HOHRH progress :) and Out of the Stone Age :)

I don't usually share progress as I feel it may get a bit boring (however, I haven't had the pleasure of knowing if it does get a bit boring as I have been on a Needlework Smalls kick for over a year) and I have been posting only "finishes" for quite awhile now :)

I stayed with HoHRH for a few more days and completed House 3 and started on House 4. You can't really see how much of House 4 I have stitched as the color is not showing up that great-I have the outline of the house completed and started filling in the windows. I wanted to share as this one will probably be put back in my stitching bag for awhile :)

For those that wanted to know the details, you can find them here.

Wonderful news for me-I have gotten out of the Stone Age. We FINALLY got high speed Internet yesterday. It was not offered in our area until very recently and we have been on a waiting list for 2 months :) We finally got an appointment and they put it in yesterday and I must say....WOW!!! I have literally cut my computer time by more than half. YAY!!!!

Thank you all so much for your comments on my exchanges and WIP's. I appreciate them so much. Thanks for stopping by :)

Have a great weekend :)

Lot's to share....

My Easter exchange has reached Toni. I chose to stitch a NR for her. I had to do my own thing with the HIH Spring NR to make it Eastery for her. I love this one. I am glad you like it, Toni :) I sent along some extra's as well :)

Whether it's the WARM weather we are having....

or guilt of neglecting my WIP's, I FINALLY pulled out a WIP to work on. I decided last night to work on Herb Window Garden for a bit. I finished up the Bergamot square (or maybe I should say pane as this is a window with 9 panes) with the exception of the b/s and a few stitches that will be done later :) I love the look of the herb as well as the pot it is in :) I may try to stay with this one and stitch the next pane which will be chamomile.

S is for Spring...

And the weather here has been very Spring like. We have had a couple of cold nights, but the weather has been very Springy. Blooms and blossoms are popping out everywhere :) I love this time of year, but my allergies do not :)

Speaking of Spring, it was SAT weekend on the FGBB and I decided to stitch a couple of freebies during the SAT, which also go towards the Freebie Challenge on the FGBB of stitching 4 freebies for the month of March. I have 2 of 4 stitched. I can share one tonight as I was able to do the finishing...but the other is going to be for a tutorial and I haven't had time to do the finishing on it and all the documentation it will require :)

S is for Spring from The Prairie Schooler. I wanted to go for a simple look with this one, so I did a pinkeep finish a little different than I normally do :) No ribbons, or cording or anything fancy. I love the simplicity of this and think it turned out just great :)

The other freebie is also from the Prairie Schooler and I will share it when I get a chance to do the finishing :)

Have a great week all and thanks so much for stopping by :)

New Stash :)

My stash that I was hoping would arrive yesterday, did in fact arrive. Some of you know that I am particular about ordering online as some experiences are just not good. I DO speak from experience and for the most part I order from my local LNS, but this time around I decided to order from Amy and I am so impressd with the service I received. I ordered from Down Sunshine Lane...this was my very first ordering expereince with her and I must say it was such a pleasure to do business with her. She kept me updated and answered all my questions and BOY was the shipping fast :) Thank you so much, Amy.

Here is what I ordered and received in yesterday's mail :) I love each and every chart and cannot wait to start stitching from them...but alas...I need to order fibers for each of them, except the Alussum Scissor Pocket, but I need to order fabric for this one...LOL! Nonetheless, I am so thrilled with my new stash :)

BUZZ'N ROUND/EYEGLASS CASE-Keepsake Stitches
GARDEN PARTY for Bunnies-Keepsake Stitches
HIDDEN TREASURES NEEDLE CASE-Keepsake Stitches

And just this morning I ordered the chart and fibers from Vikki for this GORGEOUS design :)
I just love how it is finished as a pocket...
Thanks, Carissa for the heads up about this lovely new design :)

Thank you all so very much for your comments on my finishing :) I appreciate your e-mail and comments. You are all very sweet. I can't remember who asked, but I tacked the ruched ribbon onto the hearts at small intervals with a matching thread :).

