Thank you friends

for your sweet comments on my bunny punch needle finish :) I appreciate them so much!

We had such a lovely day here today-warm weather and sunshine :) I was able to take some needlework on the deck and enjoy the day :) It was so relaxing and fabulous!!
I stitched this adorable alphabet in DMC 115 and 3371. I just love how it turned out. I finished it into a pillow that can hang (yes, I have a thing for pillows I can hang from pegs or doorknobs or other places in my home)where ever I fancy it :)
I used some more of the fabric from my Aunts mother (I will surely miss it when I use it up)as well as some of the lace from her mother.

Someone commented that I get a lot done. It's true-I do. I am a very "industrious" person. I stay busy and cannot just sit around doing nothing-I was that way even when I worked outside the home. If I am relaxing I have something in my hands to work on. I have always been that way-I owe it to my mother as I was raised to always be productive and turn hands and heart to work and prayer. Thanks Mom :) !!

Thank you for visiting :) I hope you know how much I appreciate it :) Please do come again :)

I'm in love....

I think I will be doing about as much punch needle as I do cross stitch. I am totally in love with it. This turned out better than I had envisioned. It's just adorable :)
Thank you all for the names suggested :) I will put Everyone that suggested a name into a drawing for a chart. I will post more about that later :)
For the finish I used some of the fabric from my Aunts mother-it looks amazing with this. I finished it off into a pillow that can be hung from a peg or doorknob or anywhere really. I fringed the top and used large buttons and brown/white gingham ribbon for hanging and the pillow is tied closed with the gingham bow. Isn't it just adorable? I love it!!
Here he is among the honeysuckle which will bloom before we know it :)

Thank you all so much for all your wonderful comments and emails :)
It's always such a pleasure to share with you all :)

BEEutiful Birthday gift received

Today brought a birthday gift from one of my dearest friends. Sweet Julianne made me the most gorgeous thread pallet. It is beautifully stitched and finished. I will cherish it always my friend :) Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And another gift arrived as well. My sweet daughter ordered these two wonderful charts to go with the other gift she gave me and they arrived today :)

And I started another punch needle. This is my progress. It is being worked in variegated fibers-you can't tell here-but hopefully when I am finished I can get a good picture of it. When I finish the design, I want to finish it off as a pillow.
I am hoping soon I can get some REAL punch needle kits.

Thank you so much for visiting. Please do come again.
Happy Weekend!!

What sweet friends I have :)

I was so touched by the wonderful and thoughtful gifts I have received for my birthday.
Yep, I have a birthday this week :) Tomorrow (18th) is my birthday and Saturday is my DD's :) I'm old...LOL! Many of you know how old I am and last year at this time I was feeling MUCH older than I am-BUT thankfully this year I feel much younger, thanks to my doctor and some exercises and supplements that are working wonders for my joints/muscles :) I don't hurt as I used to. I have felt like a miracle happened back in Novemeber of last year when everything came together for me and I no longer ached and had trouble getting around. I am able to do things I have not been able to do or enjoy in years-it truly feels like a miracle to me :) So as I turn 47 tomorrow I feel blessed in my life though things have started out rough this new year and we have felt loss already and I am so worried about my parents. I hold near and dear all that life offers me and God Blesses me with- ESPECIALLY my family and friends. And I look for ways I can do more in my life, and give back for all the many blessing I receive.

Dear sweet Brenda, who I am so blessed to call friend gifted me with a very generous GC from DSL :)
I have a few friends that I treasure so much more than they can ever imagine and Brenda is definitely one of them :)
Thank you so much my dear friend-I hope you know just how much your friendship means to me and how very blessed I feel to call you friend!

Sweet, sweet Amy sent me these wonderful gifts. I just adore the fibers, aren't they just yummy looking?? And the lovely fabric and the cutest kit from SB :) Thank you again dear Amy-you are a treasure and such a sweetheart! I am blessed to call you friend as well :)

And from one of my dearest friends Marcene I received this absolutely gorgeous and beautifully hand sewn and quilted Dresden Plate quilt. I was totally overwhelmed when she came by tonight with this amazing gift. WOW, I certainly will cherish it forever as I do her friendship. I am so sad as she will be moving away very soon to be near her children and grandchildren. I am so happy that she will get to spend time with them BUT I will miss her and our lunch dates and GTG's so much! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you dear friend and will remember you each time I look at my quilt. And do you know what my sweet friend said when she gave me this quilt...there is another one in your future. How LUCKY am I ???? I look forward to using this on my bed...that was another thing she said I better do-USE it :) I promise I will put it on the bed this weekend!

I am still working on Emma Rose, but due to some other things going on I have not had much time at all to stitch the past 2 days and this weekend will be a busy one for our family-MAYBE you can look for a finish next week some time :)

Please keep my dad in your thoughts and prayers as he has a biopsy on Monday morning. It's all VERY unsettling and scary for us-but we are staying positive and keeping our spirits up!

Thank you all so much for your sweet visits :)

Emma Rose Beginnings :)

I started Emma Rose this morning and I am loving it so much. I like that Jan tells us on the chart to personalize it to reflect someone in our family that we love and would like to remember. As I have been stitching on it today I have fondly been remembering my great grandmother Ella. She was such a special lady and she is very much missed. I think I will dedicate this one to her and let my grandmother display it-then pass it to my mom and then back to me. My great grandmother Ella was definitely the family Matriarch and she did it all...she had to haul water from a well, (we still drank from a tin ladle when we visited with her as kids) feed her 6 children (she lost her youngest to Scarlett fever) from the crops she grew and tended along side my great grandfather. She made hand sewn quilts(from worn out clothes and other scraps of material) with so much love and I am the proud owner of 2 of those quilts. AND folks...she made the worlds best jelly rolls-YUMMY! They were absolutely delicious and I haven't had any come close since. She never complained and I mean this as I know my own name-she NEVER had an unkind word for anyone. YES, I am so proud to be stitching this lovely design in remembrance of her. And here are my beginnings :) Thank you again Jan for such a lovely design that is going to mean so much to my family.

My next start....

Tomorrow I plan to start Emma Rose Friendship by the lovely and talented Jan of Tree of Life Samplings. Jan is one of my oldest and dearest online friends and I am SO happy that she started designing. It was a dream of hers for a long time and BOY has she created some wonderful designs. I am SO happy to start my first BUT definitely not my last "Jan" design :) If you have not visited with her-please do as you will NOT be disappointed :) She is such a sweetheart :)
I think this is another design that will offer me much joy and calmness as I stitch it. Stitching has really been a saving grace for me these last weeks :) I am looking forward to putting in the first stitch tomorrow :)

Happy weekend-I hope you find needle in hand :)
Thanks for stopping by :) Please do come again soon!

It Takes A Village....

That is what I am reminded of when I look at this completed sampler. I can see everyone coming together to build all the houses and have barn raising's and planting those garden plots to share among everyone in the community and raising children in all the houses. AND it felt like we all built the houses and planted the gardens on this piece from all the encouragement you gave me while stitching it-it was TRULY a joy to stitch!! I can't thank my dear friend enough for gifting me with this wonderful chart! I am always overwhelmed by your generosity and you must KNOW the absolute JOY I found in this design and at a time I needed it most!!
