Busy Becky :)

That's all....just a busy, busy time of year for me. I received an e-mail from 3 different people wondering if I was upset with them, as I had not been visiting their blogs. NO, I am not upset with anyone at all (I know where you are coming from though, as I have asked the same question to a friend that I thought I had offended, as she wasn't posting to my blog-but that wasn't the case at all) this is just a very busy time of year for me and anyone that knows me, knows that. I am starting my holiday decorating and I do so much, it takes me awhile to get it the way I want it. I host a dinner party for about 30-40 people every year and a ladies luncheon each year and I REALLY get into decorating my house. It takes me away from other things for a bit, but never fear, I will be back to posting on an regular basis after the holiday rush :) (and I am finishing last minutes items for our church bazaar, which is this coming Saturday) SO PLEASE know that none of you have offended me in any way and I am not upset (how could I be upset with the friends I visit-you are all SO wonderful) with anyone-it's other obligations that take me away right now :) AND, I am trying to stitch in between everything :) :) :) :)

Thank you so much for the comments on Angel of Love. It was my very first L&L (yep, I picked a doosey....huh??? LOL!!!). Of all the L&L's I have stitched, I still do not have one hanging in my home-they have all been gifts :)

Carol, I think yours is beautiful :) I wouldn't worry at all with the color of the beads she is holding :) Yours is going to be amazing!!!!

Juul-We didn't dress in costumes, everyone did wear Halloween related clothing though :)And some of us did Halloween related food.

Someone asked about the Autumn Exchange I received from Mercedes. You keep your fibers inside of it-they hang from the rings. It's a fiber pocket :) LOVE IT!

Someone else asked about the box I made for SylvieLea. I purchased a premade box and sponged it with the colors I wanted and I added the cross stitch to it VERY carefully with glue. I also lined it myself.

I check my e-mail daily, if you need to be in contact with me. I will post and read blogs every chance I get.

Hugs to you all :)

Angel of Love :) Thanks for the reminder, Carol :)

I promised Carol I would take the digi and make a pic of Angel of Love tonight while I was at my Best Friends Halloween Party. I stitched (finished) her for my best friend back in 1998, and this is the first time I have remembered to photograph her (but had forgotten about it, until shutting my computer down to go to the party and saw Carol's e-mail reminding me to take the camera :)) Now I have a pic for my records.

Mine will not be able to compare to Carol's Angel of Love, as the fabric Carol is using is beautiful and I stitched her on 14 ct. fiddler's. I had not yet tried Linen or ever heard of hand dyed fabrics back in 1997 (started her). BUT, nonetheless, she is still beautiful and my friend loves her and proudly displays her in her living room :) So, without further ado, her is my Angel of Love in all her glory ;)

I took a pic of The Den decorated for the Halloween Party.
This is my Best friends house and this is only a SMALL portion of the decorations. All the rooms downstairs were decorated, but I only had room on my card for 3 pics and I used two of them on the angel :)

Gifts I received today from Christine and Lelia :) Thanks, again :)

Have a great weekend :)

BUSY BEE....but wanted to take a minute to thank friends...

I received gifts from Christine and Lelia today. I don't have time to take pics and get them posted right now-but wanted to let these wonderful ladies know that the Postal Service delivered their goodies to me, so they wouldn't wonder :)

Christine sent me the cutest Mary Engelbreit bookmark :) Thanks so much, Christine! It's too cute to use :) :) :)
And, Lelia sent me the cutest thing..."Stitcher's Remedy. TOO adorable. It is in a ziploc bag and has the Stitcher's Rememdy written out on a small sheet of paper and includes a needle, 444 DMC, 2 small frogs and an individual pack of tea.
IT READS:
Needle: Sprinkled with Magic for perfect stitches.
Floss: Sun color to add warmth and cheer in your stitching projects.
Frogs: to reduce those :rip-it, rip-it" oot stitches. For your sewing box and your project bag.
Tea: Break Time! Brew Some Tea and Enjoy :)

You ladies made me smile today. I am sorry I don't have time for pics right now-just extrememly busy-my apologies please. I don't know how I will EVER repay the kindness all of you have shown me this past week. I LOVE each of you :) Thank you so much!

