For those of you that have asked...A Baby Update

I spoke with his grandmother about an hour ago and there is "some" good news. The surgery to relieve the blood and pressure behind his eyes seems to have worked and they do not think at this point (as they did earlier) that he will be blind. They are still unsure of the extent "IF ANY" of brain damage he may have suffered-test at a later date/s will be more conclusive. He is improving and if he continues to do so he "may" be released from the hospital at the end of this week. He will be released to his grandparents as the investigation still continues. Your prayers for this baby and the whole situation would still be much appreciated.

Project CPR :)

I "revived" a WIP last night. Some of you will remember An april Box and all the problems I had with it and decided to scrap it! WELL, I have never ever thrown away or not finished a piece I have started (I did restart Oh Christmas Tree, after having it half stitched as I didn't like the fabric I was stitching it on-but I STILL have the one I scrapped and finished the new start of Oh Christmas Tree for my mom for Xmas last year) and it was getting the better of me knowing that I had put so much work into this piece already as it is a lot of over one stitching....SO, after 3 hours of ripping it went from this

back to this and I will put it back into my WIP's. (sorry about the pics-they are the originals from back in Sept. before I had a new camera-ones a scan ones a digi-I will post better pics when I make some progress on this one) I am very pleased with my decision to revive this project even though it was "Torture" frogging all those over one stitches-which might I add were not many in the green I had stitched so far on that band-but they really gave me a heck of a time frogging-wise!!! I had to bite my tongue a number of times :) So no "stitching" to speak of...but this is gotta count for something!! I made progress...right?? even if it was in "reverse"!

Just A Quick Update

No Stitching for me as of yet today-It's been a long day for me and I am just worn out. I have worked all day at church preparing for a huge fundraiser we are having tomorrow. We have sold 2500 tickets for a chicken bog dinner and there was/is a lot of preparation that goes into that just to get things ready for the actual sale....and right now I am just pooped!-but in a good way! We have a new family life building (Oh, it's a most wonderful building!) and the money raised will go towards the building fund.

I wanted to post a quick update on the baby as so many of you have shown concern. I am still not at liberty to reveal any information on the circumstances, as the investigation still continues and being part of my family I wouldn't ever want to post false information that could hurt someone. HOWEVER, I can tell you that the baby had surgery today. I wish I could give a positive progress report on him, but there is still no way to know exactly how much damage he has suffered at this time. Please continue to remember this child in your prayers. You have touched me so much with your concerns over this little guy. What wonderful friends I have. I love each of you!

Thank you all for your comments on my WIP's-I appreciate them SO very much.
I hope to be able to catch up on reading/commenting over the weekend :)

I have 3 new magazines that I do not want if someone would like to have them-they can let me know and I will gladly send them to you. I would prefer to mail in the US as these would probably cost more to send out of country than the actual magazines cost.

Thank you all for your kind comments on HoHRH...

I can't remember right off who posted that it looked like a quick stitch...NO, it's anything but. That one square took me 4 days of stitching on it alone to finish and I only did so as I didn't want to get too far behind Carol as she has completed 2 full squares. As Carol said, there is a lot of "dense" stitching in the squares! That is so true-I felt like it took me forever to stitch that one house. I will start my second house tomorrow. I am really looking forward to this SAL with a great group of stitchers.

Thank you, there are always some of you that are concerned when I am not around...I am just a little out of sorts right now, due to several things going on with just different stuff and I just haven't felt much like blogging. Never fear-I will be back full swing soon :) Thank you though for your concerns :) You are all so sweet!

I did keep my Tuesday and Wednesday SAL commitments. (I may get a little more stitching on CA tonight-but we have guests coming and I didn't know how much stitching time I would have later so I stopped for now)

I am not real chatty right now, but I do hope to read/comment on a few blogs to keep from getting behind.

I would like to thank you all for your support over the last few days. Your comments and e-mail have been a blessing. Your continued prayers would be much appreciated.

Karen, I am so happy you are home and I hope you had a nice time.

Thank you for all your prayers....

The situation has not changed with the little guy. I am STILL waiting to hear what the investigation concludes before posting any further details (but as soon as something conclusive is found-I will post the details) PLEASE continue to pray for this child. He is only 7 1/2 months old. It's really hard for me to understand why this happened. I am angry right now and my heart just hurts!

I NEEDED a pick me up today-(I have tried to stay positive today as I am so thankful for MANY things in my life-I have so much to be thankful for- but my mind has been on this sad thing that has happened to one of our little ones)and I found one when I returned home today. My mailbox was overflowing with more gifts from my dear friends :) Thank you so much Isabelle and Anne, you spoiled me :) and at least for a little while I was able to think of something happy.

