I have to have some beehives in there are well :)
So far I have made...Red birds, red and yellow flowers, yellow roses, stars, hearts, pumpkins. I really enjoy making them. If you haven't tried polymer clays, you really should give it a try. I used to make dough art-salt dough ornaments to sell-one year alone I sold over $800.00 in salt dough ornaments-it allowed me to buy my hubby that special rifle he wanted for Christmas that year. Polymer clay is SO much easier to use :)

I chose to stitch SB's Spooky Sheep for Paula. I have wanted to stitch this one for quite some time now and found this to be the perfect opportunity. I added a beaded hanger of black and orange beads!

My stitching was stopped in it's tracks...

I had a fibro flare up for 2 days and I was not able to stitch on Quakers and Quilts...but the pain is under control now and I hope to get back to Q&Q as I have missed stitching on it :)

I was able to do the finshing on a Christmas Ornament today though that I am offering as a little incentive for the Let's Stitch group :) I just love everything about this design. Isn't it just too adorable??? I have had it stitched for a bit and it was waiting for the perfect finishing. This is my second time stitching this particular design as I stitched it for myself a few years back and finished it into a cube.

Quaker Motif :) **EDITED TO ANSWER JOY**

I am REALLY trying to "influence" some of you that are wanting to start this :) Look at the BEAUTIFUL colors in this BEAUTIFUL Quaker motif :) I am honestly just loving this piece so much :) Actually I am thankful for this piece as it makes me happy :) Every morning after I have read my daily Bible reading-I put a scripture on the dry erase board on our fridge so that my family and I will be reminded throughout the day-who is in charge and why we are so blessed....today I added along with the scripture that I was blessed by this Happy piece and believe it or not, my family GETS that about me :) -I learned a long time ago to look for joy in small things :):)

Design: Quakers and Quilts
Designer: Rosewood Manor
Design Size: 15 x 8
Fabric: 40 ct. Lakeside Linen Lintel
Fibers: Valdani Floss (I chose these as this is the fibers that are recommended and Carol is stitching her piece in and it looks absolutely gorgeous)I will be stitching 1 over 2 with the Valdani fibers

Joy, I am using the called for fibers :) The Valdani floss in the recommended colors :)

Oh...I knew I would LOVE it.....

What a FUN stitch this one is :) I just adore everything about it. I love the design, the fabric and the fibers are an ABSOLUTE joy to work with-I would definitely recommend them-however, remember I am using one thread over 2 and I LOVE it-not sure how I would like the 3 ply (I am not fond of 28ct fabric that the design calls for and I have never liked stitching with anything more than 2 ply :)). This is my progress from last night- I could hardly put it down long enough to take a pic of my progress....if you are thinking of starting this one, you will not be disappointed :) I haven't gotten to stitch today as we have been gone all day-but I do plan to put more stitches in tonight :)
The colors are amazing in this one. I love the earth-tone rich colors and this one lends itself to them beautifully! Karen did an amazing job designing this one!
I am stitching it by page and this is page 1-I still have the Quaker motif to finish up and the band under it before moving on to page 2 :)

Ready to go....

I "tried" to resist, but to no avail... I am going to start Rosewood Manor's Quakers and Quilts. I have everything ready to start it tonight :) I decided to go with 40ct. Lakeside Linen Lintel. I am excited to sit down and put the first stitches in tonight as I have drooled over this one for so long :)

Design: Quakers and Quilts
Designer: Rosewood Manor
Design Size: 15 x 8
Fabric: 40 ct. Lakeside Linen Lintel
Fibers: Valdani Floss (I chose these as this is the fibers that are recommended and Carol is stitching her piece in and it looks absolutely gorgeous)I will be stitching 1 over 2 with the Valdani fibers
Start Date: 10-19-2009

I have had quite a few comments about others getting ready to start this piece. Feel free to join me-I would love to have you stitching along with me-I am not going to be "formal" in stitching (I don't do well with "formal" SAL's )-I may stitch on it until it is finished, I may stitch on it only when it calls to me (CALLING VERY LOUDLY RIGHT NOW)-it depends on how it goes once I get started-you know sometimes you build yourself up for a project only to find you don't enjoy it that much once you get started...I don't think this will be one of those times as this piece is really gorgeous and I am LOVING the way Carol's is stitching up :) SO, feel free to let me know if you are stitching it and we'll correspond with each other :)

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers for my grandmother (no news yet-it's hurry up and wait-as it usually is where doctors are concerned) and my family-your comments and email are so comforting to me :) It's hard to explain-but I know there are those of you out there that totally understand what I mean :)

Thanks for stopping by :) Your visits are very appreciated :) Please do come again :)

Saturday Treasures....

I haven't been to the consignment/antique shops in quite some time...I decided today was a perfect day for it. It's COLD and rainy here in my neck of the woods...so I took off for a bit and found a couple of "treasures". I rescued another cross stitch piece-it's a LOVELY Alphabet Sampler. It's not necessarily my colors, but I have a weakness for any cross stitch I find, looking for a new home-it's hard for me to leave them in shops, after someone put such work/talent into them-so this treasure has a NEW home with me :) Isn't is quite lovely and there is a lot of time/love that went into this piece.
Pics are clickable for larger views.

And look at these beauties...oh, I have a weakness for boxes/baskets and the like-so these babies had to come home with me too :) They are in perfect shape!