To all my new readers/commenters, thank you for stopping by :) I appreciate it so much :)

Enjoy your weekend :)

A few more finishes...

AS I said in my last post, I pulled several pieces out of my "needs to be finished" drawer. I did the finishing on 3 more pieces yesterday :). (I am trying to stay busy until an order arrives for me...HOPEFULLY today. I can't wait to get it as it has so many wonderful items-I didn't want to start anything, as I want to stitch from that order :)...so I decided to do finishing for a couple of days :))

I finished Spring is in the Air into a needlebook. I added a place for scissors and under the felt to the right is a place for needles. I love how this one turned out. I have been wanting to do something with this piece for so long as I have had it stitched for several years. It is by the Trilogy and was featured in a magazine (right now I can't think of the exact issue...will edit if I remember)

Another finish is Keeping the Bees. I decided to do a fob finishing on it. It turned out great!

And the last of my finishing is SB's Love Letters. I finished it into a heart that you can hang on a peg/doorknob or any place :) I ruched a pink ribbon to go around it-the ribbon is not as "pink" as it appears here...it is more of a baby pink. I am thrilled with this one as well :)

So that's 5 pieces out of the drawer and finished off and displayed :) I am quite happy with that as I hate for pieces to be put away and never used/seen :)

Thank you all so much for your comments on Wabbit's :) I appreciate them very much :)

Until next time...

I pulled out a few items from my "needs to be finished" drawer and did the finishing on two of those last night and this morning :) I stitched these in 2006.
I enjoyed doing the finishing on these two pices :) I love how they turned out :)

Stitch'n Bee

I received this lovely chart from Amy last week as a "Thank You" for some tape measures I sent to her :) I stitched the needlebook and fob last night (I may go back and stitch the pincushion) and did the finishing on them today. I enjoyed stitching these so much and they are SO Becky :)
Thank you again, Amy :)

Inside of needlebook and back of fob (I decided to stitch a back for the fob, it was not charted that way...I added one of the little bees.) I had some blue scissors that went perfect with the fob)

Hop into Spring

I am still not feeling my best :( I don't really care to go into it here on a public blog, but this is the reason for my lack of posting/commenting. Thank you to those of you that have e-mailed me :) I sincerely appreciate your concern :)
I have been stitching away-but I can't share most of it as it is gifts and exchanges. I will share those as I can :)

I did the finishing on an Easter/Spring piece I stitched back in January. I finished it off into a flatfold. I love this one and all the specialty stitches in the bands. It was a lot of fun to stitch, and turned out really cute!
The first picture is just a little better close up and before I added the bow, which is really purple...not the blue picked up by the camera).

I also did the finishing on a piece I stitched back in 2004-I didn't have a clue how I wanted to finish it as it was so long and narrow-so I went with a Needleroll type finish and it's just too cute!

I heard that Dianne received and liked the Good Eggs box I sent to her :) Thanks for letting me know, Dianne :)

Someone asked where I got the chart for Nicki's birthday pinkeep...it is from the The Cross Stitcher's Complete Companion book.

I got some New Stash yesterday...I stitched something from it last night-but it's a gift and I can't share yet :)

Until next time....

Birthday gift for Nicki :)

Nicki tells me her birthday gift arrived :) I am so happy it made it on time...I was getting worried :) I stitched a pinkeep for Nicki and sent her Beatrix Potter's Quaker Sampler :) I am glad you like them, Nicki :)

Not much else to say...I haven't felt good all week :(

Thank you all for the comments on the Egg box. To answer your questions... I used an unfinished box I found at a hobby store and mounted it to the top, after staining it. I decided against lining it as I thought the wood was lovely. It measures 11 x 4 x 2 1/2. I used a BRAID around the piece, which I attached before mounting :)
