My V-day excange has reached Shelleen :) [EDITED FOR WIP PROGRESS]

I just got off the phone with Shelleen and she has received my V-day exchange, so I can safely share now :) I made a needlebook for her :)
I am so glad you like it my friend :) I was so happy to FINALLY have your name for an exchange...as many years as we have known each other, I have never had your name in an exchange :)

Today was A Time For Everything SAL with Dawn...I know that Renee is visiting with Dawn, and I know that Dawn will probably not get to stitch today due to all the excitement, (who can blame her-I hope they are having the BEST time) so I didn't want to jump ahead on the SAL...so I mainly did some of the b/s -and have put it away until next Tuesday :)

I decided today to create a table on my website to keep track of my exchange information. I keep a hard copy on my desk in a notebook, but I wanted to create something online as well. It will be useful to me to be able to record the information on my site as well :)

A Quick Stitch :)

Today I stitched a quickie :) Waxing Moon's Winter Cardinal Freebie. I initially was going to stitch all 4 on the same piece of fabric-but decided that I wanted to stitch and finish them individually. It was a VERY fast stitch and it's cute as can be :) The scan does not pick up the colors really well.

Thanks for your comments on AOW :) I appreciate them very much :) Also thanks for the input on ONS's to buy specialty fibers from :)

My apologies to those that think I am avoiding their blogs-that is NOT the case at all-I just got out of the habit of reading blogs daily while I was sick and it's taking me awhile to get back into the habit ...and I have been pretty busy the past 4 days :):) I miss you all though :)

Have a great weekend :)

I think I am 100% now :)

Or at least I feel like it :) Today was another wonderful, fun day! I went to lunch with friends and we had such a nice time! I am keeping my energy all day now and not getting worn out and just feeling like my old self again :) WOOHOO! I don't wish what I had on anybody! It was a BUTT kicker!

I finally managed to stitch enough today to justify a post on Angel of Winter. I am close to completing her gown...I still have all the filling in of the Silver braid to do as well as the beads all around the edges and some filling in here and there on the gown with 3756, and some other things like the beads in her hair and around her upper body...but I am getting there :) THEN, the wings EEK! Lot's more white :)

Susimac, I ordered the sampler from my LNS :) I got the pic from elegant stitch I think :)

Poncho said Squawk to you all :) LOL! He is VERY vocal :)

Have a great weekend...I look forward to stitching a gift or small or exchange :)

***oh, can anyone suggest the best place to buy fibers online?? I am in need of some NPS's and some other specialty threads :) TIA :)***

Today was another wonderful day for me :)

I am so happy to be out and about again :) Hubby and I took off early for a day out and didn't return home until late this afternoon. It was such a nice day :) WELL, minus the screw that we picked up in my left front tire and had to get repaired tonight...LOL!

I have a new (actually old/familiar) addition to the family. 8 years ago I gave my Grandmother our cockatiel "Poncho" after my grandfather had died. She loved him and I knew she would love to have him to keep her company and I was right. WELL, guess what??? He's home again as of today :) My grandmother can no longer care for him as she once did due to health issues, so he is back with us :)...he is just as I remember him-VERY LOUD..ROFL!!!

Yesterday I ordered along with some other charts/fabrics "Sunflower Bee Garden Sampler" from Praiseworthy Stitches (these two ladies are local and I used to see them weekly when I worked for my LNS-we sold their charts on consignment)-The model piece at the LNS is GORGEOUS-I fell in love with it yesterday and had to order it! The cover pic and the pic I found online to share does not begin to do this piece justice...EVEN though I do not need to start any new large projects until I finish up a couple of my WIP's, I am going to start this one as soon as it comes in next week. Is there anyone out there that would like to SAL with me on this one??? Here's a pic, but it is very poor quality and I promise you it does not do this one justice!

Oooh, looks who's feeling much better :) :) LOL!

