Don't you just love the look of the DMC Variations in this one-I think the fiber worked well on this one giving a good range of Autumn colors :) I finished it into a round box. I think this one is going to BUZZ on out of the HIVE as well and find a new home :) I am running out of room :) LOL!

I just have to say THANK you to Andrea for your comment and Martha K for your sweet email :) They mean so much to me :)
I am sending Gasper off tomorrow to his new home...Hope you enjoy him whoever you may be.... :)

What a great finish. If you used DMC4310, then I so love this color. I use it quite often in my stitching.

Ann said...

As always, you are an inspiration! In fact, because of you I've pulled out the ornaments I've stitched over the past few years and starting this weekend I'm having 'Finishing Frenzy' where I finish at least one a week so that they will be on my tree this Christmas!

Rachel said...

Becky, that is a gorgeous way to finish that design!

I stitched that design a few years ago for my aunt along with several of the other French Country fruit designs. I had them framed and they are on the wall in her dining room.

I agree! The variegated threads are gorgeous on JBW Designs!

Whoever is lucky enough to have this treasure 'buzz' their way will enjoy it I have no doubt!!

Thanks for sharing your pics with us!

Hi Becky!
I finished this same design for the pumpkin challenge using the same thread but I finished like a cube. Turned out really cute.
The problem is that I can't upload the picture. Not on the pumpkin album, not on my blog, not on the smalls blog.
I love this design and the way you finished it. Just lovely!
I will post my pumpkin when I find out what's going on.
Love from California.

Becky, this is great! I love it!
Have you used DMC4124?
May be you have a tutorial how to make this finishing? I am especially interesting in how do you hold on the linen to the lid?

Such a beautiful finish Becky. I absolutely love the colour, it suits the design down to a tee.

Another wonderful finish Becky. Seeing yours has reminded me that I have already stitched this piece but have not finished it into anything yet. I think I will try to remedy that this weekend :-)
I really liked what you said about it being such a shame to spend all the time stitching a piece for it to then sit out of site in a box awaiting finishing. That is what I do most of the time, especially with the bigger pieces. So from now on I am going to *try* to fully finish more of the pieces I stitch and I will also be raiding my stitched pile and finishing some of those too :-)
Thank you for your inspiration x

Wow! Sooo pretty...I love the combo of the thread color & the stained box color...just right for Fall :)
Have you seen the pumpkin cross stitch project in the Oct. issue of Create & Decorate, your project reminds me alot of it. Have a great day. TTYL.

I love these French country designs too, Becky. I just kitted up the turkey last night! Great job on the finishing as usual. You are accumulating tons of awesome Fall decorations this year.

Wow - I posted a comment, and it disappeared. Dunno. What I wanted to say was I really love this piece and of course, your finishing. I also wanted to say that you have successfully enabled me. I am heading over to DSL to see what she has in JBW's. I have seen other of her designs and have thought I would like to do them, but have never taken the step. After seeing this piece, I am ready to jump off that cliff - hehehehe.

Thanks for the enabling, I think...
