Saturday Sampler Progress and some finds...

I am SO loving this sampler. I made some progress on it-though we do have a great deal happening around here and stitching has honestly taken a back seat these last few days. My grandmother is not improving-she is worse. Bless her heart-I just adore her!!
Isn't this Sampler looking so pretty?? (man a couple people congratulated me on the finish of it when I showed it the other day-LOL!!....there is still a good bit to do :) :))

We were able to go to just a few places this morning and I found a couple of frogs. As I have one exactly like the pink glass with the frog already placed in it-I may give it away-but I have had a hard time with an email I received from someone basically asking me why I have not sent them a RAK...WHAT's that about????

AND a larger shuttle that I plan to stitch with a design of my own choice and finish off as a pincushion. This shuttle is MUCH larger than the other one I found.

And last but certainly not least, my dear friend Michelle surprised me again with a RAK. It arrived in today's mail :) Thank you so much Michelle....I will look forward to stitching it :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Moments...

The weather is AMAZING. I know it won't last as we only get a TINY taste of spring before we go FULL summer and it will HEAT up!!!....but while it's so gorgeous and I can enjoy it, I started a new piece this morning...outside, on the deck, birds singing, sun shining, bugs chirping , breeze blowing and a cat at my feet :)I wish it could stay like this year round :) AS I sat stitching I remembered it was this time last year that my FIL was diagnosed with cancer throughout his body and passed away 6 months later-I felt so sad for a few minutes and then the memories of him and how much he LOVED this time of year took over and a smile came to my face and I was at peace. Life is sure funny....but I am glad to be taking the journey :)
My new start...Good Huswifes in Summer by The Prairie Schooler. I was feeling like a PS design and the seasonal samplers have always been a favorite :)

BLock 10 Finished :) 2 to go :)

It's that time of year....GORGEOUS weather and my allergies are much better so I spend MUCH of my time working in the yard and stitching has only been happening in the evenings but that's OK as I LOVE working in my yard :). I finished up Block 10 last night. LOVE IT! I am actually ahead of schedule as I stitched 2 blocks this month.

Not much to say or share...

But I wanted to share this wonderful surprise I received from Maureen on Saturday. She stitched a lovely design and mounted it on the front of a small notebook. It's just TOO cute and will fit perfectly in my handbag :) She also included a bag of chocolates which just happens to be my VERY favorite chocolates :) Thank you so much Maureen :) SO sweet and thoughtful of you :)

And as long as I am here...I'll share my Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow progress. I just love working on this piece and have done so over the weekend without eye issues :) I think mostly in part to the heavy rains we had that help to disperse some of the pollen. My eyes have not itched and burned at all.

AaHRH Progress and a sweet RAK

I received the most adorable RAK from Michelle. This adorable Bee will fit right in here at the Hive :) Thank you so much, Michelle :) She puts a smile on my face. Michelle also included a couple of lovely fibers :) Many thanks my friend :)

And I decided to pull Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow back out this morning as it was calling to me :) Here is my progress on Block 10. Not sure if I will stay with it over the weekend or not as my eyes are giving me fits with 40ct fabrics-even with my bifocals and magnification on top of them...so it's difficult to stitch on 40ct. at the moment. Maybe after my eye doctor visit it will not be as bad. After all she did tell me that my eyes would change the first 3 years after getting glasses before they leveled off....I started wearing glasses for the first time in my life last year in March...and I am due for my one year check up-REALLY hoping we don't have to change prescriptions-but I can tell a huge difference in my eyes since getting glasses a year ago and I am having difficulty seeing fabric counts I could see with my glasses when I first got them...so if a stronger prescription is needed so be it and hopefully my eyes will stop changing soon-as I sure do enjoy 40ct!!!. (plus allergies are not helping with the eye issues) YES, I have a wonderful daylight floor lamp :) So lighting is NOT an issue :)

Snow Day....