Must BEE off now to finish getting things ready for the party :)

Have a great weekend!

My Autumn Exchange from Mercedes

I received the MOST beautiful Fiber Pocket from Mercedes today. I ABSOLUTELY adore it. It is beautifully stitched and finished. Thank you so much, Mercedes :)

Today and tomorrow are VERY busy for me as I have two Halloween parties to attend (one is for our Red Hatter's Group-which my best friend and I are hosting) and I am preparing finger foods for both parties-but wanted to come thank Mercedes for her BEAUTIFUL exchange gift to me!

She also sent me some Post cards from Madrid, and the cutest Bee and a beautiful card :)

Oh My GOODness.. My Mailbox runneth over with kindness...

I am really at a loss for words right now. My heart is racing and that lump is once again in my throat for the kindness of my friends. WOW, I received a mailbox full of kindness today. I have not asked if I can share (which I usually ask first, but I need to locate all the e-mail addy's and send personal thank you's as well)-but I am going to go ahead and share these wonderful gifts that WONDERFUL ladies/FRIENDS have sent to me. Thank you for your care for me. I feel so loved and so special at this moment. It is thoughtful of you all to remind me that the GOOD surely outweighs the EVIL.
My cup truly runneth over. I love each of you.

From Jenna-a BEAUTIFUL Hardanger Heart with Ribbon Embroidery-it is absolutely gorgeous and I can't thank you enough.

From CathyB-Another Hardanger piece! I love it and will cherish it. I think both yours and Jenna's will go on my handmade ornament tree this year! Thanks you so much, Cathy :) I LOVED the card as well!

From Cathy-This means so much to me, as I have only just met Cathy, as she joined my BB. It speaks volumes that you would send this to me, Cathy :) It is just perfect for me and will find a special place as soon as I get this post finished! Thank you!

From HeatherR- Wow, I love it all Heather and it was so thoughtful of you :) The stitched piece is so cute, and the backing fabric is lovely too :) I love the Snow Angel-didn't have that chart, and the fibers are so yummy! Thank you SO much :)

I hope you ladies don't mind that I shared your hearts-cause let me tell you all, you surely have big hearts! Thank you so much from the bottom of mine :)

Love to you all,
BeckySC

(PS...I don't know who is responsible for starting the acts of kindness I have been receiving (as I know some of these people didn't have my address and had to get it from someone)-but please know I am so touched by this-words cannot express what I am feeling. Thank you seems so inadequate. I am TRULY grateful.

I received word this morning that my Autumn Exchange had arrived to SylvieLea

As she doesn't have a computer, I will go ahead and post the pics to my blog, as it may be awhile before she can share :)

I stitched LK's Autumn Boxer and made it into a box. I filled the box with goodies :)
I hope you like it, Sylvie :)
Box and the lining fabric. I used a cute pumpkin fabric to line it.

Box with goodies: Autumn Cookie Cutters, Pumpkin Spice Tea Candles, an autumn candle in a can, Autumn Potholder, Autumn bag with potpourri

I signed the inside of the box lid with our names and date and exchange

This is how I sponged the box in autumny colors

I really enjoyed putting this exchange together for Sylvie :)

Thank you all for the comments on Nicki's gift :) I appreciate them VERY much :) The fabric is a dish cloth I purchased. I loved the look of the fabric and thought I could stitch on it. It is a VERY tiny count.

hugs to you all :)

WAY past my bedtime...

