This time it's one with a house. I adore any design with a house!! This was a fun stitch and another one to add to my display tree:)

The winner of the floss tag is Taylor. I have sent you an email Taylor VIA the email you sent in to add your name to the bowl. PLEASE contact me with your mailing info as soon as you can.

I spent two days stitching my Floss Thread Keeper for the exchange (though it is not due until August) as I wanted to make sure the finishing would work out:) I can't show that one for quite some time :)

Thank you so much friends for your visits. I appreciate them so very much! Please DO come again :)

Liberty

Another one for my 4th of July display :) This is my second time stitching this design. It is a Bent Creek Zipper and the first time I stitched it with the supplies provided in the kit. I LIKE this one MUCH better using 32ct fabric :) It's MUCH smaller than the first one I stitched years ago on the called for 18ct. Linen.
I had the perfect finishing fabric in my stash-it compliments the stars in the stitched design :)

Design: Liberty
Designer: Bent Creek
Fabric: 32ct. Natural
Fibers: DMC & GAST
Start Date: 6-8-2010
Finish Date: 6-8-2010

Someone asked where I get all my cute charts...some of them I have had for MANY years :) and some are OOP now. I acquired a great many charts when I worked at my LNS because of an employee discount:) Nowadays I purchase from Amy at Down Sunshine Lane and my LNS. There are lots of great charts out there-you just have to do a search for the "type" of chart you want and order it. I KNOW Amy will ship anywhere :)

MANY have asked and I have answered this before..."how do I accomplish so much stitching?" I NEVER sit idle :) I do everything within a day that needs to be done and take the best care of my family and home and YES my home is clean-I am a neat freak and things have to be in order-that's one of the reasons I have extra time-I never let things get out of order and cleaning in my home is relatively easy-I shop for groceries and do yard work and just everyday things that need doing-BUT the main thing is I never sit idle-if I am sitting down resting, I AM stitching :) I no longer have young children at home so that makes it much easier to stitch more often and my hubby is VERY supportive of my stitching and other hobbies :)
YES, I sleep :) I am a bit of a night owl though as I usually go to bed around 1am and I am up taking my dogs out by 8am :) See...no magic beans or stitchy elves in my home...just a very organized ME :)

Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and your personal email :) I appreciate them so very much :) And I love hearing from you all :)
Thanks for stopping by :) Please do come again :)

Summer ??

Not quite yet...but it sure feels like it here the past few days! It has been HOT!!!
I always have displays for each season as well as most holidays in my home. I have 4 small Christmas trees that stay out year round for some of my displays and I have baskets and boxes and just whatever else I can think of that holds my stitching displays :) I am working on my Summer/July 4th displays right now :) I started this cute design (this is my second time stitching it-the first time I finished it as a needle roll and sent it to a friend)last night and finished it up this afternoon. I made this one a hanging pillow finish and it's too cute!! The design works well for both Summer and the 4th :)

I used a CUTE fabric with watermelon seeds on it for the back :)

Notice the quilt underneath?? That was made by my great grandmother over 46 years ago. It is made from fabrics she took from clothing and scraps. It is among my MOST treasured possessions. I sure wish she were here today to "create" with me :)

Design: Summer Solstice Needle roll
Designer:Eventide
Fabric: unknown (I am trying to use up some of my scraps that are left over from previous projects)
Fibers: DMC & WDW
Date Started:6-5-2010
Date Finished: 6-6-2010

I have Happy Flag Flag Day pulled to start this evening :) Should be another FUN stitch!

Some ladies from church save me their Altoids tins...I collected a box full this morning :) I better get busy...LOL!

Thank you for visiting friends :) I appreciate your comments and personal email :) You're all so kind :) I ENJOY hearing from you :)

Have a most lovely new week :)

It's a Floss Holder Giveaway :)

Taking my inspiration from the wonderful paper tags that dear Ellen sent me last week I created this floss tag holder :) You can use it when stitching your monochromatic designs as it will hold one skein of fiber :) It's adorable and was such FUN to create -I WILL be making more of these :):)
I am giving it away to one of my readers :) I will draw a name from the bowl in a few days :) No comment is necessary to have your name added (unless you are a new reader-you can email me-email in the SIDEBAR near the top-it says contact me and it's a little BEE)-feel free to comment though if you wish as your comments are always very welcomed :)

Little Birdies :)

This morning before it got too warm out, I took my stitching outside so I could enjoy watching the birds feeding from our feeding stations-all the fledglings are out and about and it's so fun to watch them being fed and learning how to do things. Keeping with the theme of the morning I stitched up this adorable pin pillow. I took one of the birdies from the ABC a la Ferme designs by L R de rien and stitched him 3 times in 3 different colors for this ADORABLE pillow :) And I used some of that CUTE fabric I found during the Shop Hop my mom and I went to 2 years ago. TOO cute :)

