Beehive Purse

I have wanted to stitch this since I first saw it back in 2001. The design is by Sandy Jenkins and was originally for Needlepoint, however the magazine offered the cross stitch adaption that I am stitching. I love the colors in this and it will be such a nice little purse when completed. I haven't stitched much on it-I am having a busy weekend with preparations for a Wedding Shower tomorrow for my best friend's son and her soon to be DIL :) But I did get a nice start on the purse. I am enjoying it so far.

Today I received my Grab Bag exchange through the US Exchange group from Cathy. She really spoiled me and ended my week on the same high note it started on :) Thank you so much dear friend! I appreciate the thought you put into this exchange! I LOVE every single item!! I feel really spoiled :)

Thank you Nancy-you didn't have to send me anything-but I do so love it and I appreciate your thoughtfulness :) I am happy to have met you as well :)

I didn't want to get too far behind on the HOHRH SAL, so I pulled it out today and put about 1 1/2 hours in on it while the pups took a nap (I can't stitch on large projects when they are awake as they want to grab them-so I am stitching a lot of smaller things right now.)-I was able to get all the stitches of the house done and hope to be able to finish up the fence, birds and grass next week.

I also stitched the pieces for the Quaker Sewing Case-this is my third time to stitch it. One was an exchange and the other was a b-day gift. This one is for me :) I hope that I can find some time this weekend to put it together.

Stash shopping is good for the soul AND your health :)

Today has been a wonderful day for me-I feel better than I have in months-I took my best friend to lunch to celebrate her 45th b-day and then on to some stash shopping (I never made it to the shop 3 weeks ago to pick up my basket for the Needlework Garden and Needlebook-as I didn't feel well)-hubby thought I needed a day off from pup sitting so he watched the pups for me on his ONLY day off this week-he is such a sweetheart.
My tummy feels normal for the first time in a couple of months. I can't express how wonderful that feels-HOWEVER, first sign of stomach problems and I am off to the doctor. Thank you all for your thoughts, e-mail and prayers-I KNOW they worked!

I wanted to share my stash report as I am so happy to have all these new items and it was just such a joy to feel good and do what I do best ;)!!!
Today I picked up:
The Basket for the Olde Colonial design : A Needlework Garden and Needlebook (my LNS says these will be hard to come by as the maker of them is not going to make them any longer-there is someone else going to make them-but the price will go up and at 49.00 now, I am thankful I got mine)

AND-a beautiful wooden box that I picked up at a market outlet. I think I will use it to display some of my needlwork accessories. It is hinged and I think it will look beautiful and work wonderfully for displaying smaller items.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments-I feel bad as I haven't been able to visit blogs-I only come on the computer when the pups are asleep as it is in a room where I cannot watch them if they are awake and active (and BOY are they active !! and require supervision at all times at this time-but that will change as they grow and learn)-I have been missing all of you and again I can't thank you enough for your good thoughts for me-you're the BEST!

Quaker Swan Case #3

This is the third time I have stitched this lovely design. I stitched one for Isabelle and another for KarenV. I knew I would stitch it again for myself and finally did so today-. I know I will probably stitch it a few more times for special friends :)
I have quite the collection of stitching accessories growing. I hope to continue to add to them as I adore all the accessories and find it a great way of displaying small projects.

For the inside of my case, I wanted to use a contrasting lining fabric as well as needle felt-so I went with reds-where I used blues in the other two I made. I love the way it turned out.

Thank you all for your comments on the snip basket-again my alpologies for deleting comments from Karen, Ashleigh, Judi, Dani, Nat, artystitches, Sylvie and Bastet. I feel terrible for doing so-I thought I hit the publish button-but I must have hit the reject-my apologies to these ladies!

I love needlework accessories!

(I am so sorry-by accident I deleted the comments you all had left :( -Sorry for the need for comment moderation at this time-I hit the wrong button-my apologies)
I stitched and finished off Needlework Garden Snip Basket today. I love this little basket and design. It is a quick stitch and finishing it into the basket is fun. I had to improvise on my basket-as I stitched this one as a Christmas gift for a dear friend-I found another basket to use in my stash but I didn't have the miniature spool that is used as a closure-I added a glass heased pin in it's place! I think it turned out great!

