I couldn't resist...

Folk Art Sewing Roll was sitting on my sewing table waiting for the weekend to do the finishing-but I kept looking at it and it kept calling to me so I had to do the finishing :) I truly love this piece! It's amazing! I am so pleased with the finishing on it :)

Thank you all so much for the comments on the Ruler Pocket :)

I really appreciate all the comments and email regarding the Ruler Pocket :) I enjoyed making it so much and you made it even more special with your kind comments :)
As for the questions on the scissors...that does not even begin to show you my scissor collection. I have MANY scissors :) I buy them at craft stores/my LNS and some I receive in exchanges. I received a lovely pair of ginghers(Alyssa)from Carol for my birthday. I just love scissors :) and adding to my collection.

I finished the stitching on Folk Art Sewing Roll. I hope to find time over the weekend to finish it off into the sewing roll :) I enjoyed this one very much!
BTW-the adorably perfect scissor fob you see in the pic was a gift from Vonna this week :) I need to find the perfect pair of scissors for it. Thank you dear Vonna, you are a sweetheart :)

Also one commenter said I must really like Altoids...to tell the truth, I don't like them at all but fortunately some ladies at church save their tins for me-I have had some of the tins over 5 years :)

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit :) I appreciate it so much :)

This RULES :) !!!

Sounds like some teenage jargon huh??? Actually it is something I tried over the weekend between everything else that was going on. I looked forward to Friday night and tonight to working on this project after we were finished with all we had going on here. I made a ruler pocket and it was such a fun project to do. I just love how this turned out. I will be making more of these.
The only ruler I had in the house other than my quilting rulers was an academic ruler so I used it as the model. I added a tassel for ease in pulling the ruler from the pocket. I am very happy with this project and really look forward to making others :)

Are you sick of me yet???

I hope not. I am just having TOO much fun with these tin finishes :) I made another one today. This time around I stitched part of a design from Diane Williams, Joy in The Journey. I lined it with a cute bee print, and it has a pocket for scissors.
As most of you know-I get more joy out of stitching for others than just about anything else :) :) This time around it is up for grabs for one of my blog readers :) SO, if you like beehives/bees and if you would like to have your name entered in a drawing to win this tin-please leave a comment that you want to be entered in the drawing :) :) Everyone is welcomed to enter...even if you have already won something or even if I have already stitched something for you or even if you are in another country :) No matter, you can play too :) I will have my daughter draw a name on Sunday :)
Good luck to those that enter :)

If anyone would like to have one to use in finishing, please email me and I will send you one. First come basis. I will give away 5 square and 5 round. Please let me know which you prefer when you email me-Please send your mailing address. Please note it may be a week or two before I mail them.

Thank you all so much on your comments regarding Su's gift. I can't thank you all enough-you are so very kind :)

Another Tin Finish...

I wanted to stitch something for Su. I think so much of her and her talents and just the person she is :) I know she likes tins, so I chose a tin for her. I LOVE the way this one turned out. The design is from an issue of CCS. I used the called for DMC and stitched it on 32 ct. Light Mocha. I finished the inside with a lovely springy fun print and included some buttons as well as 4 Marking Pins that I made. I hope you will be happy with the tin, Su :) I will mail it out to you soon :)

Thank you so much for the comments on the tins I bought yesterday and the sewing roll :) I appreciate your kindness and interest :)
Also thanks for your support/emails and thoughtfulness on the exchange issues. I need to clarify that 9 out of 10 of my members are just wonderful exchangers and they make my boards such a success and I would like to thank them from my heart for that :)

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

I love bargains :)

I have been feeling a little down/frustrated over a few things (mainly exchanges-then a dear friend reminded me it is not my place to clean up other people's messes and I can't make everyone happy and it's not my place to replace exchanges that others do not send and it's not fair to let others spoil the fun of the boards for me that I own/host-that i do my part-and it's up to other people to do their parts :) :) It really took those words from her to get me out of this funk I was in because of these issues-thank you so much my friend- You know who you are!!) ....so my dear hubby decided I needed a day out and took me to lunch and out for some shopping :) Isn't he a sweetie???
ANYWAY, I ran across all these lovely tins for 29 cent each (with the exception of the large one with 120 bags of tea included...it was 2 dollars :) )-and I couldn't pass them up. I can't wait to start stitching designs for them/doing the finishing on them and sending them out to my blogging friends :) Aren't they great???

I stitched some more on the Folk Art Sewing Roll last night :) I am loving this one. I have already stitched this part of the design once, for Vonna as an exchange :)
Sorry for the poor pic-too lazy to redo it outside :)

A little disappointed....

that may be a bit of an understatement. You all remember when I stitched LB's Simply Elegant Scissor Case for a friend? Well, the friend is sweet Helen (lenalou). I wanted to send her a gift, as I think the world of her and her sister Su :) I finally did the finishing on it today and I must say I was so disappointed in the finishing directions...ALSO, I realized AFTER I had put the lining in the case, that Helen's initials are backwards and upside down. Nowhere in the stitching instructions did it tell me to stitch them backwards so they would come out right-but that is my own fault for not catching the mistake before putting the lining in. There are a couple of other disappointments in this piece, but I do hope dear Helen will still like it :) I will remove your upside down/backward initials before mailing it to you on Friday, Helen-I hope you won't mind the blank spaces where they should be. If I stitch this one again, I will finish it in my own way, and not by the directions given.

