The Busy Needle

I did the finishing on The Busy Needle today as I wanted to mail it out tomorrow too. I decided on a pinkeep finish. I hope the recipient will be pleased :) It's just adorable. I used off white trim, black/white gingham ribbon and beeskep colored glass headed pins for finishing.

The Busy Needle
Designer: Little House Needleworks
Fabric: 32ct. Natural
Fibers: CC
Date Started: 2-22-2012
Date Finished: 2-23-2012

I had a note from the sweetest lady that asked me how I can give my cross stitch away as she could not bring herself to do so. And how do I continue to give when I have been hurt by peoples actions. I am a giver-plain and simple. I always have been-even growing up. It brings me MORE joy to give than it does to receive and if I touch just one life by giving and it allows that person to know someone cares and maybe to feel a little special and lets them know there is INDEED kindness in the world-well that means so much to me personally and brings joy into my life that is beyond measure. Even when people criticize, or worry about what they will receive in return for giving or try to tell others how to manage their lives or make snarky remarks on and off blogs and VIA emails or never say thank you or you're welcome-though it hurts me as I have a gentle spirit(as do many of my bloggy friends)- I pray for those people (God cares more about your character than your comfort)and I remove myself from those type people.
So, Lori, I guess you can say it's in my nature to give and forgive :) ((hugs to you))

Thank you for stopping by :) I appreciate your sweet visits. Please come again!
Have a great start to the new week!
hugs and love from SC,
BeckySC

EXACTLY Becky! I DO give away cross stitch, but ONLY to people I know will love and take care of it. I once gifted an afghan only to find their dog sleeping on it.
Oh Well. For every person who doesn't respect the gift, you will find two who DO. So keep giving!

What a beautiful finish and what a lovely, generous, giving soul you are.
I bought my first Little House Needlworks charts a few days ago. I have so admired your work from their charts I just couldn't resist any longer. I have done the "This above all..." Shakesperian quote, simply because it is one of my favourite sayings. Thoroughly enjoyed doing it (not exactly as chart, used what I "had in") I'm not going to frame it but make up my own "finish" to display it.
Have a lovely week and I look forward to seeing your next wonderful creation.

lovely trimmings on the busy needle Becky. I'm glad that you continue to exhibit your kind and generous spirit and stay true to yourself despite the nasty commenters - it is a testament to your strength and makes your blog an inspiring place to be. Besides, I think for many of us stitchers if we never gave any of our work away our houses would be swamped! I'd much rather know a piece was hanging on the wall in someone else house than languishing in a draw at mine!

God bless and have a great week,
Sarah

First off, lovely finish yet again Becky!! That wooden bee above the busy needle bee is SWEEETT!!! I love how he's holding a hoe ready to do some gardening!!!

Second, it's Forgiveness Sunday today and I like what you said that it is your nature to give and forgive. So true for me as well. I love making gifts for my friends (just not that fast at it yet!) and enjoy the responses people have and the joy that small handmade treasure it brings to them. I'm surprised people can be so picky and curmudgeonly over receiving or not receiving something. I just pray for them too.

That is a lovely pinkeep. I'm sure whoever receives it will enjoy it. I love the colors you chose, it reminds me of the spring season.

Have the robins visited you yet? They have started to appear in groups in the yards in our neighborhood and around the city. I'll be glad for the nicer weather.

Have a great week stitching, etc.!

Becky, your generosity warms my heart! Don't you just wish though that you could see their reactions when they receive the gifts? I love watching a person's face light up when they're surprised unexpectedly. That's half the fun!

Busy Needle turned out lovely! I had a funny feeling this one might be a pinkeep finish. The ribbon you chose is perfect!

The world needs more givers :) If more people only knew the secret that it REALLY is more blessed to give than to receive, maybe there'd be more of it going on :) To me it reminds me of a gentler, simpler time when good manners & neighborliness were still popular values. Anyhoo, another beautiful finish - I love the staging of your photos almost as much as the projects :)

Becky I love love the busy bee finish!! Adorable!! My Mother taught me as well it is better to give than receive and you are a very generous sweet person..I don't understand why people are so mean and can't even be courteous when receiving something to let the person know and thank them. I can't wait to see what you next start will be. Have a good week my friend...

Hi Becky,
Growing up in my house, good manners were a must. I know that isn't standard behavior for some people, but it always floors me when it's not. There just is no excuse. Sorry you were on the receiving end of rudeness.
I really love your finish on this piece. But then, I haven't seen anything you've done that I don't :>) !!
