Christmas Ornament SAL :)

This is my January ornament with the Christmas Ornament SAL. It is Christmas Motif Sampler from JBW designs. I omitted the border. I loved stitching this one and chose one of my favorite fibers, DMC 115. I finished it into a simple flat ornament :) I love it ! I will look forward to hanging this one from my tree this year )
I enjoyed knowing that others were stitching their ornaments today
I look forward to next months SAL

Karen, I am *trying* to do the finishing on as many of my projects this year as I can when I finish the stitching. Who knows how long the momentum will last, but I am taking advantage of it now :) I don’t want my “needs to be finished” drawer to become as it was for several years…running over with pieces I could have been displaying in my home-of course back then I really didn’t do any kind of finishing work as I do now :) . There are STILL many pieces in it that need to be finished off in some manner-but a lot of those are in need of framing and I try and wait on a framing special at the shop before I take them in. I can’t wait to see some of your finishing as it is always very inspiring!

I am excited as I have been working awhile now on getting a group of stitcher’s together once a month. It looks like it will finally happen and I couldn’t be more excited and ready for the first GTG. We are going to use my home each month as I have enough supplies (and the room needed) to help those that are new to stitching (there are 3 people that have never stitched before). We just need to work out which day of each month we will get together and when our very first GTG will be. Did I say I was excited???

Thank you all so much for your kind comments on all my latest projects. I so enjoy hearing from each of you…old and new readers/commenters :) I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to stop by.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Pumpkins (in January ...LOL)

I finished Pumpkins today :) I have really had a great time stitching up these LHN's :) I have one more to do.
I finished this one as a needlebook. I used a sheer ribbon for closure that has all the colors that the design has in it. I love it!

Acorns...

I started one of my new stash pieces yesterday and it stitched up really quickly (especially considering I was not paying attention and stitched the whole outside border green and closed in and had to FROG it all but the top row) -I finished it up this morning. I finished it off into a little sewing pocket this afternoon :)

Houses of Hawk Run Hollow Update...

HoHRH is back in the mix. I am SAL-ing on the third weekend of each month-however we are not devoting the entire weekend to HoHRH, just whatever day/time we want to put into it of the weekend. I worked on mine a bit today and started the third house. This is such a Sloooooooooooooooooooow stitch for me!
Sorry about the pic-can't get a good one of the fabric. It's not the color it appears here-but is the color of my previous progresses if you follow the HoHRH link at the start of this post.

Thanks for visiting and your comments :) I appreciate them.
Sending a ((((((((hug))))))))) to a special friend that needs it :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Back to A Time For Everything....

Not much to show for today's SAL. Dawn and I started this one last year before she moved and agreed to hold off on the SAL until she was situated in her new home back online. Today was our first day to pick it back up.

***Someone asked if they could have this chart when I was finished and I can't remember who it was. I thought I added a post-it with your name, but cannot locate it. Can you please let me know who it was and I will save it for you :)
Thanks so much!

Winter Quaker reached the UK :) (EDITED FOR STASH REPORT)

I have heard from Su, that she received her Winter Quaker exchange from me today.
I made a pinkeep for Su, using a design from Long Dog Sampler's Mouline Rouge. I chose this design as it reminded me of a snowflake. The theme was Blue and White for winter. I am glad you like it, Su :)

I have been stitching, but can't share as it is a gift for a dear friend. It's over one on 32ct. and as my eyes are still weak from being sick (they suffered damage the first time when I was sick for a month at the end of Dec 04-Jan 05 and the eye doctor told me they would need time to heal....now they are weak again after my sickness over the holiday. I think I will probably soon be joining the rest of my family who DO wear glasses....)and I must say the over one is a challenge for my eyes right now and going slowly, however I think I may just finish up the stitching today :)

OK, as you requested, here is what I picked up at my LNS today :) I do still have a running order though, with several more fibers and a couple of other items that I need.
12 Fibers I needed for future projects
Snaps/buttons for Autumn Snapperland Border
1 yrd. 32 ct. Pearled Barley from Lakeside Linens
The last 2 Autumn Snapperland charts
Pear Tree Inn-LHN
Moonlit Garden-Blackbird Designs
Victorian Christmas Swirls (I don't usually care for victorian-but these are gorgeous)-Milady's Needle
Enchanted Fairy-Passione Ricamo (my dd fell in love with this one)
Quaker Samplings-With My Needle
Premier Issue of at home with Needlework magazine
Cross Stitch and Needlework March 2007 magazine

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments/e-mails and visits :) I appreciate them so very much :)

Thank you all for the Welcome Back :)

You are just the BEST! :) I have visited a few blogs today and it felt GREAT! I have missed some of you so much :)

I have been trying to put some time in on my WIP's as I would REALLY love to finish a couple of them before adding any other large projects to the pile...FAMOUS LAST WORDS..huh?? :) I could technically add a new project as I finished Sunflower Romance..hehehe!!

Today I worked on Herb Window Garden. This one is quite lovely IRL-but I must say the chart leaves a lot to be desired and I find it difficult to stitch from.
I almost completed the stitching on the Peppermint square.

I am also pulling HOHRH back out and Carolyn and Carol and I are going to SAL together :) We plan to stitch the third weekend each month :)

Thanks so much again for all your lovely comments and your welcome backs :) I appreciate them very much!

hugs,
BeckySC

Stitching friends are just the best!

I have been overwhelmed by such kind e-mail. While I was away over the holiday's I received over 200 e-mail. I apologize for not responding to them sooner, but I have been trying to keep my computer time in check :) I am happy to say though that I am down to 26 unread e-mail today and I have responded to the ones that require attention-I will get to the others as soon as I can :)(that includes my dear friend Sally...Miss you and will write soon) WOW! Thank you all...so many of them were e-mail saying that I was missed in the blogging world. I miss you all too and I promise to try to get back to blogging-it just got to be such a chore for me last year as I must admit I had a heck of a year and it just took a lot out of me and put a damper on the things I enjoy-I just needed a break to let things settle down. I am feeling so much less stress right now. I still have a million and one things to worry about, but I am trying a different approach to those things and so far, so good. I would still appreciate prayers for my daughter, mother and FIL :) Thank you so much :)

OK..so here's my first post back :)
I have been getting in lot's of stitching while I have been taking a blogging break :)and have completed 7 projects so far this new year :)

To those of you that have been in contact with me-your kindness, wishes and friendships mean the world to me :) It's just overwhelming to me how much some of you care for me :) Thank you from my heart!
I look forward to visiting with you all :)There is no way I can catch up on all I missed. I am sure you all have been very busy :) I do hope to start visiting your blogs again and leaving comments :)

hugs to you all :)

My e-mail inbox runneth over...

WOW! to those of you that have e-mailed me...an it's amazing at the volume of e-mail I have received...there were many from people I don't even know that read my blog-I was overwhelmed. To answer a few questions for you....

YES, I will keep my website updated with my work :)You are welcome to visit me there anytime-you can leave a message in my guestbook or just e-mail me directly if you wish. Thanks for the inquests about keeping my site :)

Yes, I will still be spoiling people from time to time :) I have LOT's of addresses for many bloggers and you just never know what you will find in your mailbox from me on occasion :)

Yes, I am feeling better, but still have congestion in my lungs. I am on the road of recovery though-thanks for asking!

Yes, our friend passed the day before Christmas Eve and his funeral was on the 26th. It was a very sad day for MANY people as he had MANY friends!