Stash shopping always does that to me :) :) I was so happy to be able to get out today with my best friend and go to my LNS :) I had a most wonderful day and I am just now getting in :) I picked up some lovely goodies and ordered a few more while I was at it :) That means another trip next week to pick up the order :) :) :)
What I got today :)
Lavender Luminescence-The Sweetheart Tree
Season of Rest-Little House Needleworks
Summer House-Blackbird Designs(for a giftie)
Evergreen-Blackbird Designs
Christmas Motif Sampler-JBW
Winter Stitches with Fiber pack-Jeanette Douglas
Quaker Motif Ornament-The Samplar Workes
Souvenir Sampler-The Drawn Thread
Three Friends-The Drawn Thread
Virtue Sampler-Hillside Samplings

I had a nice dinner with hubby last evening :) Thanks for the Anniversary Wishes :) My 25th was on the 9th, and we have still to celebrate it as we would like :) As for the trip...I want to go to a beautiful B&B in the Smokies/Tenn...just finding the time to do so with hubby's busy schedule :) It will more than likely be a summer trip :)

Dawn, I stitched VERY little on ATFE last night-not enough to justify a boring post :) :) :) hoping next week to pick up the slack :)

Hugs to you all :)

Oooh, something lovely to share :)

I received this last week, but the instructions were not to open until V-day...but Ash has posted that we can go ahead and open and enjoy them...AND I DID!!!! so, here is my V-day exchange from Svenja :) I love it! It's REALLY nice! I love the bag, the stitched design, the fabric you chose to finish it in, the ties around the bag, the back with the personalization and all the extra goodies :) Thank you so much, Svenja :) You made my day :) After being stuck in the house for two weeks now-I REALLY needed this :) !!

I am FINALLY getting out for awhile this afternoon-hubby is taking me out to dinner, as we never got to celebrate out 25th wedding anniversary due to work and my illness...so until we get to celebrate properly, he is taking me out for dinner (we plan on taking a trip later) :)!! WOOHOO it will be the best dinner out in some time as I just can't wait to get out of the house :) :) :) :) :)

Lot's of stitching....but none to share :)

I have been getting in some good stitching over the weekend, but I cannot share any of it as it is for exchanges :) I am working on something totally different for an exchange and it's taking a little longer than I anticipated, but I can't wait to put it together :)
I also have 3 gifts to assemble within the next few days and get them into the mail on Friday :)

I haven't been much in a blogging mood lately, I apologize-my being sick has really taken it out of me, and I haven't felt much like chatting. I called my doctor this morning about my ear (seems I MAY have fluid in it from being sick) and he said to give it another week to see if it clears up on it's own, and if not to come in. SOOO, I may go to the doctor at the end of this week...we'll see how things progress.
I am doing much better though and I even did some housework yesterday....that was an accomplishment, as I had no energy for over a week to do any housework.(Luckily I am a clean freak and my house was already clean when I got sick-so it wasn't that much to do yesterday) NOW, if I could just get out, as I am accustomed to doing. I go to lunch with friends during the week-but have not done so in 2 weeks now.

Have a good week :)

My Garden Exchange for Leena

My Garden Exchange has finally reached Leena :) I stitched September Garden from Elizabeth's Designs and made it into a bag. (Hindsight, I wish I had used a backing fabric behind the stitched piece...I didn't realize until after I had sewn it to the bag, that you could see through it. I didn't want to take it apart, as I was scared of damamging the stitched piece...Leena says she loves it though. I am glad that you like it, Leena :)
I sewed the bottom of the bag with a seam that will allow it to stand up when there are contents in the bag.

I also sent some extra goodies with it. A Erica Michael's Garden kit, A piece of blue linen, a garden Journal and some garden charms.

I am stitching on an exchange piece today and cannot share it either ... :)

I know you all must be bored seeing Celtic Autumn progress...