Dear Isabelle, Your package did make it and on my actual B-day :) So no worries my friend :) I was so surprised to find these lovely gifts waiting for me today. THANK you from the bottom of my heart! Isabelle stitch a lovely pillow for me-it's adorable! She also sent Busy Bee Sampler from The Sweetheart Tree, a beautiful card with the sweetest words inside-thank you Isabelle, your words touched me so much. I feel the SAME for you! And a BEAUTIFUL wallhanging! WOW!

And Dear Anne-I don't know what to say-I was utterly surprised by your gifts to me! I love them all! How very sweet of you. THANK you!!
Anne stitched the most adorable Beehive which is mounted into a mirror, it was inside the beautiful bee drawstring bag you can see and it was all wrapped in that adorable bee paper-It really put a smile on my face.

I don't know what I did to deserve all the love I have received from you all for my b-day. It has touched me more than you can know. It is TRULY humbling!

Carol, thank you so much for your e-mail, your phone number and the offer of calling you to talk about this-I may take you up on that-or at least chat in an e-mail. I appreciate that more than you can know.

On another note, I have had a couple of people e-mail me and even a post or two about "feeling bad that they didn't send me anything for my B-day"....NEVER ever feel bad about that -it's not allowed!-your friendships are your gifts to me (the gifts I have received are bonuses). I have so many wonderful friends through my blog-my BB's and my website. I couldn't ask for anything more-your comments, BB post and e-mail are worth more to me than you can imagine. I treasure you all and just knowing you care for me is all the gifts I need :) Thank you for being here :)

love to you all,
BeckySC

Prayers Needed

Yes, it's my Birthday and I should be enjoying the day, but tragedy has befallen our family and I am here instead to ask for prayers for one of our babies born last year. He is fighting for his life right now and it doesn't look good at all. I really don't want to go into details here on my blog as there is a police investigation being done at this time and until all details are sorted out I wouldn't want to post false information. I just feel very sick to my stomach over this situation. It's very heartbreaking.
So for my birthday I would like it very much if all of you that prayed, would say a prayer for this little fellow.

(please know that I appreciate all the b-day gifts, cards, e-mail and wishes that so many of you have bestowed upon me. You are very caring and special people and I love each of you)

Thanks for your prayers,
BeckySC

A new SAL (edited for B-day gifts)

I finally received everything I needed to get my start on HoHRH! This is a new SAL with Carol, Barbara and Bea (there may be another stitcher, not sure if I left someone out-if so, my apologies). I am stitching on it on Thursday's. This is my progress from yesterday. I may stitch a little more on it today to try and catch up. After that though, I will only stitch on it on Thursday's :)
I am loving everything about this project. I love the fabric and the VC silks are just so wonderful to stitch with!

Comment on your comments (giving and recieving): Do you love comments
or hate them? Do you check them every day, never check them, or find
them helpful? And finally, are you convinced no one is reading your
blog if you don't get any?
Yes, I love comments :) I think we all do. It's really enjoyable to read what others leave for you. I don't appreciate nasty/negative comments, but thankfully they are few and far between. My comments are e-mailed to me, so I read them even if I am not on my blog. I appreciate opinions of my fellow stitcher's and find them very helpful. I love commenting as well and try to do so as often as possible. I do get behind at times as I sometimes feel overwhelmed with all the wonderful blogs I read :) Blog reading/commenting is not someting that goes quickly :)I need to learn a better method for distributing my time to my blog reading/commenting. I do tend to stay away from really graphic intense blogs (as they take forever to upload) or blogs that have REALLY long post. Even if I get behind, I try to leave a comment for everyone that leaves one for me :) I try to visit all the new people that visit my blog-I may overlook some at times and I apologize if I have done so. I try to reply to all questions I receive as well. Again if I miss you and your question-my apologies :). I get quite a few comments, so I know people are reading and I have an invisible tracker that shows me who visits and when. I don't ever feel as if people are not reading, because I am guilty myself of reading and not commenting at times. I do love comments and hope to continue to receive them :) I adore all my regular blog readers!!!! :) :) :)

Oooh, look what the mailman just left for me :)
Thank you so much, Barbara! I love it all :) You are SO sweet to remember me on my b-day :) MANY hugs to you :) Thank you so much for the words in your card :)

Today was another lovely mail day. I received gifts from Cathy and Sylvie :)
I am in awe of both gifts! Thank you SO much ladies...There is a funny part to this as well...both ladies sent me the same chart from ED, "Honey Bee" and I also received it from another lady as well ...LOL!

