I don't have a lot to share...I have been busy with obligation stitching so that I will be caught up for when mom has surgery. I have stitched quite a few pieces over the past couple of weeks but they have all been "exchange contenders" and I can't share them just yet.
I did put in some time on Quaker Garden yesterday/today.

I receieved a wonderful package today from CathyB-it was a total surprise, but a much welcomed one! The note included a "Thank You" for making the SBEBB and the USEBB possible. Thank you Cathy-it's nice to know the boards are appreciated. It's easy to get caught up in the "not so nice parts/people of owning a BB" that sometimes you forget there are those that are truly appreciative. I absolutely adore the chart and the finishing fabric and cannot wait to stitch all 3 pieces! Your kindness touches my heart! Thank you my friend! (proper thank you forthcoming)

Somewhere over the past several months and the time I had to take off for family issues/mom's health, BB issues and trying to make up for exchanges that people did not receive from their partners, anticipating the next step for mom, huge unexpected financial expenses and just some everyday things I have become depressed. I have just kinda retreated inside myself....I know that's not healthy and I am trying to overcome it. I am not purposely avoiding anyone-I just can't seem to make myself e-mail/post/comment. I had a suggestion from one of my dearest online friends to share my feelings/thoughts with you all and maybe it would help me....I feel kinda helpless right now and just very down- but have faith that all will pass and I will be back to my normal self (whatever that may be) very soon. I wanted to thank KarenV and Isabelle for their concern-You BOTH are very dear to me and I appreciate your contact so very much- I will be in touch very soon.

Take care and happy stitching,

RAK from a sweet friend!

I didn't receive a Summer Exchange back in July- BUT today I received a BEAUTIFUL Summer Exchange package from Myrna! She kindly stitched a summer NR for me and sent along lot's of extra goodies that are SO me! She didn't have to do this as she didn't have my name for the exchange but what a kindred soul. You are so very thoughtful Myrna and it honestly has lifted my spirits as I have been quite down this week. Thank you so much-I will never forget your generosity! (Dear Leslie offered to stitch a replacement for me as well and her thoughtfulness is much appreciated too)

Summer NR -the colors are so great on this piece and the ribbons are perfect!

Quaker Garden Update (edited for an apology)

I waited for Myrna to get her fabric before I continued with this SAL. Not a huge amount of progress since I last shared it. I kinda got bored with it and have slowed down some...but I had other pieces I needed to stitch and turned my attention to those.
Here is my progress to date. I hope I can get back to this one soon. I cannot get a true pic of the fabric color-it is the recommended Garden State Java by R&R and has a much greener tint to it than the photo shows.

Thank you all for your kind comments on my last post-I appreciate them very much!
To those that asked, the Beeskep scissor fob was given to me by dear sweet KarenV. It is among my favorite accessories.

To the members of the FGBB...it seems that the blanket e-mail that I sent out through EZboard was not received by all to let you know that it was time to renew GOLD and that I would not be doing so (however a lot of members responded to the e-mail with support/understanding, so I know it did go out-however due to some e-mail filters it may not have been received by all). The BB was not very active with only a few members that posted/participated and even then it wasn't on a regular basis. At the time I was funding 3 BB's (FGBB, SBEBB and the USEBB) and just could not see renewing GOLD for a BB that was inactive and decided in my best interest to keep the active BB's and close the FGBB. My apologies if you did not receive this message-it had been posted on the BB earlier in the year that it would only remain open until GOLD was due.

Until next time...

In between :)

I don't have a lot of internet time right now-I apologize for not visiting your blogs more often. When I am not canning I try to stitch :) It seems that everything in the garden is ready to come off at once...must be all the rain we have gotten as of late (I could do without the severe weather though- we have lost power twice in the last week-on Friday night it went out at 10:00pm- not to come back on until 5:45 am Saturday morning) I have already put up 53 quarts of tomatoes and 46 quarts of green beans :) I LOVE gardening and being able to fill my pantry with veggies from our garden :) It's a lot of work-but I have canned/preserved every year since I got married :) I learned at home from my mom and grandmother-who also still practice the art of canning/preserving :)

I stitched this freebie last night-It was a quick stitch. I used the Au Ver A Soie silk that Sylvie sent to me in my latest AAS package-along with some other great goodies :) Thank you Sylvie-the silk was just perfect for this project :)

A Needlework Garden and Needlebook finish...

I LOVE this project and enjoyed it immensely :) It turned out wonderfully. I have 3 other accessories at this time to stitch that go with it-not sure if I will stitch one of those next or work on something else.

Finishing Frenzy :)

This week has been a great week...hubby and my dad have birthday's this week...hubby's is tomorrow (4th) and dad's is Sunday (6th). Hubby has been off work all week on his long off, however he goes back tomorrow-so we have kinda celebrated his b-day all week-shopping for books which we both love to do and shopping at Home Depot...again something we both enjoy, we also shopped for a piece of furniture, but didn't find what we wanted, so that will be another adventure for another day. We also enjoyed going out to dinner a couple of times-it's been a great week. I also wasn't allowed to think of anything negative/health related or labor/work related :) :) :) LOL!
I haven't stitched a lot, but I did start the Olde Colonial A Needlework Garden and Needlebook piece. I love it so far and I always enjoy stitching accessories. It has been VERY hot here as it has been in a lot of places-it's been too hot for outdoor activity except for swimming... so during my free time I have been doing some finishing. I got quite a bit accomplished and have had the best time doing so. I will need to replenish my "needs to be finished drawer" as it is quite sparse now, compared to the start of 2006 when there was well over 100 pieces that needed to be finished off. I still have several large pieces that need to go to the framer, but my smaller pieces are just about all "finished off". WOOHOO!

Some of these will go live with my blogging friends...wonder where they will go???? :) :) :)

This is a piece I received in an "unfinished exchange" a couple of years back. I finished it off into a flat-fold! TOO darn cute :)