Still no news on my grandmother as of yet today-she had to see a specialist out of town-my mom has not called to let me know anything yet-but THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your wishes for her-please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers :) They mean a GREAT deal to me and speak volumes :)

I am off to dye some fabrics and make a few buttons and pin heads :) Have a BEAUTIFUL day and enjoy your friends and family-they are PRICELESS!!

Love and hugs from SC :)

Yummy Stash :)

I forgot to take a picture of the stash I got last week (mostly Market goodies-which were ALL wonderful -I have put it all away-so no pic of it:))-but a special friend is interested in what I purchased today...so here you go, Julianne -today's stash haul :):)
I have been hand dyeing my own fabrics lately, so I got a 1/2 yard cut of 40ct and 36ct that I plan to turn into some wonderfully delicious colors over the weekend :)
I have DROOLED over Rosewood Manors Quakers and Quilts with each visit to my LNS as Carol is stitching it now and has the WIP at the shop...it's just absolutely gorgeous so I HAD to purchase it after months of drooooooooooooling :) :) :)
Pics are clickable :)

AND, new scissors-I think everyone knows how much I LOVE scissors :)I just love these!!

I stitched on Herb Window Garden tonight along with the Let's Stitch group-my goal was to get the white stitched in the window frames...I did meet that goal and now am down to b/s only. I won't bore you with a pic tonight :) BUT I can't thank you all enough that have left a comment about Herb Window Garden :)

Good luck, hugs, love, faith and strength to my Grandmother as she under goes testing and consultation tomorrow morning. I love you bunches I know you are scared-remember who is in control :) I am praying for you!!!

Have a most lovely weekend friends-thanks for stopping by-your visits/comments and emails are so very appreciated :)

Hopefully last update before a finish :)

I can only imagine how sick you must be of seeing this one....I am down to just a little cross stitch left (the white inside the grey window outlines)and then it's on to the backstitching. There is a great deal of b/s though :)
I have decided to put this away until Friday night and stitch on it during the Let's Stitch SAT :)
Thank you for your comments/support while I have been plugging away at this long standing WIP :) It's good to be so close to a finish :)

Herb Window Garden and personal Halloween exchange :)

I was invited to take part in a personal Halloween exchange with one of my favorite friends, Paula C :) She is such a sweetheart-she and I exchanged Halloween gifties last year as well as she accepted my invitation to a personal Halloween exchange :) I was excited to exchange with her. We exchanged Halloween ornaments and she just SPOILED me so much-I can't thank you enough, Paula :) I just love everything (and hubby thanks you for your thoughtfulness in sending him a goodie bag of his favorite treat)and can't thank you enough for your generosity.

I can't share what I sent Paula, as I forgot to take a pic. I will have to wait until Paula can share a pic with me :)

Herb Window Garden is receiving all my stitching attention these days as I would REALLY love to finish it soon. I LOVED this piece when I started it back in 2005-but soon fell out of love with it because it is stitched on 28 count and I SO prefer 32 count or higher. After pulling all my WIP's out though I decided that I wanted to get this one done as I STILL love the design (even though I am not thrilled with the fabric)-and it will look wonderful in my kitchen. I still have the border (herb names in border) a corner motif, the lace under the last row of herbs and ALL the backstitching yet to stitch on this piece.
I will be offering this chart (calls for DMC) as a giveaway when I am finished with it. If you would like your name added to the giveaway please let me know and I will draw a name from those interested :) I just cannot get a good pic of this no matter what I try-please excuse the wrinkles as well-stitching in hand and I didn't press it before the pic :)

I have so many new Market designs calling to me (Noella's Christmas Berry Kit-by Just Nan is REALLY screaming at me-though it wouldn't take long at all to stitch I am going to wait) and can't wait to choose something-but for now I am going to stay with Herb Window Garden and see if I can get it finished in the next few weeks.

Thank you all so very much for stopping by-I appreciate your visits so much! Please do come again :)

Herb Window Garden update...

Hello friends :) Thank you all so much for your get well comments and emails. I am still not feeling like myself and have had a "sluggish" week. I hope this new week proves to be better :) I have to report for Jury Duty tomorrow (this is my 6th time being pulled for Jury Duty)-not feeling well on top of Jury Duty isn't going to be much fun.

I have made some progress on Herb Window Garden. I have been "craving" a new start, but honestly have not felt like going through my stash to pick one-so I continued with my WIP's :)
I have one more Herb to stitch on this-then it will be finishing the border, names of the herbs and the windows dividing each herb and of course ALL the backstitching. I will probably work on something else for awhile now-maybe even find the energy to start that new project!!

Some WIP stitching, Tuesday SAL and a gift :)

I haven't been feeling very well...they think I may have another cyst forming-like the one that put me in the hospital last year :( I have been in moderate pain for more than a week now and just feeling REALLY lousy. I feel some better today and thought I would take this opportunity to post to my blog :)
I haven't felt like doing much other than some stitching. I finished the stitching for my personal Halloween ornament exchange with Paula and I stitched my ornament for the ornament swap-it's not due out until November 1, but my grandmother is having heart surgery next month and I am unsure how things will play out as far as my stitching goes so I have tried to get all my exchanges stitched. I can't share them until I mail them out and they are received, but I do have some WIP's I can share :)
Herb Window Garden-I have been working on the 3rd to the last herb :)

Spooky Witch Hat

ADORABLE and SUCH fun (ok, other than the allergy I had to the fabric :) )-I just loved everything about this and the finishing was just as fun as the stitching :) What a great addition to my Halloween decorations!
I changed just a couple of things...I didn't care for the pink garland on the ghosts, so I left it off and I changed the pink garland joining the spiders to black.