Cathy made a beautiful hardanger heart for my B-day and V-day. WOW, it is gorgeous! The colors are truly awesome! My DD has tried to take it already :) She also sent the ED chart as well as Be True from SB! WOW-I love that chart!! Sylvie has my name for the Adopt A Stitcher program and she has overwhelmed me with my B-day gift! WOW! I honestly do not know what to say! She made the most lovely Bourse for me! I have been wanting one of these but had not gotten around to making one-now I have a VERY special one :) It's so lovely! I couldn't get a pic of it drawn up into a bag-but I have pics of the stitching and the finishing fabric! It is simply wonderful. She also sent the ED chart, as well as some lovely pins with flower top heads (TOO adorable) some Vikki Clayton silks that are most yummy and some buttons! You have really spoiled me and my B-day has been so perfect and it's not even here yet :) THANK you :)
The verse in the Bourse translates to:

Thank you all for your concern, posts, e-mails and thoughts :) I am feeling much better today :) My endometriosis is not usually so hard on me and I can deal with it without much interruption in my everyday life at all-this time proved a little different :) Thank you all-your well wishes worked :)

Thank you so much to Carol and Nicki :)

I received 2 beautiful packages today for my b-day. I didn't wait to open them, as I have had a really bad couple of days. My endometriosis has really been worse than normal the past two days with yesterday and most of today resulting in total fatigue (as well as some other symptoms I won't go into here) :( I slept most of the day yesterday and did NOTHIHNG at all I can't even stitch right now-that is how exhausted I feel. I came online once yesterday to e-mail a couple of people and planned to read blogs-but had to return to bed pretty much immediately. Today has been much of the same :( ...SO needless to say when my hubby brought in the packages for me they were a welcome site. I will e-mail you ladies very shortly with a proper thank you. :)

Nicki, to my total surprise sent me a the cutest little hanging pillow. I love it, Nicki! She also sent Chessie and Me "Behold The Bee" chart! You are so sweet. Thank you for making my b-day even more special (sorry I couldn't wait until the big day to open it)-and it came on a day I really needed it :) Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

And dear Carol sent me Queen Bee Sampler from SB! WOW!!!! I don't know what to say dear friend! I love it and I didn't have it-but had thought about ordering it! She also sent some yummy fabrics and some JJ needles :) Thank you so much TOO for making my b-day even more special :) I am so blessed to have friends like you! (also, the other package came! YAY!!! I will send you an e-mail as soon as I post this.

Lelia, I received your cute V-day card :) Thank you so much and Chelle I received the Just Nan chart today-JUST lovely :) Thank you again :) :) :)

I love you guys :) I REALLY do!!!!!

I'm still not up to reading/commenting on blogs or BB's...but I MISS you all :)

BIG hugs :)

What a BEAUTIFUL package to come home to after a VERY long day :)

WOW, were we ever busy today for the fundraiser :) It went great but I am SO tired-my feet are aching as is my back-standing on cement floors for 9 hours serving BBQ gets "painful"-but WELL worth it for the funds we raise.

I came home to my lovely Vikki Clayton Silks for HOHRH :) WOOHOO! I am thrilled with these beautiful silks...and I think I may be hooked already :)
Here are the silks with my piece of 36 ct. Lakeside Linen Vintage Pearled Barley...ALMOST ready :) just waiting on the chart :)
Aren't they gorgeous??? WOW!!!!

Another Camera test post :)

Between all the hustle and bustle of BBQ preparations for tomorrow- I was able to go camera shopping once again. After learning there is indeed a defect in the HP model I had and after a demonstration in the "right" store-I stayed with HP just a newer model. I even had the sales person take pics in the store with the camera-I had him take some close ups of paper work...small writing -he was very impressed with the camera as it actually picked up the grain of the paper :). I haven't had much time to "play" with it today as I have been very busy-but I did take a couple of quick shots-and I am VERY pleased with this camera :). I did look at some of the ones you all mentioned-especially the Fuji camera-but I wanted a docking station, and they did not have one. (now the dreaded ordeal of returning the camera I purchased yesterday-that'll have to be next week though!)

This is just a test pic-it's one of the beehives from my LOVELY Beehive RR stitched back in 2001 :) (before I resized this-you could actually stitch by this photo!)Looks pretty good huh???

Thanks for all the input on cameras I appreciate them so much :)
Also, thanks for the comment on Star of Wonder-not sure who asked, but yes the sheep are over 1 as well as the verse.

Have a great weekend!

My Ornament Commitment for the month....

I know my weekend will be a very busy one with our annual VFD BBQ Fundraiser. I won't get a lot of stitching done, especially today (Friday) and Saturday, so I stitched my ornament for the month on Thursday. It's was a With My Needle Ornie SAL this time around on the FGBB. Some of us chose Star of Wonder as our Feb ornie.
Let me tell ya-this ornie is not as simple a stitch as it may appear ;)!

UT-OH...............[edited for camera test]

S-N-O-W-I-N-G in South Carolina.....and has been doing so since about 6 am. YUCK!!!!