Thank you all so much for your comments on the tin and the pinkeep for Amy :) I appreciate them so much. I have answered most of the questions VIA email, I think...except for the pattern-it's from PS's Garden Gloves and I used the recommended DMC :)

Busy weekend :)

I would like to wish every Mother a Happy Mother's Day :) We have an extra busy day tomorrow as my Mom and my MIL both share a birthday tomorrow :) Happy Birthday and Mother's Day to two very special ladies, I love you both dearly. :)

Today I wanted to do a Tin Finish. I have finished many tins and boxes over the past couple of years, but I think I had the most fun with this one :) I took inspiration for Su, Vonna and Eva who all have shared some gorgeous tin finishes this year :)
I stitched this Prairie Schooler design up this morning. VERY quick stitch and very enjoyable :) and I set out to do the finishing this evening :) Here are the results :)

I used the flower motif from the same design and stitched it over one to make a fob.

And, I finished off a piece I stitched awhile back into a pinkeep :) This little Bunny will hop all the way to Manning SC to live with Amy. Amy has been so good to me this year :) I hope you like it, Amy :)

I am in a "giftie" mood lately, so this will not be the last of my gifts to be sent to blogging friends :)

Enjoy your SPECIAL day all Mother's that read my blog and to those friends that aren't Mother's....you have a wonderfully special day as well :)

Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments of late :) I sure do appreciate them-you are all so very kind and make sharing such a pleasure :)

Gift for a friend :)

I stitched Flower Heart again. If you remember I stitched it for Amy for her birthday and finished it into a pinkeep. This time around I finished it into a scissor fob for a lovely friend :) I am only showing the front so as not to give the surprise away as to which friend it is for :) I had to use a daisy for the flower as I used the lace heart from the kit for Amy's :) I think the daisy looks too cute :)

I have been tagged by a couple of people-my apologies and I do not mean to offend anyone-but I don't do tags, as I did some awhile back and some of the people I chose to tag didn't appreciate being tagged, and made it known openly on their blogs, so to avoid that circumstance, I choose not to take part in tags. Sorry ladies-thanks for your understanding :)

Thank you all so much for your comments on Polly Wolly Doodle. Several people have made comments on how fast I stitch. I am a fast stitcher-those that know me, know that-but I have been having some health issues that have kept me from doing some of the other things I enjoy-so my stitching has been a real blessing :) It will slow way down, I am sure! I hope I have not bored you all with all my latest postings...I think it must be a record for me as I don't usually post daily :) Or I haven't for a long while :)

Thanks for stopping by -I so appreciate it :)

Singing Polly Wolly Doodle All The Day...

I always liked that song when I was growing up :) And I wasn't disappointed in how this design stitched up. I started this one yesterday afternoon and finished it up tonight. It was a fun, quick stitch :)

Spring Line Up

I was able to finish the stitching on Spring Line Up this morning and decided on a pinkeep finish for this one. It is absolutely adorable. The over one was perfect for this cute little design and allowed me to finish it into a pinkeep. Thanks for the SAL Karen, I really enjoyed it! Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

There is a Garden

I finished There is a Garden. I love how this piece stitched up. It was a joy to stitch :) Thanks for your comments on it while I was working on it :) It calls for two HE buttons, but I am considering leaving those off.

I hope to finish up Spring Line Up now. I know Karen is close, or perhaps even finished now :)

Thank you all so much for the comments on the Pinkeep I did for Nicki :) You are all just so sweet and I can't thank you enough for visiting my blog :)

Pinkeep Exchange for Nicki :)

Nicki received my Pinkeep exchange. I stitched the pinkeep for the VQ Quaker Sampler for Nicki. I used DMC 115 over one on 32 ct. Flax. I was thrilled to have Nicki's name and it was a pleasure to stitch for her. I sent her some extra goodies but did not take a pic of them. You can visit her blog for a much better pic of the pinkeep :) I am so happy you like it, Nicki :)

A little HE :)

I was in the mood today to stitch a Homespun Elegance design, so I started "There is a Garden". I love how this one is stitching up. The colors are wonderful in this one. I love the earth tone colors. I hope to finish it by Wednesday :)

Victoria's Quaker progress

Here is my Sunday progress on VQ. I was a little disappointed in the 2 colors used in the center motif (basic Black and Heartbreak) that I stitched this time around-the one above/diagonal left of the swan motif. It was suppose to be two-toned, but the colors are so similar you cannot tell any difference between them so the whole motif looks black. I still love this one, but if I were to stitch it again, I would not use the premium silk I am currently using.

Rainy Weather...

The rainy weather put a halt to our weekend plans as they involved outdoor activities, so I was fortunate to stay in and do some finishing and some stitching :)

This design is taken from An April Box by Cherished Stitches. I have had it stitched for quite awhile now (to answer Barbara's question) :)
Today I finished it into a needlebook/scissorkeep/threadkeep. I love the finishing fabric I used. I used a button for closure. It has a place for scissors, pin/needles and heart shaped thread rings and a pocket to catch the thread ends. It turned out nice :)
