Last finish of 2010 :) And Thank you's

I LOVED every single stitch of this one! I wanted a very simple finish for this one. I finished it as an open topped pillow with a button for closure that matches shades in the bird/berries. I used some of the finishing fabric that belonged to my Aunts mother and it worked so well with the design. The linen is not picking up the true color. I dyed it and it has some really nice subtle shades of coffee throughout.

YES, my Raggedy Ann's dress is suppose to look dingy-her blouse was coffee/tea stained.

Christmas Stash (for Berit because you asked so nice:) )

These 2 are from my DD :) I love them !!! She also gave me $$ to pick out some other designs I wanted.

And all this stashy goodness is from my dear hubby :) WOOHOO!! Lot's of BBD, LHN and Homespun Elegance :)

My mom also gave me stash but in GC form so I HAVE to go shopping...LOL!! I can't wait!!

I can't decide what to stitch...that's when you know you have too much stash :) BUT I wouldn't change a thing!!!! I love my stitching/passion more than anyone can know :) and I love walking into my stitching room and knowing I have my own little LNS :)
I think I will try to make a decision and squeeze at least one more finish in this year-I usually take my decorations down today-but DD's boyfriend is really enjoying them so I may leave them up until he leaves on the 5th of January (don't hold me to that though as I always like to get my house back in order after a month and a half of Christmasy stuff:) )

Wishing you all a great upcoming New Year :) I am looking forward to continuing our friendships and hopefully meeting some new friends as well :)
Much love and Many hugs from SC :)

December snow

The DD's BF from California thinks this is GREAT....me?? Not so much!!! Beautiful, yes, but I worry for those that have to travel in it-my hubby included. Safe travel to you all! The roads were not covered when I took this picture early this morning, but it has been steadily snowing since and I can no longer see the road in front of our house.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas :) I enjoyed it SO very much!
Take care! I plan to stay in with my Christmas stash and enjoy this COLD and snowy day (yes, still snowing heavily here)
hugs and love from Snowy SC,

Totally Blown away!!!

Ok guys...you have got to listen to me "gush" for a bit as I totally believe in letting someone that took time to send me something know that I truly appreciate their time/thoughtfulness/and effort put into any gift I receive :)
I honestly do not know what to say. The doorbell rang and it was our mail lady with an armful of packages and they were all for me from some of the SWEETEST and DEAREST ladies I know :) WOW! To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement :)
These ladies are so special to me and their friendships are enough for me but they sent LOVELY and thoughtful gifts for Christmas and I can't thank you all enough. WOW!!

From Julianne, the most gorgeous stitched tree EVER!!! I am just totally blown away by it-it's just perfect in every way!! It will always have a place of honor in my home. Thank you so very much my dear friend!!

From dear Amy-such a SPECIAL treat as she knows what a bird lover I am and I just ADORE this pillow-BEEutiful work Amy. AND those yummy fabrics and buttons! OVERWHELMED again :) Thank you so much dear friend!

From Melissa-Oh she knows me well and sent me the cutest pattern or a pumpkin doll to make and adorn my house this coming Halloween :) I just love it and it instantly made me smile when I opened it, Melissa :) Thank you so much my friend :) You're a doll!!

And last but certainly not least-one of my oldest and dearest online friends, Jan sent me all these LOVELY gingerbread items! Oh my friend I am overjoyed with your thoughtfulness and love each one and can't wait to get off here and go put them put in the house. WOW!! Thank you so much dear friend!!

I feel so blessed to call these ladies friends and even though they sent me some of the most gorgeous gifts-I would love them anyway if they never sent me a thing. I am BLESSED daily by them all :)
Emails headed your way friends :)

SILLY me fell this morning on some ice while taking my dogs out and hurt my ribs, back and hip...not gonna let it spoil my holidays though :) I would appreciate any prayers you can spare that I heal soon.

Thank you for visiting :) I appreciate your visits so much!

Gift for my mom :)

WEll...talk about waiting until the last minute and deciding at an inopportune time (while entertaining others :) )....but yesterday I decided I wanted to stitch this design for my mom :) I have loved this design from the moment I saw it and knew I would stitch it for myself or friend/family. This will work so well (the colors go with the other gifts) with the other gifts I have for my mom for Christmas -the others have nothing whatsoever to do with stitching or anything I made-but this piece will work as an accessory :):)
I finished it off on a wood piece that I had hubby cut and sand for me. I used a stain that mom will enjoy and mounted the stitched piece on the wood adding trim/pins and ribbon. I decided to compliment the DMC 115 by using a darker trim and a lighter ribbon.

