Tending the Blooms :)

How appropriate as many of my blooms are appearing :) I stitched this quick adorable design today. I always enjoy these little SB's. They usually stitch up really quickly and I love the specialty stitches in them. This one was a lot of fun :)
I am trying to decide how to finish it. Any suggestions?? It's about 2 x 3. (EDITED-I think I will finish it off into a fob as I did
Keeping the Bees
)

Too Enjoyable :)

When I started Quaker Sampling I last Saturday my intentions were to work it into my WIP's...but it was so much fun that I couldn't put it down :) So...5 days later it's finished :) I REALLY enjoyed stitching this one and I love the way it turned out. I love the way the DMC 115 looks on the fabric and throughout the design :)
Thanks for all your comments during my progress on this piece. I appreciate them so very much :)

Contest :)

While I was out shopping today I found 2 lovely wooden boxes w/hinges that I plan to use to create a needlework smalls sewing box. One will be for me, and the other will be for one of my blog readers :) Inside the box will be cross stitched needlework accessories. I will be going with a monochromatic (winners choice of color) color scheme. This will be a very nice set, you will not be disappointed. If you would like to have your name entered for the contest, please leave a comment here as well as email me (if you don't have my email addy, it is in my sidebar....look for the bee mail) by no later than May 1, 2007. I will draw a name and post the winner on the 2nd of May and get the details needed at that time. Your sewing box w/needlework accessories will be mailed to you no later than June 30, 2007.

Julie from the UK-you asked about the fiber I used for Katrina's Pinkeep. It is Spring Pastels Silk N'Colors and as you use only one ply, it goes a long way. One skein is more than enough :)

Thank you all so much for the comments on the Quaker projects I have in the works. I appreciate them so much. AS always thank you so much for visiting :) Please come back :)

Another new start and a progress :)

I decided Saturday morning I would start Quaker Samplings I from With My Needle and I am so glad I did as it is such a fun stitch. I am using DMC 115 on 36ct. Flax Edinburgh. I made good progress on this piece yesterday, thanks to a lovely day of outdoor stitching :)

I love Spring Time....if only my allergies did too :)

I just love this time of year, but I have really suffered lately because of my allergies. They have among other issues had me feeling really bad all week...but nonetheless I just adore Spring :)
I thought I would finish off one of my Spring pieces that I stitched many years ago. It's a piece from Marjolein Bastin from a magazine. I stitched this in a RR, and 3 other ladies stitched the other seasons. I pulled out Spring to do the finishing on today :) I decided on a needlebook finish and it's just too cute :)

Some progress made :)

I have tried to get back to my rotation...as I would really like to finish a few of my large WIP's. I must admit though a couple of them are not holding my interest at this time and I have decided to concentrate on those that are. I will also probably add a few more projects to the works or work on some smalls :)

Today I had planned on starting And They Sinned over (yes, I am restarting on a different fabric as I do not like the fabric it was being stitched on), but I decided against that for now. It will be restarted at a later date!

Here is this week's progresses :)

I stitched the July motif on a Prairie Year

I also have made progress on the SAL Karen and I started on Monday of Spring Line Up. We are stitching it over one. I will share a pic of it later, as I hope to put in a little more time on it before week's end.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on Victoria's Quaker. I really appreciate them and I am looking forward to working on it again on Sunday.

House w/Landscape exchange for Vonna (picture intense)

I was very lucky to receive Vonna's name for the House w/Landscape exchange on the SBEBB. Vonna asked that sheep be included in her landscape :) I enjoyed this exchange very much and decided to make a stitching set for Vonna :) I made a needlebook using part of a design from Folk Art Sewing Roll by Hillside Samplings it has some specialty stitches throughout. The sheep from the tape measure is from A Dianne Williams leaflet and the house for the scissor pocket from Homespun Elegance (House used from Tiny Stuff III-sheep and flower stitched in by me).
I included some extras A Sunflower Samplings kit, a country heart plaque, a kitty stamp, a journal, a clip on calendar, a piece of country print fabric, and couple of leaflets from her wishlist. I am so happy that you like your exchange, Vonna. It was a pleasure to stitch for you :)

I am still working on House 4 of HoHRH. I am not having a very good stitchy week so far...the weekend was busy and the week has proven to be just as busy.
I did do the finishing on my House exchange though :)

Thanks for your comments on HoHRH progress, I appreciate them very much and YES, I love high speed internet :)

PS Freebie

I finally got around to doing the finishing on the PS freebie I stitched last month. I finished it into a scissor pocket. I have been asked to do a finishing class for this one on the Focus On Finishing Blog. Details will be posted about the class at a later date.
I actually finished this one a little "longer" than I usually do-It can keep longer scissors or a ruler.

I should be able to share my USEBB Spring Quaker exchange very soon as it should have reached the recipient today :)
