I thought I took a pic of the whole exchange, including the extras I sent-but I cannot locate it! Hope you enjoy it, Karine :)

Autumn Harvest

I enjoyed stitching this one! It's from The Design Connection and such a cute design. I decided on a pinkeep finish for this one! I used a lovely fall leaf print for finishing and the ribbon that I received in the exchange from Karine yesterday. It matched the pumpkins perfectly! I love it!

It's been a good mail week for me :)

I received two GREAT exchanges this week. The first is from Veronica (Su and Helen's mum) for the Seasonal Exchangers group. She chose to go Halloween for the Autumn themed exchange for me and made me a really adorable Halloween pillow/ornament! I have it hanging on my wooden dowel tree with the hopes that next year it will have 11 other friends to hang around with it :)
She sent some lovely extras as well. Thank you so much, Veronica :) I love it all!

I have been wanting one of these for awhile after seeing them on a few blogs and now I have my very own :) She included some lovely extras as well. Thank you so much, Karine! I hope you receive your exchange from me soon :)

Another OLDIE...

I pulled this one from way in the bottom of my needs to be finished drawer. I stitched it in 2000. I used another large ct. fabric as I was nervous about stitching on linen and the smaller counts, so I started out with some larger counts. BOY, that seems like an eternity ago and now I find the smaller the count, the more I like it :) :) :) This is another one that I didn't like the floss coverage, and figured I would never really do anything with it. So happy I decided to finish it off!! I decided to finish it as a decoration that could be used with a stand or put on a shelf..or whatever. I love how it turned out. It's REALLY thick. I love that about this one. I used a holly print for the back and made a red fabric band to go around the outside of the piece and then added a decorative green trim and a red/green bow! It looks really nice and I am so happy to have some of my older projects finished off. (prior to 2000, I framed everything-so my needs to be finished drawer starting accumulating from 2000 on)

To answer the question of what I will do when the drawer is empty....I *HOPE* to keep on stitching BUNCHES so that at least some items accumulate to finish on those days when I get bitten by that bug :) I like to try and finish things as I stitch them these days, but I hope I can add some pieces to the drawer :)

The winners for the boxes are :)
Name drawn for Pumpkin Box-Jaunice Minor
Name drawn for Made in the USA Snowman Box- Needlearts Kelly
Please send me your mailing addresses and I will get your boxes out as soon as I can!!

Thank you so much for visiting :) I appreciate your time :)

BC Winter House Zipper Pinkeep

Oh, I just adore how this one turned out :) It looks just wonderful :) I didn't know how I felt about doing this type finishing on it due to the fabric it is stitched on-but I must say it turned out even better than I could have hoped for. I stitched this one way back in 2003...I am down to the very last projects in my needs to be finished drawer-I pulled this one and did the finishing the same day as the Pumpkin Box. I have a handful left and hope to do the finishing on them as time permits.

Part 2 of the finishing bug :)

I decided to finish another box last night :) This is Bent Creek's Made in the USA and was stitched in 2002. It made a beautiful box :) I used a lovely heart flag print for lining the inside-it worked well with the design. This one is up for grabs as well to one of my readers :) If you would like a chance to win-please just leave me a comment letting me know you want to be entered in the drawing :) I will draw a name in a few days :)

I have been bitten by the finishing bug :)

BUT, that's a GOOD thing :) I just love doing finishing work :) I have one item finished and one underway :) They are both going to be give-aways!
I stitched this piece many years ago and I didn't like it because of the large ct. fabric it is stitched on. I don't think the fibers covered well enough...however, it looks so great finished as a box!! I am happy with it :)
I gave the outside bottom of the box a washed finish, added fabric around the lip of the lid and lined the inside with great fall fabrics. It turned out just lovely :)
I am going to give this one away to one of my readers. If you would like a chance to win it-please leave a comment letting me know to enter your name. I will draw a name next week.