Ya'll, I LOVE this one. I LOVED stitching it and I just love the scene. I LOVE the dogs (especially the one that looks like he is so happy to be out in the snow and having the best time :))
Definitely a FUN stitch :) This is another one that just makes me smile :)

Bounding Bunny

Hello friends :)
I did the finishing on Bounding Bunny today. I decided to go with a pillow finish and it's too cute. I used a cool alphabet print and I used 2 pieces around the center of the pillow-a black/white gingham and red/black gingham with a black flower button sewn into a larger red button. TOO ADORABLE :)

THANK you for all the emails about my grandmother-they decided not to do the pace maker as her heart stabilized over the weekend. They released her this afternoon. Continued prayers would be so appreciated as we are concerned for her.

I haven't forgotten about the project that hubby is working on for one of you sweethearts :) -hopefully when he has his next long off he can get it ready :)

Thank you ever so much for stopping by. Please do come again!

Sunday Stitching

I stitched this cutie today and finished it as a pillow ornament. I used Nina's ric rac around the pillow and as the hanger. I added a pink ribbon bow and a pink pearl pin in the top of the bow. I have had this one forever and almost did not stitch it because of the cover model...I am CERTAINLY glad I did though! It's tiny and just too adorable and is another one for the RAK basket :) The chart is also up for offer if anyone is interested (if more than one person is interested in the chart I will draw a name for it). A suggestion of a travelling pattern has been made-HOWEVER I will not offer as a travelling pattern as I have heard that some of the designers are not happy with travelling patterns if they are charts that are readily available and I am not going to step into that mess again :).

Elizabeth-I stitch what calls to me :) I don't tend to limit my stitching to any specific season/holiday :) Sometimes though I am just feeling whatever season or holiday that may be approaching-but I stitch any design at anytime of the year :)

And sorry, no I have no tips to offer about stitching faster...I can say that I no longer work outside the home-did that for over 20 years and that my children are adults and there are no after school activities or mom taxi any longer. I really can't tell you how I manage to get so much done. I am organized and I stitch-that's all I can say. If I have a free minute or more, it is spent stitching. I do not allow myself computer time in the mornings until my housework and errands are done-then I allow myself to turn on my computer -that may sound strict-but I learned many years ago that the internet will take over your life if you let it-so I do not let it.
I am not a person that just sits around-I have to be doing something constructive and productive. If I am sitting down I am stitching. I am pretty prolific in everything I do-that's one reason I am able to update my blog with each finish I have :) And yes, I am prolific in most all other areas of my life. Works for me and I get no complaints from my family :) SOOO...I am doing something right!!!! It really does bother me when people focus just on the speed at which I stitch and I truly do not like answering questions about it. It makes me feel as if I have to defend myself because I am a fast stitcher. I prefer you focus on my creativity and any inspiration you may take from my love of stitching.
PLEASE don't take offense to this if you have asked me or commented on my abilty to stitch fast...this is just to let you know I DO NOT have answers as everyone is different and I do what works for me. I am NOT upset with anyone or hurt by anything and I know you were not judging me-It's just that I get asked over and over about how I accomplish so much. I know you were looking for tips/answers but I just cannot tell you how to stitch fast :) :)

Thank you all SO much for your sweet comments and visits :) They are very appreciated and I welcome them :) Please do come again :)

I'm in LOVE....

Oh, I did the finishing on the two With Thy Needle And Thread pieces I stitch this week and I am DROOLING over them and SO in LOVE with them both. I changed mine a bit from the designers models and I could not be more pleased with how they turned out :)
I used Nina's hand dyed ric rac on both pincushions.
NOW, this was FUN!!! I think I MUST stitch these again for one of my readers!

Spring Fling

This was a VERY quick and fun stitch. It's another one for the RAK basket :) I went with a simple pin pillow finish for this one as the size of the design (it's tiny) lent itself to that type finish. I used crushed walnut shells for stuffing. It's so adorable.

I had planned to do the finishing on some of the other pieces I stitched this week, but I need to buy a few supplies first (don't hold me to that though as I may decide to use what I have and do the finishing).

Thank you so much for your sweet visits :) Please do come again.
Happy St. Patty's day to you all :)