I stayed up way longer than I am normally up as I wanted to finish a piece I started Sunday afternoon. This one is for Nicki :) I wanted to stitch a black cat for you as well, Nicki :) I hope you like it :)

Back

Thank you all for the comments on the Hardanger piece :) Missy, it's yours...I have a package ready to mail out to you, but I wasn't ready to send it just yet-too early :) :) !! I will open the package and add the hardanger piece to it :)

NOW, I got to get myself to bed!
hugs to you all :)

My "Needs to BEE Finished Drawer" is dwindling

WOW, I just realized that I have finished off a LOT of my projects that were in the "Needs to BEE finsihed" drawer! I am down to about 65 now-it was well over 100 pieces at the start of 2005. WOW-I have really accomplished a lot of finishing (some I can't share yet though)this year! That makes me feel pretty good to have some of those projects outta the drawer and into friends homes and my own-where they can BEE enjoyed :)
Today I finished another one of those pieces that was in the "drawer". It's a hardanger piece and it turned out really nice IMO. I finished it off into a pinkeep type finishing but as an ornament. If anyone would like to have it-they are welcomed to it :)

Have a great week my friends :)

Act of Kindness

I was so surprised today when I opened my mailbox and found a package inside for me. I wasn't expecting anything yet, as I knew my Autumn exchange had not had time to make it to me...but there was an envelope from Chelle I couldn't imagine what it was. I thought at first it was a mistake...but then I opened it and knew from the content inside it was for me...THEN I read the card :) After my unpleasant week VIA an e-mail, and as a Thank you for providing the SBEBB, Chelle sent me a token of friendship and kindness-it speaks volumes, Chelle!!!. I am so very touched. It was so sweet of you to do this :) Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Tuck pillow from Chelle

I was searching my freebies for a certain freebie I want to stitch and I realized I have so many freebies. WOW, I keep them in clear plastic sheets in 3 inch binders -I have 3 (3") binders filled to capacity! Needless to say I found WAY too many freebies I want to stitch :) LOL!

THANK you all so much for the comments on my Anniversary piece-I appreciate them so much :)

I hope you all are having a great weekend!

An early Anniversary stitch :)

Hubby and I will celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary on January 9, 2006. I wanted to stitch something special for us that we could display in our home. I chose a DT piece and it turned out adorable. Hubby even commented how nice it was. I stitched the back with our names and 25 years. (funny story about our initials on the front-I have been writing RMS (my married initials) for so long now that I stitched my initials in that way 3 times...I was SO frustrated with each time I had to rip them out-I FINALLY got them right before retiring to bed last night...it's funny now-but it wasn't at the time) I love the way it turned out. I was going to use pink ribbon around it (silver just wouldn't work!!!), but decided against it because it is a gift for both of us,and hubby preferred the cream ribbon.

THANK YOU ALL for your continued support to me-I appreciate the many kind e-mail you have sent to me and the comments. You are the best, and I am feeling much better. It's wonderful to have such great friends :) AND, I DO consider you all my friends :)
A special hello to Jenna's mom-how sweet are you :) :) :) Thank you :) I appreciate your kindness!!!!

Thank you too, for the comments on Oh Christmas Tree. It is for my mom and now all it needs is to be framed :) It's really so beautiful IRL :) :) :)

I have shared my Stitching Room before, but per Vero's request, I have added the link (which is always in my sidebar) to share with anyone that wants to look.

MANY hugs and wishes for a great weekend :)

I Need your opinions please...

Thanks for the continued show of kindness/caring towards me-my inbox keeps running over with your kindness. PLEASE KNOW I APPRECIATE IT MORE than any words I could type here could ever convey to you-it will NEVER be forgotten!!!!!

I need your opinions about the beads I am using on Oh Christmas Tree. Many of you will remember that they no longer make the beads it calls for and I had to find a substitution. The LNS suggested a MH bead, but they seemed way to small for the purpose they serve on the tree (cranberries and popcorn), so I shopped and searched and shopped some more until I found some I thought would do over the summer. STILL feeling sorry for myself (I know and I am trying to over come it) I decided that stitching would BEE the best medicine right now and I realized that I needed to get the beads on the tree, so that it can be framed in time for Christmas as it is a Christmas gift. SO, here's where you come in...what do you think about the beads I am using. Do you think they work??? I have only added a few strands until I make a decision. I would appreicate your thoughts on how they look. Please overlook the wrinkles and the quality of the pic. TIA!

