I used to rotate projects Lisa...believe me I have tried it all and I find that what works best for me is to stitch on what I am enjoying :) If it becomes a chore I put it away for awhile and pick up something else :) Cross stitch is suppose to be enjoyable and not stressful so I say go with whatever works best for YOU :)
I enjoy all size projects. The last 5 years I have devoted more time to SMALLS as I enjoy doing finishing work so much and I participated in MANY exchanges that required stitching smalls-but I stitch all sizes-you can see them in my Cross Stitch Album. I have stitched PV's, Mirabilia's, L&L...and so on :) And I an getting back to some larger pieces this year and enjoying them very much! :)
In NO particular order these are my current WIP's (minus Feather Your Nest)

OOO that's a nice list of Wips :) and your'e right in it is supposed to be enjoyable and to put something down before it becomes a chore (unless deadline .lol) I've got the Heirloom Christmas in my to do list :) love mouse xxx
It doesn't surprise me that you have only 4 WIP at the rate you stitch. :) I remember when you started Flower Power - I instantly fell in love with it and it now sits in my to-do pile. You inspire me in many ways!
You have some gorgeous wip's. I can't wait to see your progress!
It's great to see that you have some wips! I especially love Heirloom Christmas, I have this in my stash but am too scared to start it lol.
WOW! I just looked at the pictures of your craft room. Looks like you could stitch for years without ever going shopping. I think I need to re-look at my craft room.
Teresa's Heartfelt Stitches
It's scary how many of those I have in my stash! They all look beautiful and I know you will have them done some day soon.
We must have similar tastes! Of your four WIPs, I have Heirloom Christmas Sampler as WIP also (although I don't have as much stitched as you do) and I have Flower Power and Herb Window Garden all kitted up and ready to start as soon as I finish up a few more things!
Your absolutely right about XS should be enjoyable. I only have 4 WIPS at this point. And 3 of them are for the reason you stated about them being large and cumbersome to handle. The 4th one I messed up somewhere and just had to put it down because I couldn't find out where I made the mistake. One day I will pick it back up and figure out where I went wrong :)
Flower power is one I would LOVE to do someday!
Hugs
I love your WIPs! I've never seen that SB one before -- I especially like that one.
Love the Herb Window Garden!!! Beautiful WIP's!
Gosh, everything is so beautiful! If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Shepherd's Bush one, only because I have that one in my stash as well, lol! You need to get crackin' on yours so I can be inspired ;-)
Yes, yes! Stitching is all about being enjoyed! When it's a chore, who needs it?!
xoxo
I'd like to get back into my UFO's too, I need to do and revisit the Friday night stitch in.
They are beautiful, especially that Flower Power! Wow! I will tell you that selfishly it encourages me that you have projects that you have had a long time and that you have to lay some down when they aren't enjoyable. I do, too! From reading your blog, I just thought you were the BOMB on finishing! And you are, but I realized that I need to choose smaller projects if I wanted to FINISH something more quickly!
I so enjoy your blog. It has become part of my daily routine. Blessings!
I love Shepherd's Bush (I've got some to be done ! a big stash in fact !) and I didn't know Saint Peter's Fair. I'm please to discover it.
Take care

I am impressed that you only have 4 WIP's. I am a quilter and stitcher. My small quilt group had agreed to complete their quilt WIP's in 2011. I have 13 quilt related WIP's. Only two current, take alongs, stitchery projects.
I am determined to get all of the WIP's completed in 2011.
I like all your WIPs! especially Herb Window Garden:))) Antonina
I love all your WIP's but the Christmas one is to die for!
Everything is beautiful and so varied! I'm especially in awe of the project that uses 1 yard of fabric! That is going to be an amazing finished piece! Thank you for sharing.
God bless you - Julie
Enjoy stitching St Peters Fair, I remember it as such a fun stitch. I'm currently stitching Life and Liberty and seeing yours has been an inspiration, but I cannot believe you stitched it so quickly. Your work is just lovely.
