Teeny Tiny :)

This is just about the CUTEST and TINIEST pin pillow I have ever made. It's only about 2x2 (maybe a little less). The design came from a French Cross Stitch book and as we all know that "MON" means MY in English. So this is "My Pin Pillow". I used DMC 115 to stitch 1 over 1 on a scrap over Heatherfield. I trimmed it with a tiny red ricrac. It is stuffed with crushed walnut shells and it is absolutely SO adorable :)
It's going to be hopping off to one of my readers :)

A while back I sent Cath some tins/boxes to use in finishing and this cutie arrived in my mailbox today as a thank you. THANK YOU dear Cath-it's so well made-LOVE it :)
I am trying to find your email (my computer misplaced some files...) to send you a proper thank you :)

Thank you all so much for your kind visits. Please do come again :)

Ready to fly....

I stitched and finished up Pinkie last night while watching the Daytona 500-but it was so late when it went off (1am my time) that I did not have a chance to post.
These are just too FUN! I changed this one a bit from the one I stitched for myself (in yesterdays post from 2010), the inside color, and I made the tail so that Polka Dots show on both sides :) I also have added the tail feather pin that I made for this one. TOO, TOO cute!
This one is flying off to a VERY special home tomorrow. I WILL be stitching more of these later on to send out to some of you :)

Date Finished: 2-27-2012

I just had to show you my new scissors (you know I have all those new flower frogs I need to fill up-you would think I had enough scissors with all the frogs I have already full-but most of you understand the obsession with embroidery scissors!!! :)). I ADORE Polka Dots. Blue, green and pink polka dots :) Aren't this just TOO cute? They make me smile :)

And the Breast Cancer Awareness Scissors that came with a kit-all packaged in a pink plastic bag. I love the curve going to the blade :)

Thank you MUCHLY for your sweet visits :) I do so appreciate them and I hope you will come back again :)

Tweet, Tweet

Last night I pulled the supplies to make a couple of these cuties for a couple of my regular visitors. I pulled beads and made the pins (in the pic below taken back in 2010 when I stitched mine for whatever reason I did not include the lovely beaded pin in the pic-but you can see I included a cute pin just to show how to use the tweet)pulled some cute polka dot ribbon and have enough fabric for at least 2 birds. Anyway-the finishes will have a lovely beaded pin in the tail :)
Pinkie Needle Tweet

If you think you may like a little birdie needle tweet to fly to your house, please do let me know you are interested in a comment on THIS POST ONLY and I will choose a couple of names. I **may** stitch more than 2...we'll see :)

AND....I am SO excited about a new finishing technique (for me anyway as I have been thinking about it for quite some time but could not find the supplies I needed-but hubby and I have improvised with supplies we feel will work just as well) I hope to share soon (have to stitch and assemble it first though...:):):) )-I will tell you it is a pincushion finish and if it turns out as I hope-I will be offering a couple to my regular visitors :)

Thank you EVER so much for your visits and sweet comments :) I appreciate them so much. Please do come again.

The Busy Needle

I did the finishing on The Busy Needle today as I wanted to mail it out tomorrow too. I decided on a pinkeep finish. I hope the recipient will be pleased :) It's just adorable. I used off white trim, black/white gingham ribbon and beeskep colored glass headed pins for finishing.

I had a note from the sweetest lady that asked me how I can give my cross stitch away as she could not bring herself to do so. And how do I continue to give when I have been hurt by peoples actions. I am a giver-plain and simple. I always have been-even growing up. It brings me MORE joy to give than it does to receive and if I touch just one life by giving and it allows that person to know someone cares and maybe to feel a little special and lets them know there is INDEED kindness in the world-well that means so much to me personally and brings joy into my life that is beyond measure. Even when people criticize, or worry about what they will receive in return for giving or try to tell others how to manage their lives or make snarky remarks on and off blogs and VIA emails or never say thank you or you're welcome-though it hurts me as I have a gentle spirit(as do many of my bloggy friends)- I pray for those people (God cares more about your character than your comfort)and I remove myself from those type people.
So, Lori, I guess you can say it's in my nature to give and forgive :) ((hugs to you))

Thank you for stopping by :) I appreciate your sweet visits. Please come again!
Have a great start to the new week!

Pin Pillow

Another very quick stitch. I stitched this one for a friend (I have covered the monogram so it will be a surprise) and I hope she will enjoy it :) I just love the stork scissors :) I finished it with some great Hounds Tooth fabric and added some lace and a contrasting button as well as a rusty safety pin :) FUN! I think I will stitch this one several more times as gifts :)

ROFL...I had to crop out everything but the lace and button I was trying to show you as I realized once I had uploaded the pic that I failed to cover the initial :)

A finish, some finds, and a FABULOUS frog :)

We left early this morning and hit just a few of our favorite antique and consignment shops and it seems today was a very FROGGY day :)
Just look at the MOST gorgeous scissor frog...oh, I am over the moon with this one :)Isn't it just gorgeous???

And I found a few other frogs as well as another oil can that I need for finishing on a couple of With Thy Needle and Thread charts-a heart and a bird that are mounted on the oil cans-I REALLY should stitch them up now-no excuse :) :) I found a couple of other great finds...but I can't share them as they are going out to friends :)

And I stitched up another RAK (Rare Act of Kindness-I have had so many emails inquiring as to what RAK stood for) after we got home today. It's the other design from the Homespun Elegance leaflet. These are a VERY quick stitch and look so great! I finished this one on the Brie cheese box. It's adorable :)

Thanks for visiting and your sweet comments. Please do come again :)
Next week there will be a few RAKS going out. PLEASE do let me know when they arrive :)

Be Kind

Man, the weather here is terrible. We are under tornado watches and the wind is scary! It has made the perfect day for stitching and doing the finishing on this cute stitch. This was a VERY, VERY quick stitch and turned out just adorable.
"Be Kind"(that really says it all doesn't it?)
This is another RAK :)

The Busy Needle

This is such a charming stitch :) I have enjoyed it so much each time I have stitched it.
I think I am going to save it until the weekend to do the finishing....still deciding how I want to finish it :) Hoping the person I send this to doesn't have it already :) Do YOU mind receiving the same design (I have had this happen several times in exchanges-but as they are finished differently and made especially for me I do not mind at all receiving the same design and I display them proudly :))that you may already have stitched and displayed? Just curious :)

Busy Bee on Busy Needle :)

Gosh...I have had so many emails about this one tonight. I am sorry, I don't know if it is still available. At this time I am not interested in letting go of my chart :) Sorry...
I made a start on it while watching TV this evening. When I stitched the one for myself I stitched it on 40ct. This one is on 32ct and looking just lovely :) I look forward to finishing it up tomorrow and deciding on a finish for it!! TOO FUN! :)