EDITED Here's the tree with all the beads in place.

At the suggestion of dear KarenV (and you all), I am going to post to my blog today!

The first thing I want to say is THANK YOU all so much. Your words to me have meant so much. As I said to Karen, I was so hurt by the e-mail that I forgot there were genuinely good people out there. I only saw the bad person that wanted to hurt me-forgive me for that. I appreciate all your concerns and the "good vibes" you all have put forth to continue posting (to be honest, last night I thought I would never post again -that is just how hurt and upset I was)
Shelleen, thank you for the phone call. I am sorry it was short, but I just had to get away from the house for a bit. I had made myself sick over this and was having waves of nausea and a migraine. I didn't sleep last night so that didn't help either. I am still not feeling 100% but I will get there.

I really don't have a lot to share, and I can't share any pics as what I have finished since the weekend have been xmas gifts. I finished a gift for a special friend yesterday morning and I love it. I wish I could share it with you, but again I don't want to give away the surprise.

To those that have sent me notices that their packages arrived, thank you-I appreciate it-looks like the postal service did ok this go round. Barbara (The Netherlands) had hers on Monday! WOW that was SUPER quick)! Still waiting for word from a few and my autumn exchange partner. I keep forgetting that I too have an autumn exchange to receive. I wish it would come in the next few days-that would pick me up. I am really surprised that I haven't been stalking the mailman, but I guess we get so caught up in sending our exchanges out and what the recipient will think of it that we sometimes forget we have one coming in.

This may sound so weird to you all, last night I didn't want to be around a computer ever again, but right this minute after coming home and reading all the comments you guys have left me-I don't wanna move from the spot I am sitting in right now. AND, that lump I had in my throat last night from hurt is now there from your overwhelming kindness. Thank you. Thanks to everyone that sent personal e-mail too. I am going to try to reply to them now, and MAYBE do a little blog reading.

(EDITED) Look what I just found. Check out Karen's Blog for a couple of finishes! YAY!! WE MISS YOU!!!!!

hugs to you all,
BeckySC

Oh My...I have accomplished SO much this weekend....

BUT, I can't share any of it, as it is all Christmas gifts for some of my blogging friends (still have a few to stitch for, but made a huge dent in my list of names). I stayed VERY busy all weekend with stitching/finishing Christmas gifts. I am very pleased with them all and can't wait to send them out to the recipients. I will probably need to start doing that around the second week of November (as some of them have a long journey) for those that have far to travel. GOSH, I really don't like it when I can't share...but I don't wanna spoil any surprises, so I'll have to wait until the gifts reach their destinations. Hopefully they will all be happily received.

SOOO, those that e-mailed me (you are always so thoughtful that way) I am A-OK...just couldn't share anything on my blog and you all know me-I have precious little computer time and I don't use it up with a lot of OFF topic chatter :)

Have a good week!

Sylvielea (Autumn Exchange)

THANK YOU so much for all the wonderfully kind comments on the Halloween exchange piece and Jo's piece:) I appreciate them ever so much :) :) :)

Oh, I need to add...I decided to stay with the P.O. for mailing as I was concerned over the taxes that might apply using UPS (thanks, Barbara) but I had the BEST experience today in the P.O. The clerk was a doll! Wish I could get her everytime :) :)

Have a great day!