Merry Christmas

Last week brought gifts from Myra and Joan in AZ :) Thank you so much ladies for thinking of me :) I just adore both gifts :)
From Joan some LOVELY Gingerbread fabric and a lovely set of gingerbread buttons that didn't make it into the picture as they were tucked away for safe travel and only after Joan mentioned them did I find them. I LOVE the fabric and buttons Joan and cannot wait to use them :) Thank you SO very much :)

And from Myra, one of her lovely pouches that has already found it's way into my pocketbook :) I just LOVE the fabric she used :) Thanks you dear Myra :)

Our celebrations start this week and we have something to go to everyday :) I am so excited and looking forward to good fellowship and YUMMY food and celebrating this glorious season!

I hope you find JOY and Blessings this week and always!
Thanks for stopping by :) I appreciate your visits so much :)

Another productive morning :)

Recently I was given a HUGE box of laces and some fabrics that belonged to my Aunt's mother. My Aunts Mother passed last year and she was a crafty lady :) I feel blessed to have some of her crafty items to use in my finishing :)And I can honestly say I will never have to buy lace again...YES it is that much lace-all sizes, colors and designs. I wanted to do something special for my Aunt and my 3 cousins...so I used some of the lace and fabrics that belonged to her to finish off these pillows. Even though she was not my grandmother-when I visited her with my cousins she ALWAYS treated me just as she did them and just like one of her own grandchildren :) I stitched the 3 for my cousins this morning and you already saw the one for my Aunt from Yesterday's post :)
I wanted to put as much of my Aunt's mother and my cousins grandmother as I could into each pillow. I used eyelet from her stash for the hanger as well as added it to the pillow. I also used fabric from her stash for finishing. These will be so well received...you would have to know my family though to know that. These will mean so very much to them. I can't wait until Wednesday evening at our Christmas GTG to give them their gifts :)

I snuck a couple more in...

I didn't think I would get much more stitching done this year as I don't want to be rude while our guests are here and do nothing but stitch all the time...but I have been able to stitch a couple small designs when I am the only one up early in the mornings :) I love those early morning alone times :)

We had a death in our family this week and the funeral was today. It was a beautiful tribute to her life that touched my heart so much. It's so difficult to lose a loved one so close to a holiday. I hope that all our family knows how much we love you and that you find comfort and strength and healing through your faith and those that surround you.

Sending all my readers love and hugs and make sure you tell someone you love them today!

Season of Love

YAY I was able to get this stitched and finished up before our guests arrive this evening :) I love the way it turned out :) I decided on a pillow finish. I know my DD will love it! This is the design my DD picked out for herself :) Notice that they both (the Winter Love she picked out for her BF) and this one have a "cute couple" in them :) Think she is trying to tell me something???

I have a folder FULL of addresses...thank you all for sending them to me-As most of you know I am not some weirdo just asking for mailing info :) I have been on the Internet involved in hosting one group or another for the past 12 years and I am well known. You can rest easy sharing your mailing info as it will only be used if I send you a gift:)
If I have your mailing info-I hope to send to MANY of you in 2011 :)I don't think I will post who I am sending each item to-I think I will let that part be a surprise when it arrives in your mailbox :) Thanks for allowing me to continue with something I am so passionate about-stitching brings me so much joy and sharing it doubles that joy :) I am so looking forward to stitching in 2011 :)

Thank you all so very much for visiting with me :) I appreciate it so much more than you can know.
See you all in January-I look FORWARD to reading your blogs again and getting back into commenting-I have missed some of you so much!! :)

Merry Christmas to you all :)

Holiday PICTURE HEAVY !!!

For Carolyn, Jane, Emilee and Joan in AZ (and a couple more I can't remember right off-but thank you all so much for emailing and your interest)who have asked about posting pics of my home for Christmas. I toned it WAY down this year ladies-those of you that have followed my blog the last 5 years will see I have only done about 1/4 of the decorating I usually do :) I usually move out everything that is everyday displays in my home and it's nothing but Christmas in every room of my home-I usually have 4-5 large trees that are themed. I didn't put up my Angel, snowman, nutcracker or all Santa large trees- this year since we are having guests for 3 weeks I just didn't do that :) BUT I am enjoying each and every display around my home :)
Here are some pics for you lovely ladies that have inquired :) :)
