Bloom Where you are Planted

I wanted to finish Bloom Where You are Planted that I started yesterday before picking up my WIP for today.

(Picture Trail is down-they are working to get it back up)

I'm not feeling well today, didn't feel that great yesterday either :( :( !! I hope I am feeling better tomorrow, as my best friend and I have a day planned.

I hope everyone is having a good Memorial Day!

A Possible Change underway

Carol has told me that she prefers This Blog over my Blog hosted by Angelfire, as this one is easier to navigate and she doesn't have to sign in each time or do a preview screen when leaving a comment....I am familiar with this, as I have to do that on some blogs I read, so I know it does tend to get "annoying". I am going to be trying out my other blog for a few days and see if I want to change out altogether. I will STILL keep my Website on Angelfire, no matter what choice I make on the site to host my Blog. I will be posting to both blogs for a few days until I make a decision. :)

I hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday weekend. We have had a productive and good day, but had to come inside due to rain. It has stopped now, just in time for the cookout tonight.

Many of you will remember when I stitched Lorri Birmingham's Joy To The World and the fit it gave me...:) I decided to finish it off today into a bell pull to give to the hostess of the cookout tonight. Debbie collects Santa's and I KNOW she will love this piece. I was excited about how the finishing turned out. It turned out REALLY nice. I found some gold ribbon to make the bow and I "scrunched" it, that gave it a wonderful affect. I also made a Gold tassel and I spray painted my dowel and ends gold. It's quite lovely. :) :) :)

I hope to stitch when we get in tonight. I want to start the Birds Of A Feather design I bought yesterday :) It feels good to be back into the habit of stitching on my WIP's during the week, and getting a weekender or two in over the weekend! I had MISSED that. :)

Have a nice evening!

Shopping was productive :)

WELL... I tried, BUT-I couldn't resist, I had to stitch something from my new stash. I stitched and finished off one of my shopping goodies from my shopping trip today. Busy Bee Needle Keep was a very fun and quick stitch. It is adorable in person and I think these would make the cutest gifts for stitching friends :)

I got some wonderful "goodies" today!

Busy Bee Needle Keep Kit-Lorri Birmingham
Acorn Basket Kit-Lorri Birmingham
Forest Song-Elizabeth's Designs
Sentimental Heart-The Sweetheart Tree

And the Following by Patricia Ann Designs:

Shimmering Seashells

I stitched on And The Animals Came some today before we left for lunch and shopping. I haven't made much progress, so I am not posting a pic now. IF I can stop oooohing and aaaaahing over my new stash, I may stitch some more this evening and post a pic. If not, I will post a pic next rotation.

I see that the 25 most asked cross stitch questions is making it's way to other blogs. Thanks to those that have let me know they posted them on their blogs, I look forward to reading your answers. I may have to splurge and visit other blogs with the answers posted too :) I am interested in how everyone answered.

Tammy, the basket in the Lorri Birmingham kit is a Nantucket Style Basket. It's going to be adorable. I can't wait to stitch it. You are welcome to the chart when I finish, but you have to supply your own basket...LOL!

Another May Goal Accomplished

I read my new book, Teach Yourself Hardanger, and I felt confident enough to try a small ornament. This was such fun. I wish I could get a better pic of it. I think I may BEE hooked :)

Rose Trellis

Well, it's official, I have stitched on each of my WIP's (even those I declared UFO's) this month-stitching on each WIP was one of my May goals. Even though I have no progress to show for Oh Christmas Tree, I did stitch on it, although it was all frogged. I enjoyed working on each of the 8 projects, (even though I was very frustrated with Oh Christmas Tree), and hope to continue next month with my rotation.

Today I stitched on Heirloom Christmas Sampler. I stitched bands 8 & 9. I skipped band 7 for now, as it is Drawn Thread work and I am not quite ready for that yet.

Heirloom Christmas Sampler

Sharon, thank you for your post. You are so sweet, as USUAL :) I was very frustrated at the time I posted that...not sure it was more over the tree or the blog.....but nonetheless, frustrated. Today is a much better day, even though I still CANNOT get into my regular blog. The Sampler book is published by LA It is from 2003. It somehow made it's way to the clearance rack at Michaels, and I couldn't let it get past me. As for the Bird Bath chart, you can have it when I am finished, if you would like it. It is a kit, but I have converted the colors to DMC and you are more than welcomed to it (I know i am sending you Oh Christmas Tree chart when I am finished, had I promised you Bird Bath as well??? can't remember...but let me know if you want it)

Also, I have been tagged by Carol
For a book Meme...my hubby would have been a better choice here. He is an AVID reader. I do read, just not as often. Nope, Carol, I don't mind at all :)

1. Total number of books I've owned. I do own a lot of books, I couldn't begin to guess how many, my hubby collects them, and his number is into the thousands, easily.

2. Last book I bought. I bought a Teach Yourself Hardanger book yesterday. Although it may not be the right answer here, it is the last book I bought.

3. The last book I read. Again, I just finished Teach Yourself Hardanger today.

4. 5 books that mean a lot to me. I Love Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Ethan Frome ( I have read them several times), The Notebook & The Wedding.

I will tag Shelleen ...and I will leave Nancy for Shelleen to tag, if she hasn't been tagged already :)

Becky in SC, who is hoping to have her blog back soon!!!!

Can you say FRUSTRATED???? I am VERY frustrated. I cannot access my regular Blog....it tells me there is no data...GRRRRR, you can betcha I will NOT be a happy camper if it is gone, I am a subscribing customer and have had the blog since Jan. 2004! ( I sat this blog up in february when I got back online after some time away, but I wanted to stay with my angelfire acct. as that is where my website is)

I wanted to post a pic of my progress on Bird Bath . This pic is truer to the actual colors in this piece. The last progress I posted of it, the colors very VERY washed out. I am pleased with the progress I made and I am looking forward to stitching on it next time around.

Bird Bath by Barbara Baatz

I am terribly frustrated with a project as well (guess today is not one of my better days...huh?)....I pulled out Oh Christmas Tree to work on (after making a shopping trip for the beads I wanted to use in the border ,replacing the 284z thread and 434 thread) ..i have stitched in the beads and one seems to dark (although this is what Carol, from the shop used on hers and it looked wonderful)...so I took out the 50 or so beads I had already added and stitched it in again using all the same color beads and I didn't like that either...so then I pulled those beads out and tried stitching it with the 284z and the 434 and definitely didn't like that...so now I don't know what to do-I have seen it stitched with the border left off and I didn't care for it that way either...sheesh! and to make things worse, I can't post about it for advice, as nobody knows me using blogger!!!!!

On a better note, while shopping today for the beads I wanted to use on Oh Christmas Tree , I picked up a few other items. I bought "Samplers Stitched for You" by Gail Bussi, Paula Vaughan's "Pillows from Paula's Garden" (initially I wasn't thrilled with this PV book, but I have a couple of friends in mind that I want to stitch for from it), AND, I am excited about this one...."Teach Yourself Hardanger"! I am truly wanting to learn to do all the Drawn Thread work...I think it is GORGOUES !!!! and I like a lot of band samplers that use it. I also picked up 6 skeins of perle cotton that I needed.

Have a great evening!
