Unexpected find :)

Amid my purging/organizing I found these 3 gorgeous samplers that I just fell in love with. I have more hardback books than I care to admit-I am sure some of my fellow stitchers were on the Automatics for some of the BH&G hardbacks as well as the LA hardbacks. I was for YEARS and I have quite the collection of hardback cross stitch books. To be honest I hardly ever *remember* to stitch from them-but while clearing out I found these Antique Samplers in one of those books. I just love them !! Aren't they pretty?
Christian's Sampler
This one has the family's initials under the alphabet in the original sampler-I would also include our family's initials if I were to stitch this sampler.

Mary's Sampler

Margret's Sampler

I am taking it a bit easy today as I hurt my arm yesterday picking up my little niece and my shoulder is screaming at me today so I haven't been able to stitch :( I guess I can do more organizing and clearing out :)

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by for a visit :)
hugs and love from SC :)

I LOVE those books! My grandmother volunteers in a second hand bookstore and scoops them up for me... I'm almost 100% sure I have those ones in my pile too :)

Hope your shoulder feels better quickly!!

Oh I love Mary's sampler the best! Which books are these in? I'm the same way about my hard back books. I forget I even have them sometimes. Same thing with my magazines. I should go through them and pick a few things to stitch.

Oh Becky these are gorgoeus. Would you consider selling or loaning out the books?

Wow! Great finds!!
Every once in awhile I look through my stash especially old books & magazines and find something wonderful like that. Most likely at the time I received them I wasn't into that particular style or whatever but now it is something I am into.
It is always good to look back at what you have :)
I hope your shoulder feels better! My right one has been killing me for a few months now but I am in the middle of a Fibro attack so that is why.

All three samplers are so pretty! I was doing this same thing about a month ago, and I hope I stitch the samplers I found before I forget about them again! Hope your shoulder feels as good as new very soon!

Good idea to take it easy while your shoulder heals. I once had several books, they were Christmas themed. Think I auctioned them off... cause I don't do Santa anymore. Now I need to search for some of those sampler ones, cause they are timeless and beautiful! Hugs.

Hope your shoulder feels better soon! I was at our local library a couple of nights ago and discovered that they have a stash of those golden oldie cross-stitch books!

They're all wonderful samplers Becky! I have many of those hardcover books too and I always forget about checking them for a design. Seeing these I think I ought to drag mine out!
I hope you're shoulder is feeling much better now and you're back to stitching again.

Ouch! Take care of that arm! A bit of time healing is worth gold. Isn't that the MOST wonderful thing about organizing and purging - the finds that you've 'forgotten' were there? Love to do that! You've really been on the purge lately! Oh, how I need to do that in my craft room... Hopefully coming soon. Take care and enjoy spring! Your neighbor in RH.
