Halloween Exchange received :)

I just read that Cathy received her SBEBB Halloween exchange from me :) I was beginning to worry, as I sent it out 2 day priority and it should have arrived on Thursday-but I was tracking it and it had not arrived this morning-but it arrived by this afternoon :)
I stitched the Halloween Primitive Bag for Cathy :) Thanks to KarenV for sending me the chart when she finished stitching the other two bags. I couldn't wait to stitch one of these and knew as soon as I received Cathy's name that it would be perfect for her :) I sent some other goodies too, but failed to take a pic-you will have to visit Cathy's blog to see them when she posts them :)
I LOVED stitching this for you, Cathy :)

Another AOK :) :)

This time it's from dear sweet Isabelle :) I just feel so special and don't know what I have done to deserve it, but I am not complaining and you sure did bring a smile to my face and my heart! :) Thank you so much, Isabelle :) I now have another beautiful pinkeep to add to my collection. Isn't is lovely??? You did a fantastic job with it, Isabelle :) Congratulations :) And the "Love Grows Here" piece is simply adorable! How special!
I feel VERY blessed to have such wonderfully caring and generous stitching friends. You have all touched my life in one way or another over the past 7 years and I just couldn't be more blessed :)
Here's the lovely gifties from Isabelle :)

Again, I am just blown away by the AOK ....

(I can't say RAK's as with my stitching friends they are not that rare, so I will call them AOK=Acts of Kindness) :)
Today's AOK is from dear Barbara. I checked the mailbox after arriving home from another day out with hubby and was happy to see my FOTM was here and then there was a beautiful envelope peeking out from behind the Silkweaver package with a name I recognized on it, but couldn't imagine what the contents were and to my surprise it was a gorgeous scissor pocket and fob. WOW, Barbara, you did an awesome job and I just LOVE them both! Thank you so much-it seems inadequate to say thank you, but I think you know I mean it from my heart :) I have already found a place among my huge collection of smalls to display my new pretties :) I am just so excited!!! Congratulations on a fabulous job on both pieces :) :) :) AND thank you so much for the card...AWWWW, you are just so sweet and you really made my day! MANY hugs to you :) E-mail of thanks forthcoming :)

Change of finishing plans :)

I had initially thought of finishing Autumn Row as a candle and/or basket band, but I decided on a pillow finishing. I have a buffet table that it will look really nice on along with my holiday decorations :) It was a DOOSEY to get to come out right-I played with it and played with it-being so long it really took some work to get it stuffed right and have a nice shape without having bulkiness.
I used a lovely fall print for the backing and a gold cording around the pillow :)

Ann, you asked what I do with my tails on my cording. If I cannot tuck them into the project to hide them and close the project around them...I tie mine off with thread as close to the color of the cording as I can get and cut them as close as I can to the thread without danger of cutting them too close and ravelling occur. IF it is conducive I hide the tied off ends with the bow or other decorative items.

Thanks again for all your comments :) I appreciate them so much.
Welcome and thanks to my new readers/commenters :)

My R&R is starting out REALLY nice :)

Hubby took me to lunch today and then by the shop to pick up my copy of the JCS ornie issue -they called last Tuesday to say it was in and I have been "chomping at the bit" to go pick it up!! (I must say I have already chosen 20 ornies I want to stitch from this years issue :) ) I also did some other shopping while there and let me tell you-stash is good for the soul :) :) :)

I picked up the following :)
Folk Art Sewing Roll 2006 (had this one on order for awhile now)-Hillside Samplings
Season of Plenty-LHN
Harvest Blessings-CCN
Welcome Stitching CLub part I-IV-Elizabeth's Designs (this one is a model at my LNS stitched as a bellpull and is absolutely gorgeous!-the photos on the cover do NOT do these justice)
Moon Fairy Spirit-Passione Ricamo (my DD was with me and picked this one out for me to stitch for her as well as a Mirabilia Mermaid)
Mermaid of the Pearls-Mirabilia (DD fell in love :) :) :) )
Sara Fleming 1807-Hands to Work
JCS Ornie Issue 2006
6 GAST
2 WDW

Busy, Busy, Busy :)

But in a good way :) A few of you have e-mailed me to see if things are ok....Yep, they are-it's just that time of year for me from now until the Holidays are over. We have the church bazaar we are preparing for the first Saturday of Nov (our church bazaar is huge with mom and myself doing more than half the ornaments/crafts for sale)-I am busy painting all the faces on all the ornies (and believe me it's a lot of ornaments)-We also have our Volunteer Fire Dept. BBQ this coming weekend and I am busy with ladies Auxiliary getting that ready. It will be a BUSY weekend-but all for a wonderful cause.

I have stitched/finished all 7 of my exchanges and they are ready to go out closer to their due dates. I needed to focus all my free time on getting those finished due to my time limits right now....I just can't resist exchanges, but I may have to limit myself to 1 or 2 until after Christmas :)

I did find time to stitch this cute Biscornu last night while watching some TV. I love the way it turned out. I used the DMC 115 that Nicki sent me (also used it somewhere else, but I can't share yet). I LOVE the color and will be purchasing more of it.

I also found an hour somehow Friday night to stitch on HoHRH, but have not made enough progress on house 3 to share.