It's a Giveaway :)

I wasn't going to do any more giveaways because of a comment someone made about some of the giveaways going on (I am not trying to outdo the next person with visitor numbers, and most of the stitchers I know that offer giveaways are not trying to prove anything either!!!-I am just happy to have my regular visitors and share with them all-however few or many they may be)...-but let's face it, God blessed me with a "giving spirit" AND I adore giving and it makes me so HAPPY --so to all my loyal readers and all the new friends I have made over the summer and all my old friends (loves you all)I am having a giveaway. Here's what you have a chance to win :)
The Design is Winter by Elizabeth's Designs. It is a gorgeous design. It is finished off as a very simple stitching book. It has a pocket on each of the inside flaps. One pocket is trimmed with lace. The opposite side has no lace on the pocket-but some lace added to the top. It easily holds the small charts in the pockets. If you don't want to use it as a book-it can be easily displayed as a stand up by opening it slightly .

Yummy Stash :)

OOOH, too much of a good thing??? Only if deciding what to stitch first is an issue :) :) :) LOL!! I had to run some errands today (my dd is flying out to Ca. for a week next week and I am running around trying to do things for her) and could not resist, stopping by my LNS-to pick up my order :)actually the truck kinda went there on it's own ;)like it was on auto pilot!!!!
I got so many wonderful new goodies I don't know where to start :) Though that JN Witch Hat is TOO adorable :)

No stitching for me for the past two days -again, on the go constantly getting things ready for DD and hubby has been off work for a few days-he wanted me to play frisbee golf on the Wii last night-I love that game-it's addictive and we played from 8:30pm until 1:15am :) HE goes back to work tomorrow and I am hoping to start a new project from my LNS trip tonight :)
OK....off to play in my stash a bit and make a decision what to stitch-I have a personal Halloween ornament exchange to stitch-maybe something from this pile :)

St. Peter's Fair :)

Today Julianne and I started our SB SAL :) I am stitching St. Peter's Fair. This was a hand me down chart from a friend-so I am converting it to DMC and stitching it on 40ct. fabric (as I did Bee Keeper's Cottage last year) :)
I had a very late start as I had an incident with my eye this morning which prohibited my vision for the better part of the day-but I love the part I have stitched and look forward to next Tuesday :)

I would also like to thank Julianne for the generous and thoughtful gift she sent to me last week. I received SB's Thankful Heart kit! WOW, it's gorgeous and I love it so much and look forward to stitching it someday. Thank you again my sweet friend :)

Spook-A-Boo -Stithcing complete :)

I just love this one and had the best time stitching it :) I had to "improvise" as there was TOO much blank space near the center, so I added the bats-I think they work well and when I add the button I have picked out to the center it-it will look great!!
I plan to do the finishing this evening....so I will probably be back later tonight with the actual Biscornu :)
Isn't it such a FUN design???

Can you see the two spiderwebs?? They are stitched in blending filament and do not show up well in the pic-but when the light hits them-they look AWESOME!! :)

Sharon, I usually do not stitch a bottom on a biscornu as I display them in a basket and only the top shows. I will stitch the bottom however if it is different than the top-otherwise I just stitch the top side :)-however I may stitch something in the 4 corners of the bottom..haven't decided yet :)

Nina, this will be my 20th Biscornu. I have received 8 as gifts and/or exchanges and the others I have stitched for myself :)

Thank you all so very much for your continued visits. I appreciate them so much and hope you will come again :)

Be back later with the biscornu :)

My latest finishes :) (picture heavy)

I have had numerous email about returning to blogging and if anything is wrong or has happened...I just got so burnt out on trying to keep up with all the blogs I read. I feel so bad when I am posting but not reading/commenting so I needed a break from blogging :) I am TRULY OK-nothing is wrong as far as the blogging community goes-just one of those things that happens at times when some of us need a break to regroup and recharge our batteries :) I honestly can't thank you enough for caring though :)

Anyway, here are my latest finishes :) I have received some really kind email about them and YES, I have had a great deal of fun stitching and finishing these biscornu :) I am addicted to them right now :)

4 WIP updates...and lovely, lovely ornaments!!!

We have been so busy around here with vacations and family visiting for birthday celebrations and the 4th holiday that I haven't had a great many opportunities to stitch-however, I wouldn't change a minute of the past few weeks-it's been great. OK...I take part of that back-I would change the fact that I am not feeling very well after the holiday as I got waaaaaaaaay too much sun and just overdid it a bit and it caught up with me and I am not feeling very well at all for the past several days-I hurt my right shoulder last week and it has really bothered me something terrible every day :( other than that, I wouldn't change a thing, we had a blast!