Oh, forgot to say I spoke with HP and I have to return my camera for a new one as this one has corrupt camera settings or there is a hardware problem. IF I can get out later (SUN is shining brightly now and my dad said the roads are clear-NO we don't drive in snow Carol...snow virtually shuts SC down-but it has been so warm here I guess it couldn't stick to the roads as it would have needed to be COLD for several days in a row to make conditions right for accumulation on the roads) I am going to return it for a new one :)

Well, if you didn't know it snowed in SC this morning, you would never know it now-roads are dry-sun came out and less than 30 minutes later ALL the snow had disappeared. SOOOOOOO, I went off on a quest to replace my camera...which I did BUT it was an ordeal worse than pulling teeth (that's what my granny would say). I won't go into it here-but I can tell you I was getting very upset with the store! After a LONG battle on my part-they replaced the camera :) It's not like I had it forever, it wasn't even a week old-and I still had all the receipts and it had a 30 day return policy at the store itself! Sheesh !!!! Oh well, enough of that-my blood pressure has been raised enough today ;)!

I needed a subject for a test run on "my NEW new camera" (LMBO) and my adopted cat (we got her when she was only a month old-son got her for his 11th b-day as a gift-he is now 22, but when son moved out last September I somehow inherited her...not that I mind, but I felt sure he would take her with him)ANYWAY, she didn't mind posing for a pic...so in all her glory, her is my Meagan :)

Oh, my DD had a fit that I shared Meagan and none of the other animals...so may I please introduce...

Celtic Autumn Update :)

I am mostly finished with the lady herself...except for deciding what to do with her hands :) Nicki-I realized as I was trying to make a decision tonight that I never answered your question about her hands...sorry about that-I still have no answer :)LOL! I would really love to stitch her with leaves falling from her hands as I have seen others do-but I am a little nervous about getting that right. I have not done any of the beading in her gown or hair yet-as I leave beading until last. I started on the border tonight, but did not get very far with it...but all in all a good day for her :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I am very frustrated with my camera-I tried to take a pic tonight and this kept happening-It wasn't doing that yesterday-I have been all through the manual and cannot figure out how to fix it :(...can anyone please tell me how to correct it? TIA :)

Tuesday Shares

Goodness, thank you all for the comments on Karen's gift to me :) I am still in awe :) I feel I shouldn't post anything else and let it keep "top billing" ;-)

I do have a couple of things to share-I stitched February from A Prairie Year, but didn't want to share it yesterday so I held it until today :)This is a SAL on the FGBB. I am stitching one a month :)

I also can share Isabelle's first Adopt a Stitcher package from me, as she received one yesterday and the other today-I sent them BOTH on the same day -but they arrived on different days :) I only took one photo and didn't want to spoil the other surprises for her-so I didn't want to share until she had both packages in hand.
As part of her V-day Adopt a Stitcher box, I stitched her this cute little fob :) It was such fun to make :)
Both of the pics below were taken before I got my new camera (which might I add I am having great fun learning everything about)

I am so speechless...

by the BEAUTIFUL B-day gifts I received from KarenV today. I wish you could all be here to see them in person, because my photography...or anyone's for that matter could not do these justice. Oh MY!! I feel so special/blessed to receive such beautiful gifts. They will be cherished ALWAYS (as are you my friend).
The Needlebook/fiber keeper/pocket is so beautifully stitched. WOW! The colors are wonderful and the finishing is exquisite! AS is the Tape Measure and the scissor fob! scissors included! :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
The lining fabric is so lovely with the beehives on it! Just perfect! There is a pocket there, that the fob and the tape measure were in when it arrived :)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
Close up, but still can NEVER do these justice! Aren't the colors so yummy???
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
The back has the same gorgeous fabric as the lining. The tape measure has it as well. Thank you for the fibers as well my friend...I am a fiber junkie!!!

I have sent you a personal e-mail, but I still feel I can't say thank you appropriately-if you were here though-I think you would know how I am feeling :)

My b-day is already so special and it's not even here yet :) :) :)

AND, I am never afraid to tell/show my friends how I feel....SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Much love to you my friend :)

Sorry for going on so much-I just am truly thankful, and humbled.

BUT, this time it's for me :) :) :)

An Early B-day gift sent and received :)

As most of you probably know, one of my dearest online friends is KarenV :) I sent her b-day gift early, as I wanted to make sure she received it in plenty of time for her b-day this month :) Our Birthdays are 1 day apart (how cool is that?)
She received her b-day gift already, so I can share now. I made a Quaker Sewing Case for her :) I stitched this last year for Bea in the redwork exchange and liked it so much, that I wanted to stitch one for Karen...and I will stitch it a 3rd time for myself.
I chose to stitch it in GAST Cherry Bark :)
