don't we love our scissors?? Iknow I sure do!

Some of you know I also collect sewing baskets. I was thrilled to find this one to add to my collection.

I also plan to make this into a sewing box.

I LOVE anything with an alphabet on it-this was a great find for me!

LAST but certainly not least...look at this sampler I rescued from one of the consignment shops..WOW!! Is it not amazing? I cannot believe it was in the consignment shop-I just could NOT leave it there.

My best friend celebrated her 50th birthday today and had a huge party. The food was so delicious and the decorations were amazing and the entertainment was wonderful! We just had a great time. She is a 3 time cancer survivor and this birthday meant the world to her and her family! Happy Birthday my friend! You know I LOVES you!
We also had a cookout at my SIL's after leaving the birthday party. We had the best time playing beanbag toss and horseshoes and another game I had never played and can't remember the name of it right off-but we laughed so much and it was really nice to see my SIL's, BIL and hubby have a little fun. Unfortunately my FIL was not up to coming. He is just having a terrible time and he is in really bad shape y'all. It's hard to believe that only a month and 6 days ago we didn't even know anything was wrong with him...his back was hurting is what sent him to the doctor-it spiraled from that day on and he is in such bad shape:( I know many of you know the heartbreak of cancer and it truly is breaking my heart to see this dear man go through this. My BIL and his family leave tomorrow to go back home. I sure hope we have more chances to get together and that my FIL will be able to share in it.
Thank you all for visiting!
Have a Blessed Easter.
hugs and love from SC,
BeckySC

50 Bees Abuzz:
I would love a frog as I cannot find one where I live.
I'm so glad you and your family had such a good day hun; I know they are few and far between. I've been thru what your family is going thru and it's so hard to see someone so dear to you in such pain. You hit the "frog jackpot" today. LOL I have 2 and am always looking for more. I haven't found any colour ones yet. Hope you have a great Easter.
Hugs, Shar
What a wonderful find for you. I have never heard of these glass frogs - not seen them here in the UK. Enjoy all your finds. The stitched piece you found is just amazing - I too don't think I would have been able to leave it there either. Glad you all had such a lovely day. Continue to think of you and your family xx
Wow Becky, I love all this glass frog. In Spain is difficult to find them. So I would love to enter in your giveaway.
Hugs
Froggs are so nice, I've never seen any at my place...
Happy Easter to you and your family!!
Hugs,
Nina
Some great finds, Becky, I too wouldn't of left the sampler, it is amazing!!
Glad you had a lovely time at your friends birthday party, and sounds like you had great fun with your lovely family.
Love and best wishes to you all this Easter, and sending lots of love to your dear FIL xx

What a lot of wonderful finds! So many flower frogs! Love those sewing boxes too. I'm sorry to hear your FIL wasn't able to join the cookout at your SIL's. It must be so hard for you all to watch him deteriorate. Hugs to you. Continued prayers.
Wow, those are some fantastic finds from your day of antiquing!
I can't believe anyone would leave that sampler there either. I'm glad it found a good home with you.
It must be very difficult for all of you to watch your FIL suffer. I'll continue to keep all of you in my prayers. I hope that you are able to spend an enjoyable Easter day together.
I'm so happy to hear you and your family had such a nice day yesterday. It's so important when you're burdened with care for your loved one, to find time to cotinue to enjoy each other.
Funny thing, it was a fun day for us too! Unexpected, we had no plans, but the rain kept hubby from working, so we got up early and took a fun road trip. I smiled all day...just a great day...rain and all!
I have lost a grandma, mother, anut, sweet neighbor, and 41 year old brother to this disease. I treasure the memories of the good days they had, and how we made the most of the time.
This is the hope we have that no other god provided, the One true God is Risen! Only He could die for our sins, only He did. And if we believe, we too will rise and be joined again with Hiim and the ones we've loved in this life. What a wonderful promise to cling to!
Happy Easter everyone!
So nice to hear that you and your family had a nice day. You've had such a difficult year. You deserve it! And what amazing finds!
I can relate to what you're going through. It's so hard to see this happening to a loved one.Try to enjoy each day as it comes (easier said than done sometimes!) Happy Easter to you! Nancy in NY
Sounds like it was a wonderful day. I am glad you really enjoyed yourself. Neat frogs and some rather unusual and uncommon ones.
Well, all I can say about that sampler is WOW. What a find. It makes me want to know the story behind why that was placed in the consignment shop.
Have a happy and blessed Easter.... it's off to church for me.
Wow - you did find frogs! Nah, you should keep them all and drive DH crazy as you get more scissors! lol
Glad you had a good time at SIL's house. So sorry about your FIL's health.
Happy Easter to you and yours.
I regularly haunt antique and consignment stores, but I am yet to find a frog, so your treasure trove is wonderful.
I can't wait to see your "new" sewing basket - I used to have a large one as a young adult, but then I switched to other containers - a "real" sewing basket has so much charm.
I'm glad that you were able to enjoy your day yesterday, even with your FIL's health still on your mind.
Congratulations to your friend on reaching her 50th birthday after having survived 3 rounds of cancer - I consider myself so blessed - I will be 50 this year, and have never suffered any kind of illness (other than the typical childhood ones). Reading about your family makes me realize how blessed my family is.
Happy Easter!
So glad you had such a fun day! You had such great finds, especially that sampler! Glad you are giving it a loving home.
Time spent with family is precious! Keep those memories of togetherness.
Happy Easter!
Wow! You did hit the jackpot. I am so happy to hear you managed to have some "fun" time with your family. Keeping you and your FIL in my thoughts and prayers.
Becky, what great finds from your thrift sale shopping! Don't you just love finding a new bargain??
Also, what a find, the stitched Piece??!! Too bad it ended up in a thrift shop. But, glad you found it and gave it a home. :)
Happy Easter.
WOW What lucky finds. I have been looking for a frog.
I just love the one basket with blue flowers too.
Prayers continued....
(((HUGS)))
Great idea to store scissors in the frogs! I hadn't heard that before. What a beautiful sampler. I'm glad that it went to someone who will cherish it! ~Roberta
Becky I am so happy you were able to get together with family and have some fun!!! You really hit the jackpot with all those flower frogs. I have been looking for one for awhile and have not be able to find any. You are so lucky.. Have a blessed Easter with your family. I hope your FIL has a good day with less pain. It is so sad to see someone suffer... Pat
WOW!!! What wonderful things you found!!!! Those are the best kind of "frogs" to find!!!
And the sampler too!!!
Best Wishes to your friend who is the cancer survivor!!!
Have a blessed Easter!
Oh my gosh, did you hit the mother lode on flower frogs!! What a haul!!! I see a few of the ones that I have in my collection. You can never have enough frogs - but then you have to fill them right? But it gives you the chance to collect a lot of fun scissors!
Love your sewing baskets too! And that sampler - so glad that someone found it that appreciates them. It now has a good home!
It's a bit sad to think that sampler was stitched by someone probably hoping her family would keep it.I hope mine stay with my children! The flower frogs are wonderful. Enjoy the day.
Becky,
A very Happy Easter to you, and all of yur family.
Blessings and prayers to you and your family this Easter.
Have a wonderful Blessed Easter!!!