I know how boring it can get seeing the same progress pics over and over and I wouldn't be sharing her, if it didn't help to motivate me and she is also a SAL and I want to share my progress for my SAL mates :) So, if you are bored...click away from my blog now :)
I did stitch on her some today. I am still feeling very worn out and my throat is very sore again today....that's how this whole mess started, with a sore throat! I found it so much easier to stitch in the swirls on her gown after I had stitched in the braid...the other swirls are so much easier to stitch in :) I may try to work on her a bit more tonight-but my eyes are asking me not to :(

Juul dear-I only received 1 e-mail from you and that was on the 5th of January...about not being able to post to my blog anymore if I disable the anonymous comments. I haven't received anything else (HOWEVER, I do have my junk/spam/undesirable e-mail filter set to the highest level so it catches all that garbage, and it does catch some of the good e-mail on occasion...depending on how it is addressed and the subject line-but I am not willing to take that off-it's not worth all the junk that gets through otherwise....and I don't have time to go through hundreds of e-mail daily to see if any good mail got caught up in the junk...sorry about that)and I sent a reply to the January 5th e-mail -I try to reply in a timely manner to all e-mail I receive that requires a reply :):) :) If you don't receive a reply I more than likely didn't receive your e-mail :)

Dear Isabelle ...I have 2 packages for the Adopt A Stitcher ready to send out to you...I wanted to go ahead and get 1 of them off as a "hello I am glad to have your name package"...but I have yet to venture out. I HOPE to be able to get one of them in the mail to you next week-the other will go out around the first of February :) :)

Thank you all for your comments on both CA and ATFE :) I am enjoying these two pieces very much and I am thankful for my SAL partners :) They keep me motivated as well as your wonderfully kind comments :) Thanks so much :)

Thank you all for your comments on Celtic Autumn

I do appreciate them very much :) I have been asked about the fabric by several people-it is a silkweaver solo, so it has no name :) I received it in one of my FOTM shipments and it was just perfect for this design :) As for the color conversions-no, they are not my own-they are from another stitcher :)

I have had a pretty miserable day-I feel really wrung out! :( My illness has affected my vision and everytime I try to sit and stitch I have to take frequent breaks as I can't see the fabric very well (this happened to me once before when I was very ill with a bacterial lung infection-I am nowhere near that sick now, and was surprised to find my vision was once again affected)-it's very discouraging and I feel like I am not being a very good SAL partner for Dawn as Tuesday's is our A Time For Everything SAL. I did stitch on it as much as I could. I made some progress, but was really hoping for much more as last week was a slow week for me on this piece. ANYWHO-this is what I accomplished (I have put it away and will not stitch anymore tonight to allow my eyes to rest)-you can't really tell what anything is-outside the basket, without the b/s...but believe it or not, there are several bunnies below her and a glove....

I think I have Cabin Fever....

ROFL! I guess I am feeling the pressure of being sick and stuck in the house for the past 5 days. I am one that goes somewhere just about daily and I feel like I am going stir crazy! :) I still don't feel well enough to venture out just yet and I get tired very easily, so I will probably be stuck indoors a few more days yet. I will miss my Red Hatter's Luncheon tomorrow :(

Today is not my Celtic Autumn SAL day, but I didn't feel much like stitching and especially not on my Monday project, so I pulled her out and stitched on her a couple hours. She will get more attention again on Wednesday :)
Jenn-thank you for your comment on her-she is stitched on a Silkweaver Solo, so I don't have a name, but it is a yummy fabric for her :) I can never get a good pic of her or the fabric. This will be the first L&L I am keeping for myself-all the others I have stitched have been gifts. I am excited to be keeping her and getting her hung on my wall sometime soon :)

I have received quite a few e-mail today about the U.S. exchange group and I will get a BB set up for this. Here is the link to join the BB. I am working on getting some forums set up and moderators assigned so we can get this off the ground and get in some of the earlier U.S. Holidays. PLEASE FILL IN YOUR PROFILE-THAT IS A REQUIREMENT...also, make sure you do not have the profile as private. Thanks so much :) I will continue to take e-mail of those in the United States that are interested in this group and also those that want to volunteer to Moderate and exchange. My E-mail addy is steele4 at comporium dot net
You are welcome to join if you are a blogger or non blogger.

Thanks for your comments on Angel Of Winter. I am so ready to have some of my large WIP's finished. I am not happy having so many large projects on the go and would really like to get that under control :)

Juul, yes, I received your e-mail and replied to you :) Guess it got eaten?? LOL!