Here are my updates of the WIP's I was working on before and after the holiday. I made some GREAT progress on a couple of them :)

3 WIP's on the go :) **EDITED To answer questions**

We had a very busy weekend last weekend with our son's 26th B-day and my mom and dad's anniversary and of course Father's day for My dad, hubby and FIL :) I didn't get to stitch at all as the weekend was full of celebrations (our cup runneth over with family :) PRICELESS!!)- and I really missed putting needle to fabric :)so, in place of actually stitching, I was doing inventory in my mind as to what projects I had on the go and how I could stitch on them daily-get them finished and add a few more projects to the works :) :) I only have 6 WIP's and no UFO's. I decided that I would put a WIP in each of my 3 stitching areas and stitch when I feel like it on whatever project is on the frame at the time :) I have dust covers for them all-so if something is not getting my attention for a few days it can be protected.
I have HoHRH in the den. (Gazelle Floor Stand)

Herb Window Garden in the office/computer room. (American Dreams Floor Stand)

And A Time for Everything in my stitching room. (Elan Lap/table stand)

So far this week I have manged to put at least 1 hour in each project daily. So far it's working beautifully as these 3 rooms are the rooms I am in and out of most each day (with the exception of the kitchen and I didn't think it wise to stitch in the kitchen while cooking :) :) :) :) :)!!!

Angela...I purchased my scroll frames from my LNS. I have 1 of each size made.
Joanie-All my stands will hold Q-snaps as well :)

Thank you all so much for your visits, emails and friendships :) They are cherished :)

Building House #6 :)

I am so surprised when I look at my progress that I was able to get so much construction done today on house 6 :) I have had a Fibro flare up and have been in moderate pain for a few days. I swam for 1 hour today and that really did help some. The doctors says the best thing for Fibro is exercise and pool exercise is at the top of that list. So after a swim I am feeling a bit better and have been much more comfortable this evening :)
House 6 is coming along and with any luck I will keep building for the rest of the week :)
The pic is not the best as it is under artificial light :)

HRH Series Challenge anyone???

I am dedicating my stitching time this week to Houses of Hawk Run Hollow. I just now pulled it out again and have it ready to go and thought I would post to get fellow stitchers to join me-I would love some company :) .
This is my current pic. I have not stitched on this in such a long time. It has been sadly neglected and a WIP for FAR too long. I have 5 houses complete and will be working on house 6 this week.

Would any of my followers like to join me in the HRH Series challenge and devote this week to stitching on your HRH piece each day? Even if you can only devote an hour or less a day :) Leave me a comment or an email if you plan to join me. I'd love to see your progress or maybe even your start :) If you don't have a blog-that's OK too-we'll communicate VIA email :)

Also, I am curious if anyone reading has stitched this design (or any HRH Series) as a RR??

Getting closer...... :) :) :)

I know you are probably tired of seeing this one??? BUT...Here is another update. I am undecided if I will continue working on it or pick up one of the "thousands" of projects that's calling my name so loudly :) I have received quite a few email about this project :) I *think* have responded to them all :) Thank you so much :)
I just love everything about this sampler...YES, the colors are so brilliant and the design itself is amazing! The only part I am not looking forward to is the Queen Stitch flowers that both birds are sitting atop-as you can see I have avoided stitching those :) Queen Stitches are not my favorite stitch :) I still have the verse over one under the center of the design. It's a fairly long verse. I also have the "Wrought by" over one to stitch at the top between the flowers as well as the specialty stitches in the inside border and the Sheepie stitched in colonial knots next to the girl :)

I haven't stitched much on Industrious Bee Sampler as we have spent a great deal of time outside and I didn't want to take this project outside and risk the chance of a bird flying over...ROFL!! so I have been stitching smaller projects while we are enjoying the birds and the flower gardens :) I pulled this out yesterday and made some progress :) STILL loving it and look forward to having it on my wall soon :)

A Little help please :) **EDITED**

What do you think about the alphabet (well, the 3 letters I have stitched-didn't want to stitch too many in case I need to rip them out)-does it show up enough or do I need to change colors-??the alphabet is stitched in DMC 642. I am not using the recommended fabric-I switched to 36ct Patina(which I LOVE)-but I am using the recommended fibers. I am undecided if the alphabet is going to show up enough. It probably will once I get all the other items stitched in-but I find myself questioning it more and more as I stitch.
These are not good pics as I had to take them under artificial light as it is dark here...so I can't get a true pic of the color of the fabric-it is a light shade of green...the bottom pic shows the color most true, but still not accurate.
I would appreciate your thoughts :)
Thanks so much :)

Thank you to those that have emailed me. I am OK. We have and are having some things going on within our family that has had me pretty down. Some health issues, some employment issues-things that tend to cause worry daily. I know other people have some of the same issues right now with the state the country is in-and I guess we all deal with it differently-me, I get quiet and not very sociable. I can't thank you enough for checking in with me though-you're so sweet and I truly do appreciate your email, snail mail and calls :) -I am sure things will get better in time :) I apologize for being so long in replying to your email...I have had some email issues with someone from Nigeria (that's where my ISP traced the issue to) Hi-jacking my email acct. and sending out malicious emails. I have worked with my ISP twice to correct this problem-that makes me so frustrated that someone has nothing better to do with their time then mess with other people's computers...)

