Easter Exchange from Dawn!

I received my Easter Exchange from Dawn today. Dawn stitched the PR Easter freebie and made it into a wallhanging with a really colorful Easter fabric. She also added tassels to each corner. The design is stitched on one of her hand dyed fabrics in a golden yellow-lovely fabric. She also sent a piece of evenweave she dyed in Royal Blue for me to stitch on. The exchange pic is taken on the piece of fabric. It is a lovely color and you did a great job with the color. Also she sent a JanLynn's Circle of Birds chart.
Thank you Dawn for everything.

Today is SAL day with Dawn on A Time for Everything. I am happy with the progress I have made on this since the initial start date. There is a lot of backsttich involved but unlike most of my projects I am doing it as I go (I usually skip around too much on projects to do the b/s as I go) and it really helps the piece take shape. A little more work on this square next go round and I will be ready to move on to Autumn.

I also received another Adopt A Stitcher package from Sylvie this week. This one included a wonderful French Cross Stitch Magazine which I have enjoyed looking through and I have fallen in love with the piece on the front! She also included a lovely cloth basket. It is very spring like and will be used. Also A Patricia Ann Design Honeybee Harmony and An April Fools gift. Thank you so much, Sylvie! I really needed the pick me up that your package gave me!

Heather I had not drawn names yet for the Grab Bags-I was going to do it on the 31st. But since you asked, I had my DD draw the names and the winners are TammyM and bunnyhead. I am familiar with bunnyhead(Cindy) but I don't think I know Tammy. Please send me your mailing info ladies. Thank you.

Thank you for the comments on AOW. I did stitch a bit more on her yesterday and finished up her wings completely. I will get back to her very soon.

Yet another one getting close...

I was going to treat myself with a quick stitch after finishing all the cross stitching on both Bird Bath and And The Animals Came-but instead I decided to keep my momentum going and pulled out Angel of Winter and worked on her. I am getting close to a finish on her as well. There is still a good bit of stitching to do-but I DO see an end in sight :)

And I had a RAK yesterday. I was surprised by this lovely BEE tape measure from Cari....isn't it just the cutest??? Thank you again so much, Cari :) I love it!!

Thank you all so much for your comments on my exchanges. As for the boxes I use-I buy the paper mache boxes and I washed it with a paint/water mixture. Some of them I line the inside with fabric-Joanne's I didn't.
As for instructions...I usually just make things on my own. I pretty much "wing-it" and to me, that's the fun part...trying to come up with finishing ideas on your own :) and getting to be creative in the process.
Thanks again :)

Have a great week all!

More exchanges

I received word that Joanne received her exchanges from me today. I was fortunate and received Joanne’s name for 2 exchanges on the US Exchange BB (The Exchange Place). I received her name for the Easter Exchange as well as the Quarterly House Themed Exchange.
For the Easter Exchange, I made her a bunny with a cross stitched apron. This one was suppose to be a male bunny and my cross stitched piece was suppose to be his pants, but the instructions had a mistake in them and it was too late when I started the finishing on this piece to stitch another piece for the pants-so I improvised and made a female bunny instead and made her a “Fancy Apron”. I love the way she turned out-I think she is simply adorable! I sent some extra’s for Joanne to enjoy.
I enjoyed VERY much stitching both of these exchanges for Joanne!

For the House Themed Exchange, I stitched Heart and Home by Dianne Williams. The exchange required a house with flowers. I finished it off as a box top. I washed the box ever so lightly with a green finish. I added our names and a ladybug to the inside lid. I sent some extra goodies with this exchange as well.

QQX9 arrived to Tanya today...

This was my first exchange on the Legacy BB and it was for the QQX9. I received Tanya's name as my partner and I chose to make a hanging pillow from the 3 choices provided for us to choose from. I enjoyed this exchange very much and I am happy to read that Tanya liked my choice for her. Click here for the details/format of the exchange.

Another one down to back stitching only...

I finished all the stitching on Bird Bath. So that's 2 now that need to be back stitched for a finish.

I hope to pull HoHRH out to stitch on for a bit this evening, after that I may celebrate having two projects so close to a finish and pick a fun/quick stitch.

Thank you all for your previous comments I really appreciate them.

Rest in Peace Bear

June 22 2001-March 19 2006.

Today has been a sad day. Our youngest Pomeranian, Bear, died of Respiratory arrest this evening. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen. He like his brother Devon, was only 4 years old. Now they can be together once again. My heart breaks.

Rest in peace sweet Bear, you will be missed.

Another one getting very close

As of today, I have finshed all the stitching on And The Animals Came. I will be thrilled to have this project finished as it has been in my WIP's since 2002. As much as I love Noah's Ark designs, I am not fond of stitching wild animals and this one just kept being put back in the WIP basket and was neglected until last year and this year-I really put an effort into since last year to get this one finished.
There is TONS of b/s in this piece though-and I am not sure when I will start on the b/s-ing. I may start today or I may stitch something else for the weekend :) Either way-it will be awhile before I post a HD, due to the b/s...but I am getting close :)

A Little bit of everything today :)

I stitched on HOHRH last night and a bit today. I really do enjoy stitching on this one and look forward to next Thursday when I pull it back out :)

I received a lovely package from dear Karen in today's mail. She sent me 3 beautiful fabrics -and I can't WAIT to put them to good use! There are 5 pictured-she sent me the 2 on the right (beehives) last month and I am REALLY excited about using those :) She also sent me a lovely Magazine from the UK, which I have enjoyed reading (well, browsing as I can't speak a word of French) through today :) Thank you so much, Karen :) You spoiled me and made my day :)

I also wanted to share Isabelle's AAS package that I sent her for March-I am using her photo's (hope that's ok Isabelle) as I did something I have never done before and sent a package off without taking a photo first :) I have so enjoyed putting things together for Isabelle and look forward to the rest of the year as her AAS sender :) I am so glad you liked this package Isabelle :)
I made her a needlebook and sent some stationary along too :)

May I present my Celtic Autumn!