Designer: L R de rien
Fabric: Unknown scrap
Fibers: DMC
Start Date: 6-4-2010
Finish Date: 6-4-2010

Sewing/stitching Accessories Giveaway

My next giveaway is for these CUTE bee sewing accessories :) I was working on this last night when we lost power for 5 hours due to severe weather. I was having the most fun putting all this together but had to stop due to TOTAL darkness...I was down in my stitching room and had to wait on hubby to come rescue me as I could not see a thing ...he came to my rescue with one of our battery operated Coleman lanterns. It looked like a train coming towards me with the bright light the lantern was putting out!! Those work SO well and put off no fumes or heat and the batteries last for 7 hours on high. Hubby was able to continue reading his book for the 5 hours the power was out-but due to the power not coming back on until 2am I had to wait until morning to finish making these accessories. :) WE are due for more bad weather today :( I hope we do not lose power again.

There is a cupcake pincushion, a pin pillow type pincushion, a tin with magnetic needle holder and a scissors pocket :) The pin pillow is stuffed with crushed walnut shells :) I will be giving this set away to one of my readers. You do not need to do anything to have your name added (UNLESS you are a new reader-you can email me and I will add your name to the bowl of names)-if you visit my blog your name is already in the bowl :) You are MORE than welcome to leave a comment if you want to-but comments are not required to be entered into the draw :)
As you know by now I am doing monthly giveaways-This will be my July Giveaway :) I will draw a name at the end of this month :) I will post the winner to my blog and ask for your mailing information. If you are not interested in this giveaway, your name will be put back into the bowl and I will draw a new name. I have had 3 giveaways where the people that won never claimed their prizes....if you do not email me within a week, I will draw a new name :)

***EDITED***The Tin has been painted flat black to match the cupcake base :)

Thank you so VERY much for your sweet visits and your LOVELY email :) I honestly can't thank you enough :) Please do come again :)

1997 PS Fairie

Hello friends :) I decided on a memo board finish for this adorable Fairie :) She will be going to live with Ellen S as her continued gifts from being adopted by me earlier this year. I do so hope you like her, Ellen :)
The Fairie is finished as a pocket on the memo board. I added some red gingham ribbon as a trim as well as a red button. I just love the way she turned out.

Designer: The Prairie Schooler
Fabric: 32ct. coffee stained
Fibers: DMC

Date Finished: 5-31-2010

Margaret (Days of a Sampler Lover) can you email me your mailing address? I want to send the Hoppity pin pillow to live with you :)

I will be offering another giveaway soon...PLEASE keep a check on my sidebar for details. If you are new to my blog and wish to have your name added to the bowl of names I will draw from please email me and let me know. My email address is on the sidebar-it's the cute little BEE

Thank you friends and readers for stopping by. I appreciate YOU much more than words can tell you :) You are all just so sweet and make it such a joy to share my stitching with you-I must admit that due to some OVERLY jealous people (which I never will understand??? How can you be jealous of a cross stitch blog or a person sharing their love of such a beautiful art and hobby??? I just don't get that as I LOVE seeing what my friends create with their needles and thread and DO NOT FIND IT A CONTEST among stitching bloggers of who can post what or how many finishes they have-that's just plain old silly/childish!!!! And how anyone could be critical of how much another person stitches, stash they obtain or what gifts they send/receive is beyond my understanding!! and I must say that your jealousy keeps you from having what I have-the BESTEST online stitching buddies you can find anywhere and the pure joy of sharing our stitching passions!!!) I was going to stop blogging...but those of you that have emailed me and chatted with me have convinced me to keep going-THANK YOU for that as I know I would miss you all terribly.
Please do come again!

MOST special mail day...

WOW, I am so speechless from the BEEutiful gift I received in today's mail from sweet Berit :) I sent her some DMC 115 and just look at this gorgeous pin pillow she stitched me with some of the 115. I honestly cried when I opened the package as her generosity means more to me than she will ever know-good friends are the BEST and can touch your heart when least expected. I have only known her a short time, but I consider her to be a DEAR friend, and just think the world of her-I hope you know that, Berit. You are VERY special to me :) Thank you so very much for this beauty and please know it will be cherished ALWAYS!!
It is so perfectly stitched and finished :) BEEutiful work, Berit! Email coming your way my friend :)

I am working on the finish on the PS Fairie (but hubby called me to help vacuume the pool, so I had to stop for awhile-boy is it HOT and steamy here today after an all day rain yesterday!!) and will share it a bit later today :)

Thank you so much for your sweet visits :) Please do come again :)
