A finish, some finds, and a FABULOUS frog :)

We left early this morning and hit just a few of our favorite antique and consignment shops and it seems today was a very FROGGY day :)
Just look at the MOST gorgeous scissor frog...oh, I am over the moon with this one :)Isn't it just gorgeous???

And I found a few other frogs as well as another oil can that I need for finishing on a couple of With Thy Needle and Thread charts-a heart and a bird that are mounted on the oil cans-I REALLY should stitch them up now-no excuse :) :) I found a couple of other great finds...but I can't share them as they are going out to friends :)

And I stitched up another RAK (Rare Act of Kindness-I have had so many emails inquiring as to what RAK stood for) after we got home today. It's the other design from the Homespun Elegance leaflet. These are a VERY quick stitch and look so great! I finished this one on the Brie cheese box. It's adorable :)

Designer: Homespun Elegange (Simple Truths Leaflet)
Fabric: 32ct. Cream
Fibers: DMC, WDW & GAST
Start Date: 2-25-2012
Date Finished: 2-25-2012

AND, a reader emailed me for my mailing info last week and the CUTEST little Beehive needlebook arrived from her today. She even included needles. Thank you so much Nancy. It's adorable and just perfect for my Hive :)

Thanks for visiting and your sweet comments. Please do come again :)
Next week there will be a few RAKS going out. PLEASE do let me know when they arrive :)
hugs and love from SC :)

I've got a bunch of frogs, but cannot locate them after our move, hummmm.

Isn't it great to get a surprise in the mail?

What a lovely cute finish Becky, I just love the colourful fabric you've put on the inside of your brie boxes lately, it would be so nice to open it up and have that little surprising splash of brightness!

Gorgeous frogs, you seem to be very lucky with finding them on a regular basis!

I've never seen a frog like that one - it's awesome! Nice finishes too!

What a GORGEOUS scissor frog! I've got a flower frog but no base for it. They are so hard to find around here. I'll be interested in seeing how you use the oil can with a stitched piece.

Oh WOW Becky...fabulous isn't the word for it! I have NEVER seen a frog like that before. It's absolutely gorgeous. I am green with envy (but oh so happy for you).

I saw those little cheese boxes in the store while in Georgia and thought of you. I was very tempted to buy one but I'm afraid I'm not that talented of a finisher. I will admire yours instead. :o)

Love your beautiful big frog! Hubby and I were antiquing today too..I found a green glass footed vase with matching frog on the top. Plus a green glass one without a bottom.

As always, your finishes are inspiring!

I just love the way you display your finishes and finds on crocheted lace. I do counted cross-stitch and I also crochet lace, so your blog is a visual feast for me!

Becky, that first frog is indeed gorgeous! What a lucky find! I have found some plain frogs here like you have shown in your second photo but nothing like the fancy one. And oil cans? That's another new search item.

Lovely finishes as usual! You sure know how to recycle those containers into beautiful things.

Happy Stitching!

You hit the jackpot on the frogs my dear. I am always on the lookout for them here and have only found one so far. I have been looking for oil cans and those big old bobbins too - you would think with so many weaving and knitting places that used to be here those would be plentiful. Love your latest finish, you are so clever with those box finishes. Have a great weekend!