WOW, did I get knocked on my butt !!!

I have been so sick for the past 4 days! I still feel pretty bad, but thought maybe visiting with my friends would make me feel a little better.
Thank you for your e-mails :) They are appreciated :) :)
I haven't turned the computer on until now...just have not felt like it-I bet you all have been so busy while I was away....I hope to catch up soon.

I have stitched a little on Angel Of Winter today (I know you must be sick of updates on her)-today has been the only day I have felt like stitching at all. I feel like I am getting nowhere...3756 is so close to the white in her gown, I feel like I am not making any progress :(

I will be taking about 14 members on the SBEBB and about 20 on the FGBB. If you are interested you will need to send me an e-mail. :) PLEASE only send an e-mail if you are willing to be an ACTIVE member, as lurkers and those that do not participate only take up a space that someone that really wants to join in the fun could occupy :) PLEASE include in the e-mail which BB you are interested in joining. Thanks so much :)

Also, I have had a request to open a U.S. exchange group. I would be willing to do this, if I had enough volunteers to help me and if there was enough interest in a U.S. exchange group. If you are interested, please e-mail me @ steele4atcomporiumdotnet(please make the adjustments needed in the e-mail addy). Please include in your e-mail if you are willing to help moderate an exchange or if you are only interested in joining in the exchanges. I WILL reply to your e-mail. If you do not receive a reply within a 24 hour period (I have had some e-mail get sent to my junk box, because of the way the subject line reads and/or the name of the sender)please resend. Thank you :)

Rosa, has your RR made it back to you yet??? and, Joanie, did you receive the tattersall?? You should have had it early in the week last week :)

Under the Weather :(

I guess I finally picked up what hubby had :( He suffered with it for 2 weeks and is not completely over it yet. I am suffering flu like symptoms and just feel really yucky :(.

I stitched on Bird Bath today. I am putting it away now as I really don't feel much like stitching (that's really sick for me). I tried to fill in the bird bath and pretty much accomplished that-still a bit to go on the bird bath itself, but that's for another day!

I did finish up one of the gifts last night that I had been working on-LOVE IT! I can't share yet though.

Thanks for your comments on my WIP's. I really do love Celtic Autumn. I am trying to make a decision on her gown-I have seen it stitched full as it was before I removed the braid on that side-and I have seen it stitched as a tighter fit-I am really leaning for the tighter fit, but will make a decision later.

Not much to share...

I have been busy stitching on a couple of gifts I need soon and have not devoted much time to any other stitching, but the gifts are sure a lot of fun to work on :) :). I did stitch on A Time for Everything yesterday with Dawn, but spent more time stitching on my gifts, and didn't make much progress. I hope to make much better progress next week.

I am continuing to work on the gifts, but I do hope to put in a few stitches sometime this evening on my Wednesday SAL Celtic Autumn. I did manage a couple of hours on her tonight.

Wow, did we have fantastic weather today....

It hit 70 and sunny! It was so beautiful. It was hard to come inside :)

I didn't stitch on my Monday WIP today, as I wanted to finish up the ornie I started over the weekend with the FGBB. I chose Lighting The Way Santa from The Artist Collection. I am a huge Pat Thode Santa lover :)
This turned out really adorable. I left off the treasures in the center of each star as well as the beads on the xmas trees, as I thought they took away from the tree itself, and that the trees show up much better without them. Please forgive the wrinkles, I haven't pressed him yet. I am unsure at this time whether I will finish him as an ornament or a stuffed standing finish.

I love finishing :)

I decided to make a new blog entry as the other one had gotten way long, and I wanted to share my other "finshing" for today. It was a "focus on finishing" weekend over on the FGBB-and I took advantage of that and finished up a couple of pieces this weekend.

I stitched this on Dec. 26th, 2005. It is the Watering Can Motif from the Garden Gloves series from The Prairie Schooler. I didn't want to make the glove, so I decided to make another neeedlebook and if I say so myself, this is quite lovely.
It is a giftie for a friend :)

Lisa asked if I used cardboard in the previous NB, yes that one does have cardboard in it-this one does not.
Annette, yes, the other Needlebook is from HIH. Cottage Garden is the design name.

