January...

has been such a long month for us...Obviously January has not been a good month for our family. Sadness still fills our hearts-but as life goes and days pass we continue on as is life.
Thank you all again for your many cards, words of condolence, and mostly your prayers. My inbox is overflowing-when I signed on tonight I have 278 emails unread. I doubt I will answer them all-but PLEASE know I appreciate each one. Per requests from family members I will not talk about the death of my niece or the fire any further but do appreciate your continued prayers for our family-they are very much still needed.

It has been difficult for me to find a routine again. I know that stitching has been a saving grace so many times in my life so along with prayer each day I have tried to turn to my stitching. I have not stitched as I am accustomed to but have been glad to have the avenue to be industrious and to occupy my hands and mind.
Have Ye Any Wool I stitched this one on a larger count and over 2 so I could finish it off onto one of the cutting boards that hubby cut out for me back in the summer. It turned out very nice.

Design: Have Ye Any Wool
Designer: Country Stitches
Fabric: 32 hand dyed Vanilla by BeckySC
Fibers: DMC
Date Started: 1-18-2011
Date Finished: 1-20-2011

Winter I have not decided on a finish for this one yet, but I am thinking the fabric I used as a backdrop in the pic will serve as finishing fabric. PS are always such a joy to stitch and I love how it turned out.

Designer: The Prairie Schooler
Fabric: 32 hand dyed Vanilla by BeckySC
Fibers: DMC

And a new start Halloween Cove I started this one yesterday.... It is such a fun stitch I can hardly put it down for any length of time. I changed out the called for fabric as well as fibers. I just love how it is turning out. I plan to stay with it until finished. I shouldn't have any problem doing that as it is stitching up so quickly and I am loving it. I think the fabric makes this one AWESOME!!

Thank you for stopping by. I am behind on EVERYTHING online related as I just have not felt like being on the computer at all this month :( :( I made myself post today in the hopes of finding joy in it again.

Though I "miss my friends" this has not been a computer month for me, either. I understand exactly what you mean about computer time not being joyful sometimes.

I am SO blessed that you decided to hunker down and make up this blog so that we're able to enjoy what you're up to. PS designs are really so soothing to stitch--love it!

Also, that Halloween piece is going to be super! Love the linen.

I've been working on my own freebie's model so that I can publish it soon! I was in the home stretch when I ran out of a particular fiber. Picked up another today, but am now concerned that the difference in the dye lot won't work (I had thought it would.) I might have to make another choice, but we shall see. :D

Prayers still coming your way,
Berit

You have some really lovely finishes. The fabric for the PS stitch looks phenomenal with the piece. Just fantastic!
I finished up Halloween Cove this past fall and loved every minute I stitched on it. I also swapped out some of the floss colours. Now I'm watching out for a frame for it.

I am so glad to see you posting again with your lovely work. Your blog was one of the first that I ever visited during the pumpkin challenge last autumn. You inspire me with your creativity and your grace. I have Halloween Cove in my stash and I think I will stitch it on a similar fabric as I love yours! A new friend in Maryland, Karen K.