PHEW! I can breathe easier as Cathy let me know my Halloween exchange has arrived :)

YAY! I have been so worried over it as the P.O. said 7-10 days and it has been 19 days...but it arrived so I can share now :)

This is my exchange for Cathy :) I loved stitching for you and hope you enjoy it :)
I chose a pine mountain design and made it into a doorknob hanger or an ornament-whichever she prefers. I also stitched a necklace for her-it turned out so cute :) She received a few candies and a halloween bag as well :)

Gift for a friend :)

This is Black Cat Sampler from Blackbird Designs. I knew I had to stitch it for Jo as soon as I saw the design :) I was thrilled, as I haven't stitched anything for Jo as of yet and wanted to stitch for her :) This was perfect and will go well with the black cat gift she received from dear Karen :) :) (I still have many blogging friends I want to stitch for :) )

I love the way it turned out. It was a lot of fun to stitch and finish :)I hope you like it Jo, I enjoyed stitching it for you :)

Sorry Cindy-I always include my link to my webpage that gives the information about the piece-I edited to add it...don't know where my head was :)

I know you guys are sick of seeing this progress...

This is the last time I will share it for awhile. I am retiring it to the basket for now as I am sick of stitching on it for the moment.
I am very pleased with the progress I made on this one for this rotation, though and look forward to picking it back up again soon to get even closer to a finish :).
Thanks for all the encouragement you gave me while I was working on it-it was very appreciated :)

I want to do some finishing and gift stitching and I have a substantial list of online friends I want to stitch something for Christmas...so I think my needle will BEE heading in that direction :)

Have a good day :)

Oh my!!! Thank you all so much for your comments and E-mail.

I figured I better come say a word or two :) :) :) LOL!
Thank you all for your concerns for me. I am not disappearing, I am not giving up my blog-I am cutting back on my blogging (mostly the reading of all blogs daily, as it consumes so much of my time) I will still BEE around, posting to my blog and even commenting on your blogs, just not as much as I usually do :)

I must say this... I completely understand/respect/support Karen's decision and I would hope that all of you would respect her decision as well. She needs to do what is best for her at this time -I was very selfish at first and thought-"oh no, what will I do without my Karen fix everyday?" but I realize she needs to do what is best for Karen. I have been there and I know where she is coming from. She's not giving up her hobbies/stitching or friends-she closed her main blog for now and still has a blogger blog and she is still a member of the BB's and most importantly, she is still your friend!.... and her e-mail works just fine :) So stay in touch with her-she is still Karen -just taking a much needed break :) (much love to you my friend)

Hugs to you :)

Thanks to those that commented on my progress :)

As always it is much appreciated :)

I am going to be blogging less over the next few weeks. I am finding it a chore to read and comment to all the blogs I read (and I enjoy them all). I hope you all will understand. I just feel overwhelmed and blogging takes a good few hours for me to do-and that is WAY too much time online. I LOVE each of you and it is nothing anyone has said or done-it's just I feel like I am tied to the computer once again, and I do not want that. I will still be posting my pics to my blog and/or picture trail album or website....I just won't be blogging as I usually do. I don't expect you all to comment on my blog as I won't BEE doing much commenting on blogs myself, so it is understandable that you won't be commenting on mine :) I DO and HAVE appreciated all the lovely comments you have given me. Thank you :) Thanks for your understanding :)

I stayed with And The Animals Came and made some wonderful progress on it. It's really looking good :)

Thanks for the lovely comments and e-mail I have received over Isabelle's gift...no, it wasn't an exchange-just a special gift for a special lady :) :) :)

All the packages (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MY HALLOWEEN EXCHANGE)I sent on the 23rd have now reached their destinations....still waiting for word on my Halloween exchange. Harsha, I am so happy that you finally received your box of goodies :) I hope you will enjoy them :)

Zoanna-It's nice to meet you :) I love MB too, but the Mountains are my cup of tea :) :) :)

Joy-It's nice to meet you as well :) Thank you for the e-mail. I visited your blog and replied to your e-mail :)

Carol-(CC)-And The Animals Came is a large piece and it has MUCH backstitching. I'm a glutton for punishment...ROFL!!

Have a good day my friends :)

WELL, now I do have a headache over all the mailing dilemas

After reading Barbara's post I don't really know what to do (so for now I am not going to do anything until I can check into it further).
Oh well! Will not worry about that now BUT, will say that Carol S. (because you are in the US and I USUALLY have no problems with mailing inside the US) and SylvieLea (because it is an exchange that is due out) Karen (much success in mailing to you) will have their parcels shipped out on Tuesday (as Monday is a holiday)...