Enjoy the weekend :)

What a BEEutiful surprise :)

OK friends...I have to get all mushy here....
I received a BEEutiful AOK from Cari today :) She wrote it is just a little "Thank You" for all you do. I don't know what to say. It is such a joy to me to be able to touch lives through my hobby passion in whatever way I can-It's just my nature and has always been and it honestly makes me happy to do so-I love the friends I have made and hold them so close to my heart! I DO hope they all know that:) Your frienships are so real to me, whether you are near or far and whether we ever meet face to face or not! There are those out there that are not as easy to get to know as some of my dear friends-but I appreciate each of you that has touched my life whether we have become great friends or not!!!! I have always been a giver. I don't expect anything in return (other than respect/timeliness/and a sense of community on my boards-as I do towards others ) and I am just so speechless when I receive something of this nature from a fellow stitcher!!WOW!!! I am honestly blown away by this lovely pillow! Isn't is just so me??? WOW!!! I don't know what to say, Cari. Thank you seems so inadequate, but THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart :) I adore it and will cherish it! It will have a VERY special place in my home! I can't wait to show it off to some friends and family :) WOW-what a great surprise! You made my day :) I have sent you an email :) I am still trying to find out if Cari made this beauty herself :)

Thank you ALL so much for your comments on my Autumn exchange for Carolyn :) I wanted to make something she could use and display at the same time and a tray is what I came up with :) You are all very kind with your sweet words to me :) I can never thank you enough for letting me share my love of cross stitch/needlework with you all and know there are so many others out there that appreciate this fine art we create with needle and thread :) The friendships I have made through my boards and blog are PRICELESS!!! I feel so very blessed :)

Have a lovely weekend :)
Many hugs :)

Autumn Seasonal Exchange for Carolyn

This is my Autumn Exchange for Carolyn for the Seasonal exchange group. Her husband let her know she received it today but is out of town for the arrival of her first grandchild and has asked me to go ahead and share a pic of what I sent as she doesn't know when she will get to open the box :) It is a year long exchange and we send to the same person for all 4 seasons. I chose to make a tray for Carolyn. This is my first time to finish anything in this manner. My hubby helped me with the finishing, with some of the wood cutting. I REALLY like how this one turned out and will be making another for myself. I have stitched this design twice now and I think I will make mine from the same design-it just works so well. I also sent some other autumn goodies :)
Stuffed Pumpkin, Autumn Candles in lovely jars, a gorgeous autumn plate, autumn ribbons, tuck pillows, autumn stationary, and an autumn toned handbag with two autumn toned photo albums that I thought would come in handy with a new grand baby....a place to keep some of those pics :)
I hope you like it my friend :) It was a pleasure and I am looking forward to putting together your Winter exchange :) ((((big hugs to you grandma))))

And two more of my boxes I picked up this week :) These are gorgeous Halloween boxes :) I just love them!! I get my boxes at an out of the way shop...it's one of those places you never know what they will have when you go in and they never keep the same items for very long.

As for my tassels, sometimes I make my own and sometimes I use purchased one. This one was made from a wonderful thread my mom bought for me in a discontinued bin. I have made two out of it and they both turned out lovely. I like making tassels from DMC too-but they never turn out as well as these have from this thread.

Sonda-I received the freebie chart from my LNS last year :)

Sherry-I buy the JCS issues every year and would not miss an issue-not overly impressed with this one-but I had to add it to my collection :)

Thanks for visiting and your kind comments :) I appreciate them so very much :)

Autumn Quaker Exchange for Carol, received :)

I received Carol's name for the Autumn Quaker exchange on the USEBB :) I chose to stitch a motif from the BP Quaker. I chose this particular motif as it had leaves in it and I thought it worked well for the Autumn theme. I chose an autumn colored fiber and backing fabric and finished it as a pinkeep. I also stitched her a trinket box using the Quaker flower motif in an autumn fiber :) The inside is lined with the same autumn print I used for the backing on the pinkeep. I also sent her a couple of extra goodies including something from her wish list but I didn't take a pic of the extras :)
I hope you like it Carol as I had a great time stitching for you :)