My latest finishes and progresses :)

Springtime :)

I needed something "cheery" this evening (Vonna was so right in one of her comments on one of my previous post...nothing happens for awhile and then the bottom drops out and you get hit by one thing after another and today has been one of those days!!!-but I am determined to stay "cheery" and I continue to remember that I am not in charge and that I am blessed with each new day :) :) ) so I stitched this cute little pinkeep :) I took one of the LK flowers from one of her many designs and added a "Becky" flower with it to produce this adorable little pinkeep :) I just love it and it indeed makes me smile :)
I used 2 buttons to create my flower :)

Aside from the "happenings" of today, we had a lovely day relaxing and birdwatching for most of the afternoon/early evening hours. We have enjoyed birdwatching in our backyard for the past 20 years and I never ever tire of it. We have a long life list and backyard list of birds that visit our yard. I still get excited each year when the season changes and brings in the Summer birds and the winter birds. It's just like being on vacation to me with all the comforts of home :)

I want to thank you all again for your continued visits to my blog-I appreciate your time, comments and your email so very much-you are all so very sweet!!!! I do hope you will stop by again for a visit! I am STILL behind as today just didn't go as planned :) I will catch up when hubby returns to work next week.
Have a lovely new week!!
Many hugs and love from SC :)

Finding homes for my finds :)

I worked on a few of my bargains...finding places for them among my junk, I mean cherished treasures. Whatever you wish to call them, they make my heart sing :) I just love surrounding myself with things I love. :)

Perfect for some of my smalls :)This will look even better once we get the wall painted (2 rooms down, 2 to go)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

For now I just placed my red shelf here. I also found the wooden biscuit cutter you see inside the cubby of the shelf back in February and you will remember my cherished Amish nesting boxes :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

The willow type tree you see here was another treasured find back in February when mom and I went treasure hunting :) It has a beehive base and little bees all over the tree!! And do you see the beehive shaped watering can?? LOVE IT!!
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I initially intended to paint this black, but my hubby likes it green. I have been holding Joyful Summer for a perfect finish and this is it :) I just love it! This is not hanging where it will be hung. I plan to hang it near my table/display with the red shelf :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I'm a "tweaker" so I will tweak these displays many times before I get them just as I want them :) and by that time I will probably find more treasures to add and "tweak" :) :) :) I love the Simple Life :)

Thank you my friends for stopping by for a visit :) I so enjoy your dropping by :) I have received several email about my previous posts with all my treasured finds-I will reply later today as it is WAY past my bedtime for a Saturday night/Sunday morning :)
Thanks for indulging me and allowing me to share with you :) Some of you are just too sweet :)

My Saturday Treasures :) (LONG POST)

What an awesome treasure hunting day....hubby didn't get home from Masonic activities until almost 2pm and we almost decided that it was TOO late to go to some of our favorite Antique and consignment shops but we went anyway and am I ever glad we did! I found some REALLY great bargains today and I couldn't be more thrilled! I will have to share them here as I don't have my home blog anymore (sorry folks...too much to keep up with and I know many of you have emailed me about missing it-so maybe you will enjoy this post)-a lot of it is needlework related anyway :)

I think this was one of the best deals of the day....
I LOVE anything to do with birds/birdhouses and have quite the collection in my home. My den has birdhouses in it and my master bath and bedroom is all Bird related as well so this quilt and lap quilts fit right in. Hubby did some bargaining for me and was able to get the full size quilt and 2 lap quilts and pillow sham for $30.00. You better believe they were coming home with me :) I just have it spread out on the bed to take a pic-I still have my shams from my other quilt on the pillows right now.

To show the 2 lap quilts :)

Next up was another WONDERFUL find that I could not pass up...look at this beauty! The Treadle sewing machine stand with a vanity added to the top-this piece is absolutely gorgeous and was marked down 3 times from the original price and hubby talked them down another 10% :) All the items you see pictured with it were purchased today as well :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I don't usually buy needlework when I am on treasure hunts, but today I bought a few pieces....this framed piece, (I need to clean the glass as you can still see where the sticker was)you should see it up close-it's amazing with the different techniques used throughout- is so different it was 5 dollars...the frame is worth more than that! Also some other goodies I found today as well pictured with it.

I love the unique sewing box...it also came with the threads and look at these vintage scissors. I tell ya I was like a kid at Christmas!! (You will notice an oil can in two of the pics...I found 2 more today.... one for a friend and another spare to use with Country Stitches bird)

This sewing basket also came home with me! Another lady spotted it after I did and wanted it-but I had already paid for it :)
I had to get the Beehive honey pot as well :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
This shelf is SOOOOOO cool and I plan to take the patchwork out of it and add one of my stitched pieces...it will more than likely get a paint job as well. And, I bet you stitchers know what I plan to do with the other item in this pic :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
These are two more needlework items I could not pass up. They are both just adorable.
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
Another needlework piece...this box is gorgeous and stitched over 1.
I also got the crocheted doily under it :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

And you can't tell in the other photo-but this Green Tiara candy dish has bees and beehives all over it-it was the first thing I spotted today. It makes my heart sing :) :) :)

WOW, if you are still with me, thanks for reading and stopping by :) I appreciate your visits so much :)
I owe a few emails to several people, but I think I am going to go stitch awhile tonight as my stitching time has been so very limited for 2 weeks :) and will reply tomorrow and try to visit blogs as well :)
Hugs to you all and enjoy the simple things :) And remember you have a friend in SC that loves ya!!

Update on Industrious Bee Sampler....

Still working on this gorgeous sampler. I think this must be one of the most enjoyable pieces I have stitched to date. I just love everything about it and I look forward to picking it up every chance I get. I did put it aside for a couple of days to stitch Julianne's ornament.