I also started my January ornie for the FGBB as well today, but have not stitched much on it-went out to eat with hubby and did some finishing and some other goofing off...lol!

Thank you so much for your comments on the Cottage Garden NB and the exchanges from Sylvie and for the support you all have shown.

I AM loving the invisible stat counter-it is awesome and gives ISP's and lot's of information.

I hope I can soon get away from comment moderation-I am not very fond of it. I have considered another suggestion of adding a stat counter to my blog-one that shows location and gives details about visitors. Free ones work great, but if I subscribe to one, I have more options of getting information...Definitely something to consider.

I received two exchanges in today's mail....to my surprise, Sylvie was also my Garden Themed Exchange partner. I knew she was my Adopt a Stitcher sender, but had no idea she also had my name for the Garden Themed exchange!
My Garden Exchange
A beautifully framed Lizzie Kate :)

All the goodies. She also sent an SB chart" Grow" and some seed to plant a butterfly garden.
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

My Adopt A Stitcher Exchange (She has my name for a full year-it is a requirement that we send 4 packages to our adopted stitcher's during the year-but we are not limited to 4 and can send as many as often as we like and they can contain anything we choose to send) Sylive spoiled me with Bath goodies, A CUTE BEE kit that I can't wait to make and a lovely House Mouse Design Pocket Calender. Thank you so much, Sylvie! You made my day!
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I will be able to turn off the comment moderation, as I have subscribed to a stat counter that allows me to hide the information as well as dispaly it if I need/choose to and it gives WONDERFUL details of each visitor! Thanks for the suggestions :)

Thank you all again!
I hope you enjoy the weekend!

Thank you all-I have been on the phone with my ISP

My best friends hubby works for them and I have been trying to find out what I can do about the harassment. He is on vacation until the 15th-but has promised to get in contact with me about this.

I will take the suggestions of comment moderation and see how that works out. I am hoping though that he will have some suggestions for me as well-I took the suggestion of his secretary and documented days and times and I will be keeping any harassing comments and/or e-mail and I have taken my e-mail address off public places, with the exception of my BB's. She assured me that all e-mail CAN be traced to the sender-even if the sender is using yahoo-gmail-hotmail or any of the other free services. SO, we shall see what turns up.

Thank you all for being there for me (and, Karen-thank you so much-you are so good to me! I appreciate it so much)-I love some of you like family and to not be in contact makes me sadder than the nasty remarks! (((hugs to all my friends)))

I stitched Rosa's snowman RR. I enjoyed stitching an empty square for her and I hope she likes my choice! It is on it's way home to you, Rosa :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Joanie, I have sent you the piece of tattersall-you should have it Monday :) I hope you will enjoy it :)

My Garden Exchange went to the P.O today as well :)

I have not gotten a lot of stitching in today-I did finish Rosa's RR and I worked on AOW some this evening. A friend called this afternoon and asked me to dinner tonight-so I went out with her. We had a nice time-I am glad I went.

Here is my progress on Bird Bath from yesterday.
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

And my AOW progress from tonight-it's not much, but I keep filling in more and more of the gown-one of the colors is very close to the color of the fabby and you can't hardly see it in the pic. Also, she is too large for my q-snap now and some of the stitching on the top is not visible in this pic.
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I have made my choice of ornie to stitch over the weekend for the FGBB, and, I hope to do the finishing on my Lottery piece for the SBEBB as well.

Have a great weekend!
Thanks again, my friends :)

Thank you everyone!

You are all so kind-thank you for the comments, support and the abundance of e-mail. I appreciate all your thoughts and concerns over this matter. Cindy made a suggestion to me, about continuing to blog, but turn off my comments....if I did that, would you all be willing to e-mail me with any comments and/or questions you have concerning my blog entries? I know it will be a little extra "work" to do so on your parts, as you would have to send an e-mail...but I would still love to hear from those of you that are loyal readers/commenters-and most of you that read/comment have my e-mail address. And with e-mail, it's easier to trace the IP of the problem...if that should arise. Your thoughts on this please???