Here she is in all her glory (well, framed would be in all her glory) and I must say she is just breathtaking! I enjoyed stitching her ever so much and will miss her in my weekly rotation, but now I can put another WIP in her place :) I enjoyed SAL-ing with Carol and Leslie :) I look forward to seeing your CW finish Leslie :)

Kathy-I didn't use more than one pack of any beads-I had beads left over of every color in each pack and about 50 or more of the 00221 :)

Judi-She is stitched on a Silkweaver Solo-so I have no name for you :)

When I get her framed I will see if my son will come take a good pic of her!

My apologies-I have e-mail backed up and no contact blog-wise (posting and/or commenting) for awhile-I am in the middle of some business dealings and it is taking my time during the day and when I have free time in the evenings I have been spending it on my stitching and other things that need my attention :) I appreciate those that have e-mailed me with concerns :) ALL is well, just really in the middle of something important right now :)

Take care :)I miss you all :)

Picture Perfect Weekend!!!

This weekend was awesome! I wish every weekend could be so perfect! As I said in yesterday's post the weather couldn't have been more beautiful and we took full advantage of it and spent most of yesterday in the yard.
Today was even more beautiful. It was a lovely day as we dedicated our fully renovated Sanctuary and Vestibule -we have been having morning worship in our
Family Life building for the past two months as the work in the Sanctuary was being done. Today was our first day back inside the church and it looks wonderful ! It is
great to see it updated as it had been the same since I was a child of 7 and my mom and step dad were married inside the church, my children were baptized-it was still the same -but today it is beautifully new and my best friend's son and his fiancé will be the first people to be married inside the renovated sanctuary :) (I mainly wrote this for me so that it is recorded for my memory)-sorry if it bored you all :)

I stitched on Bird Bath for awhile this weekend, in between this and that :) It has been neglected for awhile and I wanted to give it some attention.

Meagan was asleep on my bed when I took the Bird Bath pic…so I snapped a couple of pics of her :)

Thank you for your kind comments on Partridge and Pears. Yes, I will finish it as an ornie :)

I would appreciate good thoughts for my grandmother as she will have surgery on one of her hands tomorrow :)

Have a great week my friend :)

The Weather could't be more beautiful!!!

I hope you are all having a great weekend! The weather here has been awesome for the past several days. We have had to use the a/c again this week and will probably have to do so all weekend as it is suppose to be in the low 80's. Everything is starting to burst through with Spring! I have daffodils blooming everywhere-the first one opened about 2 weeks ago. I have beautiful yellowbells blooming and my bradford pears are in full bloom!! The White Iris are blooming.... Despite my allergies, this is my favorite time of year!! LOVE IT!

I stitched Partridge And Pears last night (have not stitched much this week at all due to other things that needed/required my attention) with the FGBB as part of the Ornie SAL as well as the 24 hour challenge! I really enjoyed stitching this one and I love the way it came out. I am anxious to do the finishing on it-but not sure when I will get the chance.

I promise to let you all in on it as soon as I can-good news or bad :)

My St. Patty's Day exchange from Nancy

This is so funny, as I just finshed stitching this myself just a few days ago for my Prairie Year SAL and then I receive it in an adorable tuck! It was interesting seeing it stitched in a different color than the one I stitched. She personalized the back with our initials.
She also sent me some other cool goodies!
Thank you, Nancy-you made my day

A couple of Updates

As some of you know, I haven't been feeling well. I was growing concerned as I just wasn't getting any better. SOOOOOOOO, I took myself to the doctor on Saturday and my Anemia had gotten way out of hand. After two days of taking iron, I am feeling so much better. I am not feeling exhausted as I have been feeling daily for over a month now. I and my family noticed an immediate change once I had a couple of doses of iron in me. Thank you for all your e-mail of concern-I appreciate that more than words can say-my apologies for not visiting blogs-I just didn't feel like it-it was such an effort daily to post anything at all or even stitch to have something to post about.

AND, other good news, the baby was released from the hospital yesterday and is with his grandparents. The investigation is still underway though of who abused this child. Please pray for this child and for the correct outcome in the investigation. It's a "He Said She Said" situation.

I pulled out And The Animals Came and stitched on it-having some energy back I felt like stitching again, I made some pretty good progress and I am VERY close to having backstitching only left to do.

Thanks again for your constant show of love for me-some of you are so very special.

St. Patty's Day exchange received by Laurie

My St. Patty's Day exchange arrived safely to Laurie today. I stitched HIH St. Patrick's Bird and finished it into a flatfold. I changed my mind on the finishing so many times, but finally settled on a flatfold and it turned out very nice. I am so glad you like it, Laurie. I enjoyed stitching for you.