I have Julianne's ornament ready to mail as soon as I can get to the PO and my fingers are itching to start a few more pieces, but again, I just love The Industrious Bee Sampler so much I can't stop stitching on it :) However, I may put it aside for a few days and stitch a few Smalls that I have been wanting to do as well as Amy's Summer exchange and her ornament for next months swap.

I am not due to receive ornaments from the swap until June, as I am the last one to receive, but Jill sent this cutie early.

I received some very heartbreaking news late this evening and my heart is truly hurting. I get a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes each time it crosses my mind. I'm not going to post about it-but please remember to love your family and friends and TELL them and show them daily :) Life is never certain, and every new day is a blessing. You should always live each day to the fullest.

Thank you for stopping by-I appreciate your visits so much. I apologize for not getting by your blogs...hubby is on vacation and we are staying plenty busy.

To all my sweet friends out there-you all know who you are-I love you!!
Have a lovely week.

An Adorable exchange :)

Today the mail brought the most adorable Spring Exchange from Amy :) I just LOVE it all and can't thank you enough my friend!! Look at this adorable (yep, using that word a lot to describe this ADORABLE exchange)pillow. I just love it, Amy :) Thank you so much!! And the cutest wind chime with a Goldfinch (happens to be one of my most favorite birds) and the coolest cupcake cups-looking forward to using those :) You spoiled me Amy :) Thank you again SO VERY MUCH :)

I have made further progress on Industrious Bee Sampler. STILL loving this one :) I must however put it on hold a couple of days while I stitch a Christmas Ornament for Julianne.

Thank you to whoever sent me the Peach Sherbet CC with the message.."Becky, Wishing you a beautiful Spring!" Thank you for your thoughtfulness :)

Hubby starts vacation on Monday so I will still be limited in my computer/stitching time as we still have many projects to complete and start around the house and hubby has a week of Masonic conferences and we also hope to go spend the day with Amy and Ray at some point this month or the first week of May :)Lot's to cram into April :) So, if you don't hear from me much please know I am thinking about you and will be back to blogging regularly as soon as I can :)

Thank you all so much for your continued visits -I appreciate them and your time so very much :) Please do come again!
Happy Good Friday and have a Blessed Easter :)

Meager Stitching :)

I don't have a lot to show for the past 5 days....hubby has been off and we have been working long hours in the yard (I enjoy yard work almost as much as I do stitching) and I am just too pooped in the evenings to stitch or blog or anything that requires any energy :) :) :) Just a nice long soak in the tub is all I have been managing in the evenings (with some lovely bath therapy that dear Jan sent me :) Thanks friend! It really helps!!). We still have a list of things to get to, including getting the garden tilled and planted-we are hoping tonight is the LAST of the COLD weather. The indoor stuff will have to wait until his vacation. We painted both the laundry room and the master bathroom in January and February but limited time and weather did not allow us to get the crown molding cut/painted and installed... I STILL have unfinished crown molding and shoe molding lying in my dining room floor...but we will eventually get to it all :)
I am still working on Industrious Bee Sampler, but as I said I have not had any stitching time-but here are my meager efforts for the last 5 days :)

May I present Liberty Tin in all it's glory (well as much glory as it can be in without being finished into the sewing box :) )

Hello Everyone :)I finished Liberty Tin today :) I must admit this one has a LOT more stitching in it than it looks...the finished size is 9.5 x 9 and it is solid stitches. My hubby kept commenting that there was no way it was going to fit on the suggested tin and that it was big enough to run up the flagpole :) LOL! I REALLY enjoyed this one though and could not put it down to work on anything else :) I still need to pick up the star buttons before I can do the finishing work on it :) I omitted one motif as I just didn't like it. I stitched it in and ripped it out as I didn't care for it at all...I think it was suppose to be a crown and it was suppose to be stitched under my initials.

Sheila-yes, I have my scissors displayed in bowls with glass stones :) I have 3 different bowls done this way full of scissors :)

Barbara-OOOH...you are tempting me with the invitation to join you all on the Noah SAL (is it an informal SAL or do you have set days to stitch ???) ...let me think on it a day or so- I haven't decided yet what I want to work on next. I have an order coming from Amy tomorrow and with the PILE I have pulled from last week's organizing of my stash I don't know what to start next :) WOW, I could have worse decisions huh??? LOL!!!

Vonna, I am not sure what I am going to start next...so many BEAUTIES being shared in blogland it makes me want to start them all :) Including your new start This is The Day :) I am LOVING everyones progress on this piece :) I have a bunch of SB's I want to start too....I guess it will be whatever is calling the loudest :)

6 Bucks Framed !!:)

I just love a bargain. I am always going to consignment and Antique shops on the lookout for anything I can use in finishing my cross stitch :) I think outside the box and come up with some wonderful treasures to assist me in finishing work :) Today however I was on a specific mission to find some "CHEAP" frames for some of my latest finishes and I found a pair for $6.00-boy I couldn't pass that up and was the perfect size for Victoria's Quaker and they are REALLY well made and nicely detailed frames:) Of course I had to dispose of the floral print that was in it (the lady couldn't believe I was going to do that..LOL-but once I explained she felt better about the lovely print being replaced by my cross stitch :)) I framed it this afternoon and honestly I am so thrilled with it :) I took several pics and just could not get a decent one...so here are a few-maybe one of them will allow you to see how lovely this looks framed :)

