Her doctor just talked to us and said she did really well. They think they were able to remove all the cancer.. They were able to save her kidney with minimal bleeding as well. All very good news. We'll know more in a few days. Her doctor even said she may only have to stay 3 days in the hospital instead of the 4 or 5 they thought before surgery.
I am anxiously waiting to see her.

Great news! Did she have kidney cancer? My dad had that and had a kidney removed....17 years ago! He is going to be 80 this year and is doing great so hope that thought helps you!

I'm just now reading your blog and sorry to hear your mom had to have surgery. I'm glad she is doing so well. My mom had kidney cancer, but had the kidney removed. This was about four years ago. This summer they found she had breast cancer and she had a partial mastectomy and radiation. She is doing very good for her age. She turns 85 this May. She is such a tough lady and I'm so proud of her.
Hope you mom continues to do well.