Thank you all for your comments on the last post. You are all very kind! I DO hope that when things settle down here (the pups are just like having toddlers in our home...you would think I would be used to that with the number of dogs we have had-they keep you on your toes!! )I can visit all your blogs again. I miss you! I am still having stomach issues and a doctor visit may be in order this coming week :( :( :( :( :( :(

I am still challenged for computer time-and I am still not feeling well-as some of you know I have been having some stomach problems and this week has been a VERY rough one.
No need to post a comment if you don't want to-as I haven't had time or felt like posting/commenting on anyone's blog-I am sorry about that and I do MISS you all! Here are some things that I have stitched and/or sent and received since my last blogging update.

Saturday's Sampler-I left off the top 2 bands as I didn't care for them-this still needs a butterfly button in the band with my initials.

And, I was thrilled to learn that Cathy also had my name for the Quaker Exchange...she made me the most gorgeous pinkeep and sent some wonderful goodies. The chocolate Bees did not survive as our temps have been in the 90's last week and they were melted. I adore this exchange as Cathy already knows :) MANY thanks!

BTW- I deleted a comment .....please do not use my blog as a place to get on your "soapbox"- You are entitled to your opinions and beliefs but I didn't appreciate it and I would not do that to anyone!-get your own blog for that.

hugs to my friends...I hope to be back to normal soon!

Thanks for your concerns my friends :)

Unfortunatley, blogging is just not in the mix right now. I am doing just fine though-nothing is wrong (other than lack of time)-thank you for your e-mails :) I appreciate that :) I am updating my picture trail album and website (you can find both links in my sidebar) as I have projects to share, but other than that-not much computer time at the moment.

I have had several e-mail concerning the pups...they are doing just fine-adjusting well and we love them so much already and vise versa :) We named the Schipperke" Midnight Ramling Rambo", we call him Rambo-and the Powderpuff we named Tucker (he will have a longer name on his registration papers-we are just having difficulty deciding the other names to put with Tucker) (I need to send their paperwork off to register them)-they had a vet check first thing Monday morning as I had 24 hours to return them to the pet store if anything healthwise was wrong with them-but they both received "good health standings" from our vet.

Someone asked about the fabric for the Wabbits I stitched-sorry, I don't remember who it was right off, my apologies...but if you click on the links I provide in my posts, they will take you to a page with details about each project I stitch. Also, I plan to finish them off they way they were finished as models. I bought the ribbon to do so.

Deb, it's nice to meet you :) Thank you for visiting my blog and your nice comment :)
My graphics in my sidebar as well as the blinkies all come from FREE sites :) You can click on the bottom links of my blog in the sidebar and go to the sites I get them from.

Thanks so much for the comments on my stitching and the pups :) and thanks for your concerns :) I appreciate them :)

See you all soon :)
Happy Easter-BEE safe!

WOW! Thank you all for your comments on my latest finishes :)

I appreciate them very much :) Cindy...I do stitch fast...but I only stitched the Brittercup Design-the others were in my "needs to be finished" drawer :) Which might I add I need to get busy and replenish that drawer with pieces, as I have finished off almost all the smaller pieces over the course of a year :) I love having small stitched projects to pick from to finish as gifts for friends :)

Sylvie-the Brittercup chart has already been mailed out to someone :) Sorry about that :)

Thursday's SAL was HoHRH. I didn't make as much progress as I would have liked-but this one is such a SLOW stitch-so I am not bothered by the fact I don't have a lot to show.

Yesterday before I worked on HOHRH I stitched Wabbit from Sheepish Designs. TOO cute :)

Today I stitched Wabbit's Garden from Sheepish Designs-another cute fun stitch :)

Ohh, I received a call that my Basket for A Needlework Garden and Needlebook by Olde Colonial Deisngs had came in-so I think I may take a trip to the LNS tomorrow :)

Cindy and Tammy-your goodies from the Grab Bag fun were mailed to you today :)

Enjoy the weekend :)

Another RAK :)

I was pleasantly surprised when my mail lady knocked on my door today (yes, I am expecting a couple of exchanges, and thought that was what was arriving) and I had to sign for a registered package from dear Harsha :) It is my very first Mail Art (nope, not in an exchange-just a thoughtful gift)and I must say I love it! She also sent a needle magnet :) I love it too my friend :) Thank you so much-it's little things like this that make the stitching world a wonderful place to call home :)

I have been stitching-but I can't share as one is an exchange and another is a gift. I haven't worked on my WIP's as I wanted to spend some time on some smaller things. I will get back to the b/s-ing soon :)

Have a great week all :)