Victoria's Quaker Revisited :)

Some of you will remember I stitched Victoria's Quaker back in 2007 and I made a booboo on the large heart motif and was undecided about what to do. I pulled it out tonight and decided to "fudge" the motifs that go inside the heart so they would fit into my heart. I am HAPPY I did this as I think it still looks amazing and if I didn't know I had made a booboo on the large heart I would never know by looking at it now :)
I also decided to do something a little different and add the Numerals to the bottom of my sampler :)
I can officially call this one finished now :) And maybe it can go to the framer's next month for framing special :)Unless I can find a frame long enough :)

Kim-when I frame anything, I always stretch and block my stitched piece by using an iron to make sure the FABRIC is back to the shape it was before I started stitching (fabrics can become distorted when stitching). I center it, measuring all distances with a ruler to make sure I am centered and then I LACE my piece of stitching on the mounting surface I am using. Lacing allows you to center it even moreso if needed. Then add it to the frame :) HTH :)

Oh, I am getting close on this one :) I was able to get quite a bit more stitched on him today :) I hope you aren't tired of seeing him yet :) I think I am going to stay with it until it is finished :) I still have to add the ribbon to the greenery on the left side and I do have quite a bit of filling in among the green-you know those a little bit of this green here and there and a little bit of that green here and there :) I also have to do the gold throughout his sash as well as the gold at the top of the greenery and then finish off the stems that are in the basket :) Not too much but enough to keep me busy tomorrow :)

I can't thank you all enough for your comments :) You are just so sweet and you really can't know how very much I appreciate you visiting with me :) YOU All INSPIRE ME TO STITCH !!! THANK YOU :)
Please come again :)

Red Winged Blackbird Giveaway :)

Yesterday my mom and I went to a Shop Hop held at our local University. I was so excited to go as they had 23 vendors that had notions, fabrics, patterns, all kinds of wonderful finishing goodies. We only have Wal-Mart here to buy finishing fabrics so it was a TREAT to get to see all those yummy finishing fabrics in one place. I had some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket and just couldn't wait to buy some fabrics :) I found this ADORABLE bird print and wanted to stitch something right away so I could use it for finishing :) So I started Red Winged Blackbird last night and finished it up this afternoon :) I made a small pillow that can be used as a pin pillow or just a display pillow :) I have already stitched this design for myself last year finishing it as a mattress pincushion so I am offering this pillow up for a giveaway to all my readers :) New, old and first time readers to my blog are welcome to enter the drawing. Please leave a comment on this post only and I will draw a name on the 28th of February :) If you love Bent Creek or unique looking birds then please add your name to the drawing :)

I have several friends that are going through much difficulty in their personal lives right now and I want you all to know I love you dearly and I am praying for and thinking of you each daily.

Happy Birthday dear Jan :) Love ya much!!!

Thank you all for your ever so kind comments and emails :)

I have tried to reply to everyone. I have been sick with the flu and have just started feeling more like myself this week :) Boy that kicked my backside!!! I am taking a mini (hopefully a short break-but just not sure at this time) break from many online activities as I am just not feeling the "online stuff" at this time...I hope that changes, but if not I have enjoyed my part for the past 10 years :) It was 10 years ago next month that I found the world of online cross stitching communities and I have been active in them and hosting activities since :) I feel kinda burnt out :( and feel I really need a break. It has nothing to do with anyone (I love most everyone I have met through my blog and activities I have hosted for the past 10 years-I just need time to rest from hosting exchanges/activities :) )I still want to do some personal exchanges and I will continue to host a couple of exchanges that are underway at this time. I do want to try and update my stitching blog when I have something to share-my stitching has been VERY slow going this year so far, but I hope that changes soon as well. I do have a few projects to share that I just recently stitched and a few others that are in route to their new homes :)

Exchange from Carol R

Carol and I are doing a personal exchange and I received my GORGEOUS exchange from her today. I think this may be my most favorite of all my mattress pincushions! I am blown away by it :) And the extras are so nice too :) Thank you, Carol-you made my MONTH!! I hope you received my email of thanks. My pictures cannot do this stitched piece justice-it is so gorgeous and I will cherish it always! I hope you will be as happy with my return exchange as I am with yours :)

I would also like to thank Carol S for a SWEET gift of a chart from my wishlist :) I hope you received my thank you email, Carol-I love it and can't wait to stitch it :)

I have received quite a few email in regards to my absence...I have so much going on right now and have been in a great deal of pain. (I have only stitched two pieces this whole month-ornament for CathyB and my exchange for Carol-they both should have been a couple of days each on stitching-but due to the pain I am suffering in my hands they took me until this week to finish) I find it so difficult to stitch so on good days that is what I spend my time doing. I am able to do a few other crafts that are not as tedious on my hands/fingers. My doctor has me on some supplements and some exercises to try and improve my ability to function better. They have seemed to help some, but I am far from where I had hoped to be. Hopefully things will improve and I can get back into some sort of online routine and be in touch with some of you :) I have missed some of you so very much! Thank you to those that have checked in-I REALLY do appreciate it :)

If you are still dropping by-thanks and I am sorry I have nothing to share....hopefully that will change soon :)

Winner of my End of the Year thank you...