I'm so glad you had such a wonderful day with your family :-))
Happy Easter Becky!!!
What a wonderful haul! I especially love all those frogs!
Glad that you had a wonderful time with your family.
Hugs and take care,
I am so glad that you had a wonderful day. You so deserve it. I can not believe how everyone can find those frogs. I have looked and no such luck. But I will find one this summer.
WOW, I cant believe you found all those frogs on the one day, I live in the Antique shop district of my town and I can never find one. I have even been trying to find one on Ebay in my country without any luck soo far.
Your other finds are lovely too especially that gorgeous sampler you saved, what a beauty!!
Happy Easter dear friend.
Hugs

You found some wonderful items on your shopping spree! I'm so glad you got to relax and have some fun this weekend. It is too bad that your FIL wasn't up to it. I hope his treatments help him. Hope you had a special Easter with your family.
Those flower frogs look awesome! So does the sewing basket, sewing box-to-be and everything. That is indeed a gorgeous sampler. Don't worry about the giveaways. Family is always more important. Please do take care.
Hugs,
Veronica.
I'm so glad to hear you've been enjoying quality time with your family Becky, it sounds like you had a blast! Wow, so many flower frogs, you did certainly discover some great finds. Happy stitching to you and best wishes.
So glad you had a chance to have some fun! Your "finds" are great especially the sampler (I can't imagine giving that away - so beautiful!) Enjoy the time you have with your FIL you remain in my prayers. Rose
What wonderful finds Becky!
I will admit when I first saw the title of your post "An abundance of frogs" I thought Oh No!! either she had a bunch of boo boo's on a piece she was working on OR you had some creepy sci-fi experience and were over run with frogs at your house! LOL Whew! I am so glad it was neither LOL
Glad to hear you had a good time with family this weekend. With all that is going on it is good to relax a little and enjoy family time. I have unfortunately been where your at more than once :(
Congratulations & Happy Birthday to your friend!! That is wonderful that she is celebrating her 50th!! Hugs to her too!
HUGS
WOW! Love all your frogs you found:)))) It looks like you had a wonderful day out thrifting!
I'm so glad you had an enjoyable time with your family. Sorry your FIL wasn't up to coming.
Congratulations to your BF for being a 3 time cancer survivor and having a fantastic 50th Birthday Party.
HUGS to you.
I am SO glad you got to spend the day doing something you enjoy. We all need time to relax and enjoy ourselves, no matter what's going on, and especially when there is so much stress in our lives. Please make sure you carve out time again to do this because it sounds like you had a really great time.
Of course who wouldn't?? What fantastic finds! And even a sampler. So glad you were there to rescue it! I don't always leave a note but I want you to know that you and your family are in my prayers. Hope you have a blessed Easter.
What a nice bunch of glass frogs. I have one but I have no idea where I got it from. I love the pink and didn't know they made them. So happy you saved the sampler. Your sewing boxes are cool too. Nice sleuthing. Hope your family had a great Easter and prayers to you and yours.
It is so hard to watch a loved one go thru these huge changes and the pain that comes with them. My grandfather battles cancer and now alzheimers... and it is just so hard to remember what holidays use to be and what they are now... it is sad. I wish you luck and will continue to pray for you!
You hit Frog Pay dirt!!! Wow... This is awesome. I am NEVER lucky like that. I have yet to find a color one... and the only one piece frog I have found was WAY WAY WAY out of my price range. I have found several of just the small frog units... flat and clear... and have been tickled to find them... but his is so Awesome to see... What fun I bet you had!
Have a great week Becky! Take care... and hang in there!
I can't believe you found that many flower frogs! I only have one because I can't seem to find them at a price I'm willing to pay - or they are full of chips and still over-priced!
Glad you had a nice weekend.
Hi.. I love reading your blogs.
Dear Becky,
I'm so glad to still see your blog entries from time to time. After reading this entry and the comments I'm still trying to work out what a glass frog actually is. Maybe my brain is not working too well just like my injured ankles.
I have a sewing basket almost exactly like the one with the blue and cream fabric.Mine has the blue floral with cream background on the top and cream satin on the inside.I wonder how old yours is. I think mine is quite old . The fabric is quite old.
I accidentally found your blog and love it. You have done some wonderful work but I love the sampler that you rescued from the consignment shops :-)
Who would want to give this away???
beautiful
