I have received some email wondering where I am....

I am sorry to be away. It seems that 2008 has not started out well for us and I was so hoping for a better year than last year...but I am THANKFUL to have ALL my family! Some of my closer online friends know (and have seen some pics of the injuries) that my husband was involved in an accident at work on Monday, January 21, 2008, where he was trapped in a machine for a total of about 25 minutes. He was trapped 10 minutes before he was found and then another 15 minutes to rescue him from the machine. He was trapped around his waist and sustained injuries to his back and abdomen, including some second degree burns. He is OK, and fortunately for us suffered no internal injuries to his liver/spleen and/or kidneys but he is not doing as well as the doctors and the rest of us had hoped and has suffered injuries to his tail bone and some nerve damage to his back that is causing lot's of pain and numbness in his legs. We are actually thankful for that as the outcome could have been much, much worse!
It seems that a few people do not understand WHY I can't be online right now-you must understand, I have a life outside of the stitching community and as much as I love all of you and my exchange groups and blogging, those things are just not my priority right now. The rescuers and doctors all say my husband is very lucky to be alive and until he is healed, I will not be as available here as some may like. Please accept my apologies for that and your understanding would be so appreciated.
I do *hope* that 2008 will get much better for our family, but right now I just feel so blessed to still have a husband!!!

Thank you so much,
BeckySC

Happy Day Needleroll

I haven't felt well the past two days, so not much online time, but I did stitch both days. I can't show the piece I finished yesterday as it is for a personal exchange I am in. Today I stitched Happy Day NR. This is the second time I have stitched this one. I stitched it last year for Myrna and knew then I had to stitch it again for myself.

We are due for another winter storm tomorrow/Sunday. They say this one will pack more punch than the one we had on Wednesday/Thursday of this week. I am keeping my loved ones (hubby and son) that have to travel to work close in prayer.

I forgot who asked-the beautiful doily is my mother's creation! She makes all sizes and designs.

Enjoy the weekend-I hope you find time to stitch!

After seeing this one stitched up by Carol...

I had to stitch it too :) What a cutie it is! I also loved Carol's choice of fabric color and went with a blue as well :)
I went with a pinkeep finish!

Thank you!!

First I would like to thank each of you that have sent personal email to me this weekend. I am overwhelmed by your email and kindness in them towards me. I am thrilled to be back and I hope circumstances allow me to continue enjoying my blog/exchange boards and all of you in the stitching community :) You are all so appreciated by me!!

I finished a pinkeep and just love it!! The design is by Diane Arthurs and I just love the colors in this one!

Please note: I am having a terrible time with some of my email-several addresses I am trying to send to and some that are sending to me are getting lost in cyber land. My ISP assures me that I have no mail that hasn't been picked up or gone out, but email are going missing!
I answer ALL email that require a reply-if you do not receive a reply-that means I did not receive your email-you should try to resend and if you still do not receive a reply-just add a comment to my blog that you have sent mail and we will go from there.

I have had numerous email about the SBEBB this weekend. I am able to run the board again and I can't thank Carol, Vonna and Cathy enough for their help. I have and DO appreciate all you did/do for me! The SBEBB will accept a few new members. I keep the board at a certain number of members and when it is full it closes to membership until the next time I do housekeeping to clean up inactive members. Current members, please let me know if you plan to stay active, if you have not done so as some of you said you were not doing exchanges anymore when I had to give the BB up and I need to hear from you. Those that are thinking of applying for membership-please be advised that the SBEBB is an INTERNATIONAL BB (you will be required to send internationally) and the exchanges are VERY active, and there is always 1 or more exchanges taking place. We have some of the most talented ladies in the stitching community and they do such lovely, lovely work on the SBEBB exchanges they send. All exchanges must be in finished form ready for the recipient to use/display/enjoy. My email is in the sidebar if you wish to receive the questionnaire for the SBEBB. (sorry, SBEBB is full-please check back again if you are interested)

Thanks so much for stopping by :) I wish you all a very nice week with some stitching time :)
hugs,

Thank you all for your kind comments and for

And this snowman mitten ornament I did the finishing on this afternoon. I think it turned out just too adorable :)
I don't remember the details on this one-I am pretty sure I got it from a magazine-or possibly one of my hardback books.

I am down to 1 piece left from my drawer that I want to finish off for the lottery-the rest of the pieces are large pieces that will require framing. I can honestly say that in the 35 years+ I have been stitching that I have never had an empty drawer with nothing needing to be finished off (that did not require being framed)-this is a first for me. Now I feel like I need to stitch, stitch, and stitch so I can fill it back up and have pieces to do finishing on when I feel like doing just finishing work-I just LOVE doing the finishing :)

I have tried to visit some blogs today and I must say everyone has been really busy while I was away. I look forward to keeping up more when I can :)

hugs and thanks again for your kindness!

Just to let you know

I will be making my blog available to all readers again, you won't have to have the extra sign-in step anymore- but I will be removing the personal post that you all read yesterday. I appreciate all the support/encouragment and kindness you all have offered me and it DOES feel better having shared my news with you.

Thanks again for everything.

Thank you for your comments on my previous post and to those that have emailed me personally. I TRULY appreciate your kindness and understanding-I made a comment to one sweet friend this morning how I wish I had let those words of kindness help me for the past 3 months-but I guess I just had to handle it in my own way at first-even if it wasn't the most healthy way. I am HAPPY to be back among you all and I feel so blessed to call you friends. THANK YOU!

Thank you for your sweet comments and emails...

I REALLY do appreciate them. I will *try* to answer some of the more personal email when I get home this afternoon. My grandmother is about the same. She is still suffering from a severe cold/flu and is STILL on meds. WE are STILL waiting for tests to be set up to determine the next steps to take as far as her heart goes. Thank you for asking. AS for my MIL-she continues to have such a difficult time walking and getting around. Her diabetes has really caused her to have very poor health over the past 6-8 months. Prayer for these two special ladies is ALWAYS so greatly appreciated.

I had 15 people express interest in my lottery (your name will be in the sidebar)...so I raised the number to 15. It is closed now and I will start posting pics of items when I have them ready. I did pull a couple from my drawer last night and did the finishing on them and will try to post them later today for you to see some of the pieces you have a chance at winning.
I must say I love them :) I have a few others I can pull and finish as well...then it will be time to start stitching other entries.

And now, a resolution....Some people have touched my heart with the kindness they have shown me with all our family has been going through. You can always tell those that are genuinely concerned and care and I can't thank them enough. I never knew I had so many people read my blog. I have been approached by so many people about my blog lately and it just blew me away to know so many people are reading it. I have decided that 2008 will be a year of stitching for others in whatever way I can-through contests like my lottery, or gifts, giveaways, AOK...and so on. AS soon as the lottery wraps up there will be something else to enter if you like. Through my stitching I can say THANK YOU to those good eggs out there.

Two people, Stephanie and Kim expressed interest in a personal exchange. We will set that up. I will email you when I return home this afternoon! Thank you so much!

Have a great day-gotta run!
hugs,
BeckySC