Chelle and Barbara, my apologies -I didn't get your packages sent out last week. I really didn't have a free day for a trip to the P.O.-however I am off to town in about an hour to pick up supplies and I will put your packages in the mail today :)

I hope everyone is doing great! I miss reading your blogs and hearing from you all :)
Have a great week!

I have the BEST stitching friends :) :) :)

I just don't know what to say. Today I received the most beautiful surprise from sweet Nicki! I wanted to take part in the Redwork Exchange, but with everything I had going on I didn't want to overcommit, so sadly I had to let it pass me by. THEN, what do I find in my mailbox today??? A BEAUTIFUL Redwork pinkeep from Nicki!!! WOW, it just took my breath when I opened it!! This is the first stiched piece I have ever had/owned that used a monogram alphabet! It's just really gorgeous!!!!!!!! WOWOWOWOWOW!!!! She also sent along some extras to as she said "make me smile"...I wish you could see me smiling dear Nicki!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Nicki!-I will cherish it always! You are a dear friend!
I will send you a proper thank you after posting!

Isn't is beautiful?? (oooh, let me add that Nicki is the QUEEN of over one stitching! it's perfect!!!! WOW)

And look at this adorable pocket on the back and she stitched our names on a small piece and tucked it into the pocket (CLEVER)

And the extras are very nice too :) Some wonderful fabric, buttons and fibers :) YUMMY!
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
Gosh, I wish I could give you a hug, Nicki!!!!!

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments on my latest finishes :) It is such a pleasure to share with you all :)

Barbara-I will send the mag out to you next week :)

Nancy-I will send you an e-mail :)

Ruth Rachel Vendsel-I am always on the lookout for anything I can use crafting related and when I come across fabrics or anything I think I could use I pick them up and add them to my craft stash.- As for the pins I find them at Wal-Mart, Michael's, most any craft shop. I am however looking for some larger headed pins.

Thanks again dear Nicki!

Everything Autumn :)

Yesterday (Tuesday) I spent the day doing some finishing on some of my stitched projects that were in my "needs to be finished drawer" (I have REALLY put a dent in it in 2006 :) )
and picked a few projects that I want to send to some of my blogging friends :) They all are Autumn/Halloween related :)

The first one is a pinkeep using the Halloween Bird-It turned out adorable!
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
The next one is a Acorn Scissor pocket.
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Also, Share the Harvest finished into a doorknob/peg/ornament hanger (whichever way it is displayed it's just adorable!)
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
The other is a Needle/Scissor Book
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
I added pumpkins as the needlekeeps and scissor keep. The felt is not as yellow as it appears in the photo-it is actually more of a soft light orange. I need to buy either orange or black scissors to go with it.

Did I mention I love finishing??? ;) :)

I want to thank you all for your comments. I appreciate them so much :)

OOPS, almost forgot-I have an extra copy of JCS Oct. 2006-if anyone would like it :)

Becky Bee Keeper :)

I am a Bee Keeper :) You should see my collection of Bee/hive related items (stitched and non stitched-many are precious gifts to me from my dear blogging friends and others are from my family and friends and then there are those that I contribute)....so this piece fits right in with my ever growing collection :)
I got this last week and stitched it up today :) I will more than likely finish it into some kind of accessory, as I have a fondness for most any accessory :)
It was a fun stitch!

And here is Autumn Row that I stitched last month but have not shared yet-plans for finishing is most likely a basket band or candle band :)

Thanks for your comments on House 2 and QG :) I appreciate them so very much!

Jenna, I will most likely have QG framed.

****EDITED******** to answer Michelle's Question about the Candle Band.
Here is one I did for an Autumn Candle Band Exchange a few years back. I used a banded fabric and velcro on each end. Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
I don't burn the candle I received in the exchange, it smells so nice I just put it out for looks each Autumn...it has even dressed a few holiday dinner tables.
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
I also received this Candle Band and it is set in a fabric border and has ties on the back. It's on a candle now as well, and will come out for Thanksgiving :)

Have a great day and thanks so much for dropping by :)

House 2 complete :)

I pulled Houses of Hawk Run Hollow out today and finished up house 2. I don't know what it is about this piece, but it seems each block takes forever to stitch. I didn't have a great deal left on house 2, but it took several hours to finish up.
I am not sure if I will start house 3 today or not. I am rejoining Carol on the SAL and we are working on a day to stitch together.

Something I can share :)

But first, I want to thank each and everyone of you that has left a comment and that have sent e-mail. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and your show of care. I am finally feeling a lot better and I honestly feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It took a lot of prayer, understanding from my family and friends and all the support I have received and the love I am blessed to have :) I feel like myself again :) THANK YOU ALL!

I have something I can finally share-I have stitched so much in the past month for exchanges and cannot share any of those yet, but I can share Fall House that I stitched today and finished off into a snip basket. It was a quick fun stitch and even more enjoyable doing the finishing.

I am ready to get back to some of the projects I have neglected and have already e-mailed Carol about rejoining the HOHRH SAL (I have the VOHRH too that I want to start....BTW-how many WIP's is TOO MANY????)and I am hoping to start a SAL soon with Karen ...we still need to discuss what we plan to stitch-but I am looking forward to it.

Thank you all again :)