I had my DD draw a name today and Edgar was the name she drew for the Hoppity Needle book :) Congratulations, Edgar-I will send it out to you on my next PO run :)

Thanks again for all your visits in 2008 :) Thank you to those that have taken a minute to email about my decision for 2009 :) I appreciate those of you that understand-it's been a pleasure having you aboard and getting to know you better....for those that have been negative-I really don't know what to say. I would NEVER judge you and what you need to do for yourselves-but no worries-I am happy and content with my decision.

Best wishes for the Holiday!
Merry Christmas to all :)

I don't have anything to share as I have not been

stitching all that much (too many other things going on right now-busy time of year for me) and what stitching I have been doing has been for exchanges :) I probably won't be posting much on this blog for the next month or so as I will be busy with other things and my stitching will not pick back up until after the holidays.

2009 is quickly approaching and I will be making many changes in how I spend my time in 2009 :) Also, many of you send birthday gifts to me-PLEASE do not send anything for my birthday in 2009. I have LOVED and appreciated all the gifts I have received in years past but I am NOT going to be doing any b-day gifts this year. I will do AOK's and just because gifts on occasion. So please, no b-day gifts for me :) Thank you so much for your understanding!

I am going to talk with a few people and I am going to give up some of the stitching activities I host. I have always been about getting everyone stitching :)I just want to "be" for awhile and not have so many responsibilities. 2008 taught me so many things about people/friends and myself (especially with my health scare and with Rick's accident at work)-life is WAY too short and I plan to start spending more of my free time with family and stop worrying over who will be mad if I don't host this or that or pay for this or that or worrying over the exchange that has not arrived from group members. My heart is just not into that anymore.
I will still be doing the occasional personal exchanges as well as the PS exchange-but other than that I have no desire to host anything :)

I would like to truly thank those of you that have been such good friends through all I have endured in 2008. There were times I just wanted to lay down and not get up-days I felt so depressed all I wanted to do was shut the world out...but with my faith in God and your prayers and emails and phone calls and the friendship I have with some of you-I kept on going and each day got better and better. It seems life is still challenging our family in many ways-but I see it as God making us stronger.
I am looking forward to 2009 and changes :)

Thanks so much for making my blog a part of your reading in 2008 and I wish you all happiness, health, love and peace for 2009.

See ya when I have something to share :)

love and hugs,

ABC Tapestry SAL ???

I will be starting ABC Tapestry by Rosewood Manor on January 1, 2009. Maxine is joining me and if anyone else would like to join in-please let me know :)
My supplies came in today. I will be using 35ct. Tea Dyed Linen (24 x 55 cut-in case anyone needs info) and Belle Soie Rose of Sharon (it takes 13 skeins..but I ordered 1extra just in case)
This piece is GORGEOUS!! Carol at my LNS has started it and stitched through the letter D and has it on display at the LNS. I wish I had taken a pic of her progress. It is just so gorgeous!!! I just fell in love with it-I am using the linen/fibers she is using as they just look fantastic together and I prefer them over the recommended :) I just wish you could see it in person :)

Thanksgiving Exchange for Sharon

I was in a personal Thanksgiving exchange with a small group and I drew Sharon's name. I was told Sharon really preferred Autumn over Thanksgiving so I chose to stitch Bountiful Autumn and finish it as a pinkeep :) I hope you will enjoy it, Sharon :) I didn't take a pic of the rest of the exchange :(.

Friends...my mom did just great :)

it honestly could have not gone any smoother-I am talking about everything from the moment we arrived at the surgery center until the minute they wheeled her out to the car to go home. The doctor (whom I really like) said she did so good and he had good stuff to work with and the repair to her shoulder looks excellent and he is happy with the repair. NOW it is up to mom-she has to remember NOT to use the arm and do everything they told her Post-Op. She starts Physical Therapy tomorrow and hopefully in about 4-6 months she will be as good as new. :) I am SO proud of her as she was so very nervous about it all-but she did just great. I am SAD to see her in so much pain-but we have already had a conference on just how bad the pain would be for quite some time-especially the pain that goes with the PT. Thank you so much to everyone that has sent personal email -you are so kind and it just touches me so to know that I have that many caring friends I have never met IRL :) I just love you all so much for that :) You're the best!!!!
OK...I am exhausted-I just want to BE for a bit :)...I didn't sleep last night worrying over mom and then we had to get up at 5AM and have her there by 7am and it's telling on me now...AND what frustrated me most was I took everything to stitch an ornament...well almost everything-I FORGOT my needle..ROFL!!! I was just so nervous and hyper at the same time I just forgot :)

Thank you-your thoughts and prayers have been so greatly appreciated by all my family and they worked :)

hugs and love,

Give Away to Say Thank you !!!

I wanted to do an end of the year give away for my blog readers :) I appreciate your time and visits to my blog and your email and all the new friends I have made VIA my blog. :) I stitched this Saturday night, but I didn't know if I would get the finishing done this weekend, but I did find time to do the finishing on this cute little needle book today. I chose this design because I have received MANY email on the same design/finish I did for myself back earlier in the year. I need to go ahead and post this as I don't know how much free time I will have over the next several months with my mom having surgery :) SO...if you are a commenter on my blog and would like a chance to win this Needle book, please leave a comment on THIS post and I will draw a name at the end of November.
I changed all the flowers to tiny buttons as I had used the tulip flower that goes on the center flower on my previous finish of this design! I think it looks TOO cute with the button flowers :)