Just to clarify-this is not from my BB's-this is a comment made to an entry on my blog. I enjoy each and every member that is active on both my BB's-I have had NO trouble there.

It's been great, and I will miss blogging.....

But, I have had enough of people harrassing me, and I just can't take this anymore. If I had done something to deserve it, then I could understand, but I have not done anything but try to be a friend to everyone I meet. Most people that know me, know that I would do most anything and give most anything to those that need and/or ask. I am heartbroken that someone would be so cruel. I know I am not the only one that has ever had an unkind word/comment made to them (but this is not the first time or even the second) and I know it shouldn't bother me-but it does-it hurts me, and I just can't continue to allow it, as it affects the person I am...online and off-that is why I have to make a change. (I'm sorry)
Nobody has to say anything, just know that I have enjoyed those of you that have touched my life and those lives that I have been allowed to touch through blogging.

I will keep my website updated with my stitching, if any of you would like to follow it.

I do not know where the person (make that coward) that left the Anon comment regarding my BB's got their information, but it's wrong-there is NO tension on either of my BB's. We have a wonderful group of ladies/friends on both BB's. -Because I had to close the BB's to membership right now to keep the cost of GOLD down on both my BB's was reason for you to leave such a nasty comment??? and in a cowardly way at that- or was it the fact that I asked that my blog not be used for BB business???? Geesh, you need to get a life!!!!
If any member of either of my BB's is unhappy please e-mail me. Thank you so much!

Celtic Autumn Progress

I made good progress on Celtic Autumn
today.
I am unsure about the far right hand side of her gown, I think it is TOO full, and may end up frogging the braid I have stitched in there and tightening up her gown a little. I know it is suppose to look full-but she looks pregnant to me. :)

Do you do your stash shopping at your LNS, ONS, or both? Which do you
like better? Why?
Without a doubt, I prefer going to my LNS-!! nothing can beat hands on before buying!-but as it is a 45 minute to an hour drive, I do shop online occasionally.

Thank you for your comments on A Time for Everything and the "better tomorrow" wishes-I appreciate them so much.

A New Start

Today was the offical start date of the SAL that Dawn and I are doing together.
A Time for Everything. I have had a bad day :( :( and this is as much as I have stitched on it today. It will be a long stitch as it is full of b/s and fractionals. I am looking forward to seeing Dawn's progress and hearing her thoughts on the first day of stitching. I am looking forward to next Tuesday and working on it again...hopefully a much better day for me! I love the concept of female scarecrows! That's a first for me-and I love anything to do with the 4 seasons, especially autumn!

Stormy start to the New Year...

Boy, have we had some rough weather. We lost electricity last night (well, this morning about 3 am) due to lightning -it's calmer now, but we may get some more storms later this evening. I wish everyone in the path of storms to be safe.

I stitched on And The Animals Came today. I got quite a bit stitched and I am happy with the progress :)

Thank you all for the wishes for the New Year :) You're so sweet!

Today I stitched January Motif from "A Prairie Year". It is part of a Year Long SAL on the Friends Gather BB. There is a Motif for each month. I will be stitching one a month for the rest of 2006. I am stitching mine altogether on a piece of 28ct. Tattersall. I am stitching them 4 across by 3 down. I love the way this came out.

I am looking forward to a year filled with wonderful friends, my family and my stitching (among many other things) I have never had a disappointing stitching year as I am happy with anything and everything I can accomplish. I can't wait to start going through my stash "searching" for the perfect piece to stitch at any given moment (that's one of the parts I like best...the playing in my stash looking for that design that is calling to me at that time)-for myself, gifts and/or exchanges. I am also looking forward to spoiling my Adopted Stitcher, Isabelle throughtout 2006. I have her name for a full year of spoiling. It should be a lot of fun deciding what to put together for her.

Now I am off to my mom's this evening for New Years Supper :)

hugs,