Isabelle my dear friend, I am so happy that your package arrived safely to you :) and I am as equally glad that you like it :) It was such a pleasure to stitch something for you :) Much love :) :)

Sylvie, I tried to use the program that Carol uses for e-mail subscriptions on her blog, but it doesn't work for me-I really don't understand why it doesn't, but I have not had any luck with it. Sorry about that.

Shaz-Thank you for visiting with me-I must return the favor :) I always enjoy new readers and can't thank my regular readers enough for their visits :)

I have made some pretty good progress on And The Animals Came. I don't know whether I will stay with it another day or move on to something else :)

Thanks for looking :)

Have a good day :)

Thank you friends for your comments on The Flower Garden Fairy

I appreciate them so much and you are all very kind :) I will have her framed...either at the LNS, or my best friend does BEEutiful framing and if she is up to it, she will do it.

I don't have any pics to share right now-I will edit later if I make enough progress on the WIP I am stitching on (however, I am going shopping/dinner with my mom in an hour so I don't know how much progress I will make today-it depends on how long we are gone)

I did stitch my ornament exchange though and I love it. I made some changes to it-I can't share it right now, but will as soon as I can. I still need to do the finishing on it-I hope my partner will like it :)

I received word from Aida in Malaysia that her package arrived yesterday! PHEW! I am happy that one of the international packages arrived. That still leaves Harsha's Isabelle's and my Halloween exchange to reach their destinations. I have been contemplating it-but after seeing how long these are taking to reach their destinations, especially when I am assured they will reach their destinations in 7-10 days and that is NOT happening, I will NOT be using the Post Office for mailing international any longer and will be using UPS. (I hope they will mail all the envelopes I have packaged to go out....I have never used them for mailing packages that were in the big mailing envelopes -I have only used them for boxes)

ANYWAY, I will be mailing to the following people on Monday (Sorry, I was going to mail today but decided against the P.O. and cannot get to the UPS store until Monday)

Happy Dance !! (edited for stash report)

This Happy Dance was a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time in coming :) I am so happy to have her finished. She is really beautiful IRL! The colors are awesome and so vibrant, but as always I cannot get a decent picture of her and my photographer isn't here anymore :)

Thanks for looking and for all the support and encouragement you gave me on this piece :) I appreciate it so much :)

I went shopping today for something to stitch for my Christmas Ornament partner at the SBEBB. I found 4 different pieces that would work-I am going to stitch two of them up and make a decision of which I like best. I am not going to share names/pics of the 4 leaflets for the christmas exchange but I can post a few others I bought.

Black Bird Designs-Evening Shades the Garden
The Sampler Company-Brenda Keyes-Plymouth Sampler

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments on my bag :)

I appreciate them so much :) Thank you again :)

Yes, I am ok...just busy as hubby FINALLY has some time off-he worked 60 days with only 4 days off and only 1 day off the last 30 of the 60, so I have been spending time with him before he has to go back to work :) Thank you for your concern-you are all so sweet :) :) :)

I am back stitchingThe Flower Garden Fairy and it is slow going and I can't get a good pic of it-but I have a LOT of the b/s done and hope to have a Happy Dance in the next few days :)

Amy, I am in the piedmont of SC. That's about 4 hours from Charleston (BUT, hubby and I spent our honeymoon in Charleston)

Thanks San for posting my finishing tutorial to your list of tutorials :)

Natty-No secret...I just imagine what I want something to BEE and/or look like-then I set out to make it happen :) I am a visual type person :)

NOW get this...I mailed a package of fabrics to Zohrah in Singapore on the 12th of August. I paid the extra shipping cost to have it arrive to her in 7-10 days...WELL, after 52 days it finally made it to her! CAN you believe that??? What is the purpose of charging EXTRA shipping if that is going to happen?????
I am happy they finally arrived, Zohrah. I hope you will enjoy them :)
